  1. I m not sure you need a lot of friends like that. Everything she said was inappropriate. Sounds like she might be jealous of your weight loss and tht you will be slimmer than her! Keep doing what you are doing and don't worry folks like her. You did this for yourself...not for your so called friend
  2. When is your surgery date? The hardest part about this to me was the first Few days of the liquid diet. The surgery was remarkable because I just new and had accepted that I was going to have several days of pain. That was not the case at all. Once you get past the gas , for me personally it was a huge sigh of relief. I am in no pain. I know this is not the case for everyone but for me I am just amazed. PLUS I had a lap band taken out. I hated that thing! So my surgery was a little more complicated Than just the gastric sleeve. I wish I had done this 15 years ago. It was not an option for me at the time. You re going to do great!
  3. Congratulations Matty! That is awesome and encouraging!
  4. Maisey, I can't talk for JaysWife but had mine on the 23rd and virtually no pain. Gas will be you biggest obstacle I would suspect. Just follow the direction and you will be fine! Good luck!
  5. I was able to burp it out! That helped a lot, the staple line on my belly has remarkably not created any pain as I expected. I was super sleepy yesterday and only going to take an occasional pain pill today. I took 2 every 4 hours yesterday until bedtime and just took one. I have had no problem with fluids. I was afraid I might be drinking to much but the nurse that called this morning said the more water the better,Stay in touch
  6. I have anxiety as well. I took my clonazapam the night before and they gave me one the night I was in the hospital. That first day you have surgery you will probably sleep a lot. You are going to do great...Don't sweat it!
  7. Hey we have the same surgery date! Day 2 post op today and a tad of belly pa. I am going to take one pain pill instead of 2 and see how that works. Good luck and stay in touch.
  8. Glad you came out of this doing well. My mouth was super dry but I took some dry mouth spray that helped. I was able to drink a lot of water day 1, as matter of fact that is all I have had so far.I also had some gas whch ws uncomfortable. It took me hours to pee. I still feel like I am taking in more liquid than I am expelling. No Nausea, vomiting or pain which has been the biggest surprise so far. Stay in touch!
  9. I am reading that many had nausea and severe pain. Can you share your surgery day experience with me? Thanks
  10. Nothing to it. Follow the instructions by the surgeon and dietician to a "T" and you will be fine. I am 2 days post op with no regrets. Wish I could have done this earlier. Good luck!

  13. I had gas but I just burped it out. It didn't come out the other end Very surprised at the lack of pin today. I my have some pain down the road but not the day after surgery! I also had lap band removed. No problem getting my liquid down today either! Good luck!
  14. Thanks! The only problem I have right now is dry mouth and water retention but neither of those are a major problem. I also had my lap band removed . No pain or hunger yet!
  15. I bought some dry mouth spray for surgery day. Did the hospital let anyone chew SF gum in the hospital after surgery? Crazy question but you can get an answer to just about anything on here! Thanks

  17. I have been constipated for a couple a days and finally had BM followed by a couple of hours of Diarrhea That was brutal. Surgery in 8 hours,,,,Thanks again
  18. My surgeon participates in an enhanced recovery program at the hospital that I had my surgery at. They automatically give Zofran (for nausea) along with other meds like Tramadol for pain so I didn't have much nausea at all. I did have a fair amount of gas pain from the CO2 gas that they use to inflate your abdomen with during the surgery. Not everyone has this though. I got a couple of doses of Dilaudid and that helped a lot! They will have you walk a lot after surgery which also helps with the gas. Good Luck tomorrow!! You got this!!!!
