  1. Just kindda felt left out. You and one other pretty much kept his thread going, and I wanted so bad to be part of it. Had hoped to be an august allstars too, but made the september samurai (gosh I can't spell that). I had my surgery on my brother's birthday too. Told him he would have to share his special day with me now. To date, I've lost 39 pounds, and gained back two. I am up and walking, and lifting on my disabled son. Which is a killer. Thankfully Dr Heneghan (at Bassett Cooperstown NY) knew the situation, so took extra care to stitch the port in properly. It feels nice and tight in there. Sometimes to tight  Have you all had fills yet? I think Im more nervous about them than the actual surgery> Surgery doesn't scare me. I've had so many. Something like 10+. Thanks for welcoming me. Teri
  2. You fell down. You goofed. YUP.... But it's another moment, and you can move on from that. You can do this. We both can, as I've been struggling with that issue too. HUGS teri
  3. I'm thinking and praying for you! teri
  4. I'm going back to basics today. My stomach just feels so off today and yesterday. So I had my Protein drink this morning, and for lunch I had Soup broth. dinner will be another Protein Drink. Maybe giving my gut a day to rest will help? Maybe something I ate in the last 24 hours is bugging me? Or maybe it's that "TOM" syndrome. I don't get my period, haven't in nearly a year. I had a hysterectomy. The weather is rainy, so I won't be going out for my walk today. I actually miss it. May go to the mall tomorrow to walk, as it's supposed to rain all weekend. Most of next week too. I'm gonna talk to my bf about a early christmas gift I want an eliptical, or recombant exersize bike. With my bad back, I don't think the regular one is all that good for me. I don't want like a gym here, but something I can do daily would be extremely nice Teri
  5. I hope this doesn't come off as a poor me. But doggone it. I've tried several times to join this CLICK, and yet you all ignore me. Well fine. I'll leave you be, but thanks for showing other new yorker's how welcoming some are. teri
  6. Thank you for this reminder ... The best thing is getting off pills. I'm down one, hoping to get rid of at least one more :tongue2: teri
  7. I have an AP, it's just what my dr thought was the best fit for me, from his experience. Teri
  8. IM type 2 also. I was on byetta with some good control. I was told I'd bring home insulin for this period, with a sliding scale of doses. I've got a cold and am higher than I was. Not terribly. I just watch what I eat, and can get it down. This morning I was 124. Not terrible, not where I was before this blasted cold. That was in the mid 90's. I can't wait to feel better. Teri
  9. I'm doing ok with the liquids, but I too haddifficulty getting any real food yesterday. I am up 2 pounds. How can that be? I'm eating good healthy low fat meals for what I can heat. Half to 3/4 cup per meal. High Protein, low fat. Maybe I'm going thru the TOM issues. I don't get it, haven't in about a year. I had a hysterectomy. Anyway, today's another day. I won't be able to go out walking today. So I'm not sure what activity I'll do today. It's raining hard today, and should the next few days. not one that likes to bring the kids out in the rain. My sugars are up again, but not nearly what they were pre op. I think it's the cold. Just have to work harder :tongue2: Teri
  10. Well we only have one but I just wanted to wish them well, and say you're in my thoughts and prayers today mytime2008 Teri
  11. Im so glad you all are my sisters/bro's. Take care, and I'll be back soon. I am having some difficulty getting much in today. I did manage some lunch, and some breakfast, but dinner hasn't happened. Not sure what's going on. But I did see K-Indy is having the same issue. I'm also quite full of air today. Lots of burping. Nothing coming with it. Well I think I'll get the boys ready for bed. Night.
  12. I'm praying for you. TO my knowledge there is just one other having surgery today... hawki14. May your surgery go easily, and your healing be fast and painfree. Teri
  13. I didn't get this posted yesterday. I'm thinking and praying for you two today... if there are others please feel free to comment, or let me know, so I can add you. We're thinking of you today, Hawki14 and Slim-n-tn Just think... in 3 months it's christmas, and in 3 months we're skinnier and healthier :crying: Teri
  14. I know that area. I'm near oneonta/cooperstown NY area. Teri
  15. Deb, you're putting on weight, because you're building muscle. Did you take your measurements before your surgery? It's never to late. When you go thru things like this, measure, because from an experienced friend of mine locally, one week you'll see good weight loss, the next the inches catch up. She's been right with me. I'm stuck at 231, for 3 days now (i'm 9 days post op), and I measured. I've lost nearly 2 inches total this week alone. Teri
  16. You probably (not a surgeon, and definitely not your surgeon) have stitches under your skin. I'm not a good candidate for the steri strips. I actually get skin ulcers from them. My port is just below my ribcage by about 3 fingers width. Looked like I had a third boob Thank God that's nearly gone. I'm wearing a size 16 w jeans today. Not much longer, as they are a little binding, but my bf wanted to see me in them. :crying: I've been in a 22W for so long, they feel good teri
  17. Oh yes it did. I had to pack it for about 6 weeks before it healed from the inside out. Turned out I had a staph infection. So of course when my incisions got red yesterday my mind went there. Mine were also glued on the exterior. But stitches under neath. Often times there is something with the actual thread that makes them not disolve. But nothing wrong with that. I've had it happen with my first csection, my laps (had 2 ex laps), and my shoulder surgery. I counted them up, and I've had like 10 surgeries. Teri
  18. it's a slight skin infection. Have treatment orders from my surgeon. thanks teri
  19. I had that happen with my csection in 2002. I freaked. LOL When the incision opened on my hysterectomy in 2007, I called like hey... got a little problem. :girl_hug: Anyway, i'm glad you're ok. Teri
  20. I was home the same day. I was glad to be home in my own surroundings. I think except for when my little one puked on my tummy, where my incisions were, it was best for all at my house. I go today for a wound check. teri
  21. The Protein helps burn off fat, as long as you don't get to much, and also if you don't get enough protein you loose your hair. I'm not ready to loose my hair. Today other than the one incision and my cold, I feel great. Teri
  22. I am amazed. I'm glad it went so smoothly. Seriously that's my biggest fear was the fills. Surgery... ah I handle them well. The needles... UGH! teri
  23. I only know that I have the "small one". Not sure about that. Will ask tomorrow. I just feel full all day today. I'm able to eat. I'm able to burp. I'm able to do most things. I just felt weird. Like I couldn't squeeze in another drop. My first fill is October 29th. My one incision (where they put the port) is getting redder, and is actually starting to look angry. I think I'm glad I have an early appt. My fever stays right around the 100.1 f mark this afternoon. I'm watching it. Drinking has no affect on it. I thought I might be getting dehydrated too, so I drank a good amount of liquid right after I posted last, and it didn't change. Well, it's nearly biggest looser time. I'm gonna watch that again this season, without wishing I was there  I am not sure in my shape right now I'd stick it out, even for that kind of money. I'd probably tell them all off, and walk out. Just my style. Went out for a 2 mile walk after dinner. Which was delicious. :tt1: The dr said to go ahead and have it. I thought I should probably do liquids. He said no. So I did have it. I'm glad I did. Felt good to take such a long walk. Wasn't fast, but it was with resistance, pushing stroller and pulling a wagon (My oldest pulls the wagon). We came home with about 3 dollars in cans. Brandon enjoys it. Teri
  24. I'm 7 days post op, and am full of bruises... I have 6 holes, plus the IV (mine kept blowing 4 total), and where they gave me a blood thinner. So I have a total of 10 big old bruises. they are quite normal my surgeon says. teri
  25. I prefer most any whey over the soy. They don't smell so terrible. If Ican get it past my nose I can get it down. Not happily sometimes. Teri
