  1. Having had a serious weight loss years ago, and having had a serious hair loss, my dermatologist recommended taking Biotin. I use a Hair, Skin, Nails, gummie. I have had wonderful results. It takes about two months to see results. It will be short hairs coming in, not breakage. I don’t have a widening part any longer.
  2. Since I got no counseling beyond a sheet of paper, that said I could eat , lightly, after a month. I went from shakes and soups to regular food. I was eating high protein, very small portions— 800 calories. I was not losing for a month. I started using ProTracker, Keto/Calorie. I stay under 1100c., and track every morsel. I keep carbs under 50, and fats low. I have lost my desire for junk. I’m surprised I haven’t s sprouted feathers, I eat so much chicken. It’s slow, but almost steady. I had a serious leg injury, and my mobility is not yet where it should be, but I try to do what I can. It’s just good to no longer be controlled by food. Good Luck to you.
  3. This site is so awkward for chatting. I think I posted Lisa, but my post was for Chalcrow
  4. Lisa, you’ve come too far to lust for other people’s food. I have seen too many people go through bypass surgery, and put the weight back, way more rapidly, than the rate it came off. I think that’s why I put off having the sleeve procedure for so long. Get yourself together. You wouldn’t lust for someone else’s partner, and act on it! As for the hair, I’ve experienced hair loss before, after strict dieting, or surgeries. My part was getting wider and wider. At the suggestion of my dermatologist, I started taking a Hair, Skin, & Nails formula, gummy vitamin, with a high amount of Biotin. It takes about 8 weeks. You should see new, baby hairs coming in. It’s not breakage. enjoy your socializing. Savor the company. Forget the food.
  5. Chalcrow: I know what you mean about “head hunger”. I still can’t overeat, in one sitting. I can only manage three ounces of protein, and then I get the signal. But I am aware that I could graze myself into oblivion. I use ProTracker, Keto/calorie app. It’s free. I try to track every morsel. It makes me accountable to myself. If I’m having a boring, uneventful day, and I know I’m going to be looking for a sweet, or savory snack in the evening, I’ll keep my caloric intake low during the day, so I can have my Parmesan wisps, or slimfast caramel crunch, fat bomb, later. If I know I want a high calorie item, like a hot dog, I’ll make sure I have only two ounces of protein, like chicken, egg or tuna, for lunch. WW didn’t work for me. There was too much freedom. The fruits became a problem.
  6. Wow! You're only a month ahead of me. That’s a great number. I’m only down about 40, and almost all came off my legs, which were thin to begin with. But the key word is “down”. I had a gastric sleeve procedure. It has worked wonders for my cravings, and binging. I no longer have the desire to do any of this. I can only hope that it stays that way. I’m 71, now, and hope to have some good, healthy years ahead. The pound up and down is daunting. I try not to let it get to me. I know I’m doing what I’m supposed to. Rome wasn’t built in a day! It took four years for me to put this lard on, after I broke my leg rather badly, so I’ll just have to be a bit more patient. Continue the good work! We’re worth it!
  7. Thank you for your support. I am not really upset about the rate. Already, my legs look like I haven’t pulled up my panty hose. The belly is still firm and fat! I am curious to check my blood levels. I went for a panel. The idiots checked thyroid, and antibodies, but neglected the CBC panel! Now the lab is overbooked. Stupid.
  8. I’m being monitored by my cardiologist. In these times I don’t want to be visiting any medical offices, unless it’s an absolute necessity. Hopefully, I’ll be changing locations within the next six weeks, and seek a support group at that location. Im pleased to just not have the uncontrollable appetite anymore. Thanks for your reply.
  9. I had my surgery 3/9, then got no support. Was stalled the first month. It was more than frustrating. I think I’m down 40 pounds, including the presurgical loss. I had hoped it would be faster. I reached out to the doctor. All he said was, Do you want to be a pile of skin?” The office support is non existent. I am using the ProTracker, Keto/calorie, free app. If I go no carb, I stall. Too much protein, I have a gout attack. Have been diligent about keeping carbs under 50, Calories under 1000. Exercise is sporadic, as I had a serious leg injury, in April. I have no desire to binge, which is a big plus, no cravings for anything. I’m doing all I can, and focus on that. A pound-a pound and a half, a week, will have to do. It’s the mystery up a pound, that’s hard to take.
  10. Between the presurgical loss, and what I’ve eked out about 34 pounds. I am disappointed, but at least I no longer binge and have stupid cravings. I have such a long way to go, I’m fighting the blues, all the time. I’ve developed some heart beat issues since the surgery. The surgeon is not good about questions, so I’m seeing a cardiologist. I’m not moving much, because the meds are still not kicking in.
  11. I had my surgery March 9th, then all the lockdown started. The surgeon did a brief tele conf, a couple of times. Was really abrupt. The office was closed to questions. I had shakes and soups for the first two weeks. The first month the scale hadn’t moved, except one day to go up two pounds, that stayed for three weeks. Very frustrating, to say the least. I got a free app for my phone, called ProTracker. Counts calories and nutrients. I found when I went to 1100 calories, things started moving. I eat very small portions of Greek yogurt, chicken, lean pork chop, tuna, garden meatballs, for main meals. Supplement with small fruit portion, or the bariatric bars and snacks. Absolutely no support. Need someone to tell me I’m doing this right.

I was in A-Fib several times the week after my surgery. I had been on a beta blocker prior to surgery, but went off it, substituting another BP med, so I could take the stress test. I thought I was dying. Went back on the beta blocker, and the new drug as well. Pulse went back to my normal, under 50. But my BP is still high. Surgery was 3/8. Have a cardiologist appointment 4/8. My surgeon has been of no use. He just says it will go down, when you  lose your  weight.  He didn’t even examine my incisions. Did his job, not interested now.

Wow that’s not good at all. I’ve been monitoring it. Trying to up my water levels and potassium levels to see the outcome.
