  1. Hi, tattoo artist with a sleeve here.

So if you'd like to avoid any and all warping, I'd recommend waiting until AFTER you get your skin removal surgery. As with skin removal surgery they cut out shapes and then pull the edges together to contour and reshape your body, if any tattoo is near the areas, it is likely going to get distorted. This is why I have personally halted getting a back suit, my stomach tattooed, anymore thigh tattoos, and anymore arm tattoos. I already have an underboob piece that is already distorted just from losing weight, and I know once I get skin removal done, it's going to be lower than where it was and it might become misshapen. If I knew id be doing this, I wouldn't have gotten the tattoo yet haha!

If you have any other questions feel free to ask [emoji847]

  2. I have already been approved for surgery. My surgeon has me on a 3 week preop liquid diet consisting of 3 Protein Shakes a day with Water in between. Im on day 8 and Ive already lost 15 pounds. At this rate if I keep losing like this I will go under my BMI... (I wasn't too far from it to begin with).... can insurance deny surgery if I go under the 35 BMI during preop diet?

Typically your insurance will go by what your BMI was prior to the program, or whatever it was when you started. I would check with your insurance and your doctor's office to see how they do their report.

  3. I'm 25 getting the gastric sleeve this month. I've been bigger all my life and the efforts I have made to be the opposite all were fruitless. Throughout my process of all of this, there were a few times where I was thinking maybe I didn't need the surgery, just because I was able to lose weight quickly on the diet. As soon as I thought that, I plateaued, and realized that this is definitely what I need to do, for me and my family. I thought I would be ashamed being so young and getting weight loss surgery cause I guess this is supposed to be my "prime" but there's no shame in admitting you need help in actively pursuing a better and healthier life.

  4. I'm pre-op (hopefully getting the sleeve next month) and my husband polices me. I know he means well but it's very frustrating, I started this in June and have already reached my pre-op weight goal and even lost a little more. I know what I can and can't have and amounts of each. [emoji849] I remind him every time but sigh. Maybe he will leave me alone after the surgery because then he will truly not be able to give input as it'll be a totally different situation.
