  1. I'm only 10 days post op, so pretty close to you in the process but I've not had any troubles getting liquids down. I never felt full at all with liquids. I started adding yogurt in yesterday and it's the first I've noticed starting to feel a little "full" before finishing the cup. I can tell you I have a LOT of head cravings but no true hunger I don't think. That having been said, I'm frigging sick of liquids. Soo ready to move on to purees Monday. 2. I'm 10 days post op. I struggle with fluids when I just do water. I'm still on full liquids so I've been doing a couple of protein drinks a day, broth, and then getting the last little bit with water. That's probably not very helpful, but if you hear better pass it on to me too! Sent from my Pixel 2 using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. I'm 9 days post op. I start purees in a few days and was wondering if anyone has some recipes? I'm dreading this, pureed food doesn't seem overly appealing. I'm hoping to make the next stage palatable Sent from my Pixel 2 using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. Yeah. They're the only ones allowed T_T Sent from my Pixel 2 using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. Beef broth is only taking me so far. Lol Sent from my Pixel 2 using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. I am pre-op. My surgery is 10/26. They gave mr the bariatric advantage high protein meal replacement powders. I'm to drink four a day. It's partially taste, partially consistency but I'm barely choking one a day down. I have a bunch of premier protein shakes of various flavors ready to go for after surgery. I like them. I just don't know how I'm going to get through the next 8 days. Sent from my Pixel 2 using BariatricPal mobile app
  7. And absolutely frigging starving. I've not eaten in five days. I'm not getting down as much of the protein shakes as I'm supposed to because they're gagging me and I can't get them down. I'm so hungry. I'm tempted to find something to eat but really trying to be strong. This sucks. I have 8 days to go. #miserable Sent from my Pixel 2 using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. Me too [emoji16] Sent from my Pixel 2 using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. I'm on day 4 of two weeks. Do you get to eat? I know different docs have different plans. For me it's just the stupid hpmr shakes. I've been drinking a ton of beef broth though to try to feel less starved. Seems like the hot liquid helps a little. I hate the shakes. I've been mixing them with frozen fruit but it doesn't help the taste. I'm gonna try some fresh fruit in them. Sent from my Pixel 2 using BariatricPal mobile app
  10. I've been struggling with the water as well. Hang in there! You can do it! Sent from my Pixel 2 using BariatricPal mobile app

  14. Today is day 2 of my 2 week pre-op liquid diet. I'm to have four shakes per day. To be honest, I'm friggin hungry. And I'm consumed with thoughts of food. My surgery is on 10/26. I figured this would be the hardest part, but man it sucks. Anyone else out there? Sent from my Pixel 2 using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. 10/26 here! Sent from my Pixel 2 using BariatricPal mobile app

  20. So I bought a variety of protein shakes to find one I like before surgery. So far I've only tried a premier protein chocolate shake. Omg it's awful. I mean I think I can maybe force myself to choke it down but it's awful! It tastes like what I would imagine tube feed tastes like! How am I going to do this lol. Anyone else out there who struggled to find a good one? Sent from my Pixel 2 using BariatricPal mobile app
  21. Given that, I probably wouldn't have told anyone either. I'm glad we have this forum so you won't be alone. Sent from my Pixel 2 using BariatricPal mobile app

  23. Congrats! How did the surgery go for you? I'm eager to have mine done but a little anxious about possible pain. I'm allergic to pain meds. As for pictures when I updated my profile I looked for a couple pics to post. It was sad to see how few photos of myself I have. And they're all of just my face. For so long I've hated my body and the way I look. When I was young and thing I was so very photogenic. I wonder if I can get back to that. As hard as it will be though I do plan to photodocument my journey for something to look back on and potentially share. Sent from my Pixel 2 using BariatricPal mobile app
  24. Thank you. I've seen people with stats posted and others asking about them but wasn't sure how to do it. I've updated my info with what I know for now. I'll be sure to keep it up to date. I planned to keep my surgery plan a secret. But apparently I have an insane need to share. Probably because I'm so excited. I kind of wish I had kept my mouth shut. No one has made any negative comments though so far. My husband is supporting me but doesn't understand why I can't just make the associated diet changes to lose the weight I need to. Same for his mother. They worry I'll be hurt or unhappy. Despite not understanding, they are being supportive about the surgery. They just worry about my happiness with the lifestyle changes. It makes me feel like I can't really express my own concerns though because I worry they'll try to talk me out of it based on them. I really am anxious to just get it over with so they can see I'm fine. If you don't mind me asking, is there a reason you're not telling anyone? No judgement, just curiosity. Honestly I wish I had found this forum and got involved before I started talking. Maybe I wouldn't have felt the need. Sent from my Pixel 2 using BariatricPal mobile app
