    30-30-30 rule with water

I always go against the grain, I agree after and during nope. But i have found the 30 rule after to be a little long - I read a post here a long time ago that said wait till you feel comfortable if blotted from food then hang tight. For me i drink gator aide - while cooking and just about up to the time i eat. Once i get up and move a little i can drink again without to many issues usually no less the 15 min later. Now i also am a strong fighter for just live you life and these apps, timers and other gimicks are to much of a pain in the ass. As you move along the journey you will find it easier to do and just becomes a routine. DO NOT Drink and Eat trust me on that. I was sipping a beer and eating oysters the other day and I had to go visit the bush outside.

  13. Over the past year been getting PM about what App did i use and about gadgets /devices/issues So Here i go again. Repost from last December First of all this is what i did and I have a tendency to not follow the rules. KEY to this post is you decide, Do not follow, If a gadget makes you happy and keeps you focused, Great, but this is a individual journey that you and only you can do! During the journey ,,,,,Do not stress out, panic, just adjust and make changes that allow you and only you to enjoy the journey to a healthy happy you. 1. Shakes: I must have spent a thousand dollars on pre made shakes and to me they suck! Once you figure out how to make them you can enjoy the challenge and make them into little hand grenades filled with Protein and vits and minerals 2. Scale: Yes you need one but do not drive yourself nuts weighing all the time - I weighted in on the 1st and 16th of the month 3. Apps : I found this to be a pain in the ass to use and record, but if you like them people here swear by them, But do not get so obsessed with you app you loose focus 4. Plates and gadgets. NO WAY am i sitting down with others with a baby plate, Look at the images on google for the size of a meal you should eat. Look at a 100 images and you are adults you should be able to portion just by view. Weighing you food is insane to me. But i am culinary trained i can eye a piece of fish or meat and know it is 5oz. I think we all know what a cup of veggies is about in size. 5. Clothes: I truly have looked like a homeless guy for the last year, In fact as sit here i have a 5x Colombia fishing shirt on. Used to be tight now its huge but comfortable. Enjoy donating the fatty clothes, Enjoy the change who cares what you wear, I realize if you have to work you need proper clothing but getting healthy is a better thing then losing your wardrobe. Nothing made me happier then donating Bags of clothes - Sure I kept a few but donated the rest - Huge walk in closet full now everything that fits takes up a little area. 6. Others/Co workers/ Family. This seems to be a problem with many here, I suggest you just get the screw you attitude and you are doing this for yourself. Who really cares what Betty in HR thinks. This is a topic is see all the time, People are mean and love to see failure in others. So they get envious as you succeed 7. Dietetic and Trainer: To me this is a key from Pre Op - However I do realize money is a issue, If you can not use one read read read and do not read here first. There are great books and plans available from Trained Nutritionists on web. Then read here because No two WLS people are the same. If time is a issue Meal prep with containers and such. I suggest a trainer. One of my greatest things was the elliptical with the video screen trainer. Love it. Little pricey but great and private, they have bikes and treadmills also The moral here is there seem to be alot of new people here, run your own race and do not waste to much time on Gadgets and Issues of the surgery. Focus on your journey and the changes - Keep it simple, Keep it healthy, Keep it up!

    Worried about Surgery Failure

STOP You are already playing mind games with yourself - For those few who failed there is 1000;s of us who committed to the plan and met our goals. This is a tool and you need to run the workshop. I see no way for failure if you stay on plan and one thing you will be alot happier and healthier then the plan you are on. It is a fact that being at a normal weight is easier on your body and joints.

Drive to Eat vs. Actual Hunger

We all have been there and most of us are still there. Yesterday for the first time since my surgery I ordered a subway sub. No freaking reason why, Just wanted to do something naughty -- yes i ate the six inch, In the old days could take down to 12 s easy. Its a Mind Games, it was just such a habit for all of us for decades that we just follow a pattern. I will say this it does get easier. I am a trained culinary guro, I cook now for taste and quality for myself, Focusing on wild high end stuff to meet my addiction to food, and to keep my mind going. At the same time i will cook for my teanagers and there friends in USA normal size big portions loaded with Carbs and such. They are both in great shape and need the carbs for cross fit. It will get easy just look at food as a skilled Hobby not a addiction

    Brand new sleeve

Trust me on this and every sleever will tell you the same - It is key that you move around, you gotta get the air out. If not you will be uncomfortable - Been there done that i know it sucks but just walk around you house bend over move side to side. You will be a new person once you get the gas out. Also the baby Gas drops work great also.

    Are my expectations too high?

Nova nailed it here - and I fall untill that I was 377 On July 18 of last year, on Dec 27 My b day i weighed in at 215 Which is over a loss that meets the average. Now for new information It took me a while to get my head on straight and get a routine. I crashed bad 45 days out due to not getting organized. This is must You are getting a tool and you need to have the whole workshop in order. DIET ........... Vitamins and Minerals ...... Mental Health .......... and exercise, (Do not panic you will be amazed as you loose the weight how much you like walking and doing physical stuff) Welcome to the Journey

What was your early weight loss like?

I lost about 3 pounds a week in the first month and averaged 4.5 pounds per week for my goal - I am a male so we loose it quicker plus i am extremely active
  21. For me as a male i slammed it off at 500 calories a day so guess i had a 7 month honeymoon however female tend to be slower on the loss, We al slow down around 6 months the first half was easy second half required me to bust my ass working out

    Prenatal vitamins?

Im no expert but do they help with conception or just when pregnant? Hang tight will text my OBGYN doctor friend Here is the link he gave me When is the best time to start taking a prenatal vitamin? Much earlier than you think! If you're wondering when to start prenatal vitamins, you might be surprised. The ideal time to start a prenatal supplement is actually 3 months prior to conception. Here’s why you should start taking prenatals before pregnancy: Your eggs develop 90 days before they are released, and healthy eggs are key to a healthy pregnancy. It’s important that your body has quality nutrients to pull from during this phase. Virtually no one gets a nutritionally perfect diet every day. A prenatal vitamin is a good backup in case you’re not reaching your optimal daily intake of pre-pregnancy nutrients. Taking vitamins before TTC may reduce the risk of preterm birth. Researchers at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill found that taking vitamins prior to conception reduced the risk of preterm birth by about one half in a group of about 2,000 women. Folate supports the earliest, most critical stages of fetal development. The baby’s neural tube (its brain and spine) develop within the first month of pregnancy, sometimes before you even know you’re pregnant. By the time you get that first positive test, you should already be regularly consuming folate. MTHR folate, which is what we use in our prenatals, is preferable to folic acid for its bioavailability. Prenatal vitamins contain DHA, which is a type of omega-3 fatty acid that can help your baby’s health once you get pregnant. Omega-3 fatty acids also help improve cervical mucus quality (which is necessary for sperm to reach the egg), help promote an ideal balance of reproductive hormones, and help improve egg quality. Taking prenatal vitamins prior to conception has been shown reduce the chance of irregularities such as neural tube defects, heart defects, limb deformities, and cleft palate, according to research published in the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Canada. A prenatal can ensure adequate iron stores. Women who are pregnant need twice the amount of iron. The iron in prenatal vitamins makes hemoglobin, the oxygen-carrying component of red blood cells. This keeps oxygen flowing to your body’s tissues and organs, and it also prevents iron-deficiency anemia, which can be common in early pregnancy. Some of us don’t get enough Vitamin D, especially during the winter season. You need Vitamin D to grow your baby’s bones and keep yours strong. Vitamin D is also linked to higher live birth rates among women undergoing fertility treatments and lower risk of a first trimester miscarriage. As you can see, there are many benefits of prenatal vitamins before pregnancy! We may be biased, but we love our easy to swallow Prenatal Pills. They’re an innovative capsule within a capsule, designed with time-release technology to ensure optimal absorption of nutrients in their most bio-available forms. Potentially stomach-upsetting ingredients, such as Folate and Iron, are in the small inner capsule to be released later in the digestive tract where they will be more readily absorbed and avoid nausea and constipation. Meanwhile, liquid ingredients such as DHA are in the outer capsule since they’re best absorbed earlier.

    Espresso w/premier shake Post op

WOW what a great idea! I do not see how that would be a problem, Since week two i can down a diet coke and caffeine. Just tried your idea but only one shot and it was no issue for a sleever. now two shots and i would be climbing the walls. I think we all react to foods and chemicals differently, my suggestion is start slow and see how it goes. you gotta live life so a shot is not the end of the world to me
