thanks for checkin in on me..well i am ok..i had my consult scheduled for today 12/4 only to get to work monday to find out that we are no longer going to be using cigna and that as of 1/09 we are going to be using aetna's insurance.that caused me to have to reschedule my consult til after the 1st and i am now scheduled for the 6th. there was no reason in me going and having them run things thru with cigna if come january it is switching to aetna. :frown: i wont know too much about the plan until it gets closer to the 1st. i can call them but without giving them all the group # etc they wont know exactly what the job picked for the co..

U are not going to believe this! I get to work on Monday to find an email stating that as of 1-09' our company is now going to be using Aetna's Open Access Plus Plan. No more Cigna. I had my consult scheduled for this Thursday 12/4 and now I rescheduled it to 1/6 as there is no need for me to use Cigna now and they start the approval process when come Jan. the insurance changes. I am sooo frustrated. I will know more about the Aetna Ins Policy closer to the middle of this month. I am sooo discouraged!

thanks for ur rely.i do have questions about the band as i am leaning more towards rny because of the fact that i have heard soo much about the band that scares me..it seems like everyone gets a revison to another surgery with the band...is that normal? i am sooo scared of things getting stuck all the time and i am terrified of vomiting and PB-ing all the time...HELP..any advice?

hey girl! i spoke to another rep who told me that wls was excluded unless medically necessary soooo i am sure that mines is going to be considered medically necessary since i have a BMI of 49..i dont have any other comorbities unless they use depression as one...i do have back aches and pain in my legs sometimes...i will mention that to the dr..i have decided to give wade barker a try..i have a consult on 12/4 at 5:45 so atleast i made the 1st step! whooo-hoo....how are u feeling? girl my husband is really stressed as i have been looking at the RNY alot...i hear sooo much about revision etc with the lapband that it scares me...what u think?

thanks for the comment...I am not sure that i am going to have the band..kinda studying it and the rny...my ins told me that wls is totally exclueded unless medically necessary so hopefully my BMI of 48 shld be enuff.

well i have more news..i called cigna and they told me that all wls are excluded unless medically necessary. i think that with me having a BMI of 48-49 that i am hoping will be enough to qualify me for the rny or lapband. i also made my 1st step and made an appt for 12/4 for my consultation.

Yay!!! Thanks for the info...I have not been on a supervised diet in the last past 2 yrs...Is that going to be a problem? Are u saying that u did the 6 mnths with ur Dr's nutritionist and that was ok for the ins co?

So u do think that this all comes from u not eating and chewing slowly? That is what scares me the most..i cant be sick all the time vomiting and all that crap!! What is pbing?

Hmmm..i have heard alot of people say that u must chew chew chew..anything that u cant eat that gets stuck? Also, have u ever had a prob with vomiting or being nauseated?

I called cigna today and they told me that my policy didnt state whether i was covered or not and to have whatever dr that i decide to go to, to call them and they will have the dr to do a pre-determination of benefits and go from there..i dont even know what dr i want to use..researching now...

I called them today and they tld me that my policy didnt show whether or not WLS was approved or not and that I wld have to get my Dr to call in and get a pre-determinatiom of medical necessities and once the Dr gets that back to them then they can go from there...I don't even know where to begin..Not sure what Dr. that I want to go to..I want a good one and one that is going to take time and not rush when it comes to me and all my questions! Can you please take the time to tell me what the 6 mnth period is about and what if u loose weight in that time frame? Does that mean u cant have the surgery then?? SOOOO happy for u!!!

Thanks for the reply! That is what scares me the most is the puking. Not sure that I can deal with that...I didn't even know that you could still have sweets.
