ISO success stories with Hashimoto's and Sleeve
Phoenix20 replied to kellieym's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
hi there. i have been on hypothyroid meds for like at least 7 years. i too have struggled with weight and my primary recommended i look into vsg. i know some people develop GERD but as sleeve is the less invasive, that is the best option for many people, myself included. you can always revise if you have to, but many people seem to thrive after vsg though each case is unique in its own way. i've been back and forth but i think this is the best option for me and im sticking to my july 20 vsg date. good luck to you! -

Sleeve to Bypass due to GERD
Phoenix20 replied to beaker27's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
yeah, that isn't a terrible stat but it worries me. i think, at the end of the day, that's a risk worth taking. my surgeon wasn't concerned but we can discuss it again. vsg is the best option for my personal case based on a few factors and i know there is no surgery that doesn't carry some risk. i have also heard of people who developed GERD post vsg but it wasn't permanent and/or it was successfully treated by medicine. so that's the hope. thanks! -

July 2020 Surgery anyone?
Phoenix20 replied to IWantTheDream's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone! i'm brand new to this site. As of today, my vsg is officially booked for july 20!!!!! so nervous and excited. i have chosen not to tell many people aside from immediate family and one close friend. i'm not ashamed its just a private matter and i think its a big enough surgery and emotional/physcial roller coaster I don't want nay negative comments etc.
