Thanks hun. Yeah it's been rough working as a nurse during these times. I work in the isolation unit and I kind of figured it was coming.. but was still hopeful... I'm sure it will happen when it needs to happen... right now.. just a little worried with the spike in cases and working mandatory overtime.. its been roughEmily,
I am so sorry to hear that! Mine was postponed several times and it was very difficult to keep the faith and my Momentum forward. You my friend are a nurse and Nurses gave us all hope during this pandemic . Use us to pull you thru!! Prayers being sent your way!

I will be having the sleeve. I don't mind telling my assigned nurses that I'm a nurse. Actually I have some friends working on the floor bariatrics recover.. and I've actually asked my best friend who is a nurse also request that surgery with the surgeon so she will be my or nurse.Emily - I feel the same way!!! My RNYGB is scheduled for July 14th.
I too am an RN - though I won't be telling any of my assigned nurses that while I'm in the hospital. Curious to know if you'd take that same stance?
Congrats to you, though! If you'd like to DM me, I could really use a support buddy. Curious to know which surgery you'll he undergoing as well.

Surgery twinI found out Friday that my date is July 15. It feels like things just got real as I had to do 6 months with a nutritionist and I’ve kind of been putting it out of my mind. Now it’s real and a little scary and a lot exciting!

2 minutes ago, IWantTheDream said:I went to my pre admission testing on Tuesday and I was waiting for them to call me in the waiting room and I was reading the forms they handed me at check in and it had listed the VSG and then the hernia repair n then it said and possible open procedure . I almost had a full blown panic attack. I am hoping that is just in case not something they think is going to happen. My visit with the surgeon isn’t until the 24th so I have to wait until then to ask. Has anyone else seen that listed on there paper work at PAT?
Yes love. They put that in just in case. You will have to sign consents to possible open procedure as most of these procedures are done laparoscopic but surgeons must be prepared to go in openly of complications occur. Therefore u assume the risks when u sign consents.. the case of this happening is rare... but obviously they cannot stop mid laparoscopic procedure and ask u to sign consents for an open procedure lol... be calm and have faith no complications will occur.

As far as the bariatric ones.. probably going to stick my regular routine and add Biotin, Calcium and a probiotic.

Hi ladies I've read all your comments.. sooo exciting to know we are getting surgeries soon.
I started the process back at the end of april.. but because of covid19 everything was just so slow... now in may and june I've had all my appointments and lab work done.. only thing I'm missing is my final nutrition appointment for preop liquid diet on june the 10th.
I'm in Florida I dont know what your insurances required for me it was.
Pre labs (tsh, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, hemoglobin a1c, pt/inr, aptt, CBC, and CMP and lipid panel, h.pylori breath test)
Upper GI Series
Letter of medical necessity from PCP
Two nutrition appointments.
Mental Health Evaluation
I'm excited to get a surgery date for. I called my weight loss coordinator and she said usually after last appointment (nutritionist) it is tentatively scheduled for 3-4 weeks out.. so I'm looking at the first or second week of july.
Ahhhhhh so exciting
July 2020 Surgery anyone?
