  1. Hey I was told no PP post op until trying the wheys first. There was a list of many wheys though. The reason no PP is because it it is milk based which may make recovery worse (sensitive tummys)

    Anyone for August 2020

Well I am probably in the complication group. I had alot of hurling post op at hospital, my oxy sats were dropping to 89 etc. Girl in the hospital as I was writhing in pain they tried to offer me aromatherapy. I said you got to be kidding me I am going to die. lol. When I first woke from op and all the people were talking to me as they were rolling me places I said Hi and they said oooh shes so soft spoken. And since then my voice has been hoarse like im il. My doctor said i had a small mouth and she had to endoscopy me during surgery so I am guessing that my voice box may be got bumped. Hoping it improves but I am a week post op and it has not so far Anyways, they did a "Ugi" on me at the hospital where I drank radioactive stuff and the nurse said I wasn't going to get to go home that day (4th day) in hospital because I had something called an ileus that was still asleep. I told my surgeon and she said she would handle it and I was released because surgeon allowed but there has been no explanation about ileus. I did have two bowel movements day 6 which didn't hurt at all unlike some of the horror stories I read. There had been a constant gurgle coming from my throat like a frog croaking and I was constantly regurging into my mouth when trying to sleep. I sleep sitting up on couch but would still happen. Having now switched to purees that is much better! Slept in bed last night finally but way elevated. I have pretty rough severe pain below left breast and i have been taking tram morn and night. The doctor ordered a "2 view xray" on my one week followup for the pain but havent heard anything back yet. Weightloss has been working. Talking to some of the other girls in the waiting room I was a bit jealous they didnt have any pain or nothing and each hour was a struggle for me. I take awhile to go from sit to stand due to that left side pain being so bad
  3. I bought so much yummy broth stuff for home better than bullion only to find myself puking up broth post op at hospital 🤣. My pouch likes the coldest cold
  4. I was given go ahead to start puree part at week one surgeon visit. I am having mini egg salads etc it is way better. I was regurgitating that shake stuff all night. It will be hard to get all the sixty in without a shake though still trying to figure that one out since i regurg the shakes

    Crappy Dietician

Well I think it is because you are past the beginning post op phase. They have these stages in this program where you are supposed to start trying to eat real food for your protein. I am only a few days post op and get in two shakes but even with that I feel like hurling at the end of the day. Water is hard to get in too. Did you not see the food stages before you chose that program before your surgery because different programs have different eating schedules? I saw one guy who allowed green smoothies and offered his own recipes post op on youtube. There were alot of options for programs to join and the eating plan was all laid out in printouts for me prior to operation and I had to have three visits with the dietician prior to surgery where they laid out the rules. Did you not have that requirement to where the expectations were unexpected?

    Water after Surgery

workplace cannot deny medical necessity items. this is also true for diabetics who need water to prevent ketoacidosis. consider talking to human resources instead of boss.

    Water after Surgery

it really is like that u pretty much sip the water or protein shake 24/7. im only a few days post op. It probably gets better for some. its not because the not drinking stalls its because if you dont u will have to go to hospital for an iv fluids which nobody wants to do (covid)

    Choosing between surgeries

comorbities. if you have something called diabetes/prediabetes its more likely to resolve after bypass than sleeve statistically. I have gerd which is a counter indication for sleeve- it can get worse with sleeve. Consider you body's specific conditions so you can come out with best health

    Meal Prep

I am only a few days post op. Meal prep was handy preop. Right after surgery using the small containers (1 ounce disposable from amazon) reminds you to sip and not gulp. I have 1 ounce and 2 ounce disposable for the puree phase so i can make a batch of something and divide it out. I also have some nondisposable plastic 4 ounce ones from target (2$ for six) that can be microwaved for hot foods. I haven'tused them yet though
