    This Pre-op diet is a b$@!:

The same thing happened to me but it was Covid spike. Postponed for 9 weeks. I gained weight because of the timing and holidays/ I have my surgery on 2/23...looking forward to it!! Good luck to you!
  4. I have been looking at a lot of before and after pictures on here and they are awesome. One thing that jumps off the page at me is the folks that resumed or started weight training after surgery are just amazing looking! I understand that is not for everyone for various reasons, just an observation. I am half way thru my liquid diet and have my surgery on Tuesday 2/23. The first 2 days on the liquid diet really sucked. Today , day 4 ,has not been so bad. I am thinking that last day before surgey may not be as bad as I anticipated. Honestly at this point I think I can just drink water and eat jello. I have not had any popcycles yet so I may throw those in on tht last day. Anyway, I am hoping I can get in the gym when my surgeon says it is ok and get after it. Good luck to everyone and continued success.

So True...I am on a liquid diet but have a good attitude and know this is only temporary. Looking forward to a new life a few months from now!
  11. Day 3 of pre op liquid diet. Surgery in 5 days on 2/23 which is 11 weeks from when I should have gotten it done but postponed because of Covid spike. I have been reading how much weight people lost in the first 90 days or so and it is inspiring! I understand there will be some rough times ahead but I know this is going to be worth it! I should be back home this time next week thinking what the Hell have I done but tht too will pass. I have enjoyed lot of good reading and gained a bit of knowledge on here in a short time. Let the journey begin!

OMG!! This is so funny! I am on it now too and it does suck. I use a bullet with a Premier Protein shake, crushed ice, scoop of Whey protein, and Triple Zero yogart first thing every day. It gives me about 60 grams of protein in that shake. That helps quite a bit and then try to stay full of water. The cream of anything soups are also a staple item. Good luck...it will pass by pretty quickly.

    Weight lifting (bodybuilding)

Just wondering did your Doc want you to wait this long to get back in the gym? I am hoping to be able to start lifting again a couple months after surgery. My wife asked me to quit lifting a year ago as she said it was only making me bigger and not losing in the areas I needed to. She was right by the way but I am glad I have that muscle under this fat! Looking forward to lifting again. I am 63 but was doing 225# sets on the bench and other lower weight sets. I also like the seated leg press and doing 3 sets of 25 at 550# or so. I did all the other machines too but those and the dumbells are my favorite. I don't want to put too much stress on my core so I am going to ask my surgeon when is the right time to start. Good luck to you on your journey.
  17. Thanks! I wish I had been able to have my surgery on 12/16 but all things happen for a reason. I was able to enjoy Christmas, The College football playoffs and NFL playoffs but ready to slim down. Thanks for the encouragement and you are doing great!
  18. Have you lost 94 pounds since December 3rd??
