What to do with craving food?

I feel your pain. I had surgery a few weeks before Thanksgiving last year. That was tough.
  4. It is hard to imagine. And when you get there, it's even harder to believe. I'll say this. It works and will work if you do your part. Believe in the process and believe in yourself. You've got this!

    What if

Entering maintenance has been a challenge. I'm about 10 lbs below my goal, with a 27 BMI. I'm happy here. My pcp is happy and so is my surgeon. Started with a 44 BMI if I remember right. I'm pretty sure that 1300-to 1500 low carb calories are my formula. Heavy protein and some vegetables. Yogurt, cottage cheese, and a rare treat here and there. Some days it's hard to eat that much and others not so much. I think you just have to figure it out when you get where you want to be.
  6. So, 9 months out and in maintenance. I thought I would have ham and eggs this morning on an English muffin. Looked great. First one in since before surgery. I love them. My new stomach does not. Two bites and I was immediately nauseous. Weird. Ate the ham and eggs and was good. Not ready for carbs I guess? I eat very few, and never bread, pasta or other bad ones. Thoughts?
  7. Yep. And I will. I've been fortunate and have not had trouble with much at all. Kind of why I was surprised at how it went this morning. That said, I'm very strict about what I eat, avoiding all the stuff that got me where I was prior to surgery. I'm more than happy not to eat those things anyway.

    Concern

Sounds like the glue came loose. Happened to my big incision shortly after surgery.
  9. Maybe. My brother has celiac pretty bad. I'm starting to think gluten is poison.

    Has anyone lose 120+

119 and in maintenance. Could've lost more if I wanted to.
  15. First. Nice work. Hiccups for me were a sign of full early on. Started immediately after surgery when I had my first sips of water. I dont recall any staggering. Tell the doc. I bought cheap clothes from Walmart as I was losing. Just the bare minimum. Couple of their 11 dollar jeans after about 70 lbs to get me through.

    Is it Worth it?

No regrets here. After the healing process, it's been pretty easy. Hit my goal in around 6 months. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. My quality of life has dramatically improved.

    BCBS Choice PPO of IL

I paid out around 1300. My deductible was 1500 if I remember right with a max out of pocket of 1900. BCBS of Illinois. Hoops were not bad at all for me. Surgery within 10 weeks of my first visit.

Post Op Liquid Diet - Juice Ok?

No juice for me after surgery either.
  21. I see you're in Sanford. I'm just outside of Aberdeen and Southern pines.
  22. Hey. Welcome. I'm in NC as well. Had my surgery at Wake Med. My best advice is to just do what your team tells you to do. They know what they're doing. Good luck to you and enjoy this exciting process!
