  1. I didn't stay over night, but from prior surgeries I would have stayed in the hospital gowns. IF you are given one not big enough, tell them you need a bigger one. They actually gave me one way to big for me, so they brought me a smaller one. ( I was at 240 the morning of my surgery). The one they brought for me would have fit a 400 pound person. You don't want to ruin your gowns. And why make more laundry for yourself? You won't want to do laundry for a few days. I waited nearly a week to physically do the laundry. My boys loaded and unloaded. I just did the soaps and softner. teri
  2. I'm a stay at home mom. I was home alone by mid my second day. I was home the same day from surgery. ALthough my children are 2 and a half (twins) one is disabled and developmentally at 6 months. So I have to carry him everywhere. I did tire easily, but I just kept moving. I feel great now... and yes by day 5 I was good to go. Teri
  3. Since most of us are off restriction on what we can do... does anyone wanna do a November exercise challenge? Like I hope to do 3000 steps on the wii fit 5 days a week for November. Which would total 60,000 steps. Anyone wanna join me? BTW I can do that in 30 minutes max. So it's a total of 600 minutes for a month, 10 hours. teri
  4. You slipped into bad habits of the past. I've done it. Today is a new day. This day God made for each of us. We need to take it, and make better choices. With God, our hope, and our support, we can do this. We will learn to make better choices. I know one thing that really helps me not to over eat, is I measure out the amount I'm supposed to be eating each meal. Sometimes that satisfies, other times it does not. I have no restriction at all yet. I've had no flls yet. It's going to take time. *Holding hands* we can do this! We will win this battle! teri
  5. Sometimes Starting over is the best start. I started down this journey in 2002, and quit, because it just wasn't right for me yet. Here I am 6 yrs later and banded. teri
  6. My surgeon does too, then he ended up going out of town, so it's like almost 8 weeks. I'm so feeling the need of a fill. Mine is tuesday. teri
  7. I haven't even had my first.... but i'm glad you're second (and third) went well. teri
  8. I just feel tired so far today. I'm doing ok tummy wise. Not taking a lot of risks, staying to chicken broth, Protein drinks and Water. Oh and I did have some chicken noodle Soup. But other than being drained I feel ok. thanks for thinking of me. (My kids all had this last week- so it was inevitable). teri
  9. I've got it too. But my flu shot was a week ago today. No nausea meds, and no fill yet, as I'm only 6 weeks post op. teri
  10. I'm sick! I have had diarrhea for about 14 hours now. I'm drinking tons, so I'm not dehydrated yet... but am fighting it. I'm starting to get nauseated. I don't like feeling like this. Any ideas on how to feel better? And Deb, we were fighting constipation... for the moment that's far from my problem. teri
  11. I have the Lapband AP. I read they have a 7 cc and a 10 cc band. I'm not sure which one I want. teri
  12. I'm going thru the same thing. I haven't yet had my first fill. Because I'm diabetic (although my sugars are GREAT!) they made me wait longer to make sure I'm well healed. I've had issues with healing before. I do a lot of distraction therapies before I give in to the munchies... I'll get up and clean, or do something to keep my mind and hands busy. teri
  13. I hope you're feeling better. It's hard concentrating on anything when you are that sick. Teri
  14. I run the clothing swap in our group. Fun.... means a lot of work for me. But hey I also get first chance at the clothing  Teri
  15. I can't believe you're eating chicken already. I had to wait two full weeks then to puree it for another 10 days. The chicken sat wonderfully at that point. The only thing so far for me, that causes nausea is if I try to eat to fast. OR bread. Bread doesn't go well for me. And I'm completely unrestricted at this point. teri
  16. Hello all. I'm officially in Bandster hell. I can eat whatever, and I'm hungry. Thankfully my fill date is November 4th. Not soon enough, as I've gained back a pound. YUCK! But far from the 270 I started out at. I'm working on my wii fit daily. Enjoying that. I can do the step aerobics, and then go into the free step for 20 minutes, and top 2000 steps. That's cool. When I started the 10 minutes and making 600 was difficult. Anyone doing anything for halloween? teri
  17. WTG Becky. I'm proud of you! Even with all the crap you had to deal with waiting for your surgery thanks to the hurricane, you have done so great. Teri
  18. You may wanna look under the support groups. There are montly ones. I'm part of September 2008.... as I had my surgery September 16, 2008. I 've learned so much on that board. Good luck on your journey.
  19. I'm heading into the teens with my first son. The twins are 2 and a half. So I do have a sense of what you're going thru. My oldest prior to the band makes me wanna tear my hear out, and add the band, and the twins in... and I'm gonna end up bald. I'm positive of that. That said... We have to hold on. Life is hard. But we will make it thru. Take your two yr old for a nice long walk. It's amazing what a wonderful listener the two yr old is. I talk to my twins all the time. The one is starting to answer me back and on rare occassions repeat what I say. But hey... it's helpful. Teri
  20. WTG Becky. Hey if you still have my email, can you email me? My pc crashed and I lost my address book with your address in it (email address). Wanted to email you the other day, to see how you're doing. Glad you've had your first fill already. I feel like I'm the only one not having one yet. Am i????? I'm doing ok. Boys costumes (made from scratch) are done... well the twins are made from scratch. Brandon has a store bought one- his choice. The twins are dinosaur and panda bear. They are adorable. Brandon says this is his last year trick or treating. I don't know. Time will tell. What else... I weighed myself this morning. I've gotten in a not so wonderful habit of weighing each morning (most mornings), and found out I've been at 226 two days in a row. I've gone as low as 225, and average out to be 227 currently. How sweet. I have 27 pounds (I'm counting it that way anyway) to be in one-derland. It's raining today, has me all achy. Tomorrow it'll be nice, and we'll go out to the "mall" for trick or treating, and activities of this such. I will get tons of walking done. And the twins will have mixed attitudes of it. Michael doesn't like the costumes. Matthew loves them. I dread the candy being here. Teri
  21. How is everyone? Are we all back to exercising? I'm doing a combo exercise. Every other day I do extra wii fit, and the light day I also do the gazelle. I'm seeing differences in my stamina. I am still without any fill. November 4th is my big day. I'm so looking forward to it. Teri
  22. Just make sure your partner can teri
  23. My office says 3 weeks. That said, I took my pain pill for my back 10 days post op, but it's the size of a birth control pill. They said it was ok. I can take most any pill now. I was so scared of it in the beginning. MY biggest concern is toradol is a NSAID. We're supposed to stay away from them. Please be careful! teri
  24. It's when the dr adds Fluid to the band, to give you more restriction. It can't come soon enough. But I'm working tons... I actually did step aerobics for 45 minutes, at high intensity already this morning. teri
  25. Glad it's resolving. I never really had bad gas pains. Thankfully. I had enough other issues. Hope you have a better day today. teri
