    Good afternoon everyone,

I had my surgery on 3/11/20 and been with sharp pain on incession on the right where stomach was taken out. How long will it take for pain to leave. Anyone please??

I had a mini bypass March 16th and have only just been able to lie down on my right side. I prop myself up on a pillow to make it comfortable.

The pain relief helps but the bruising i had was pretty bad so that made sleep awkward.

For me it's if I take enough bites to actually feel full, or don't chew enough. I can only eat enough to feel nearly full, if you know what I mean. Since I had surgery I've never felt entirely full, just satisfied. I guess that's the point where "normal" people stop eating, I'd always eat until I felt like I'd explode!

I'm 6 months out and I got the foamies last week at work, after eating chicken for lunch. Spent 2 hours feeling like I was going to vomit and spitting up saliva.

I used to eat until the point of pain, but i was deep in food addiction.

Maybe i did eat too much too fast?

Keep up on your Water intake If it's hard to stomach plain Water drink it with an additive like crystal light or something like that, also drinking warm water helps it go down easier. Use some Miralax, or utilize Milk of magnesia (the plain one.) Keep moving as much as possible. You got this. Need help or have questions? I check this forum once or twice a week if I can help I'll be happy to. You used to be me.

    Thank you 😊

This is normal. If it continues past the first few then consult your Dr. But it should gradually go away. You did just have your whole digestive system rerouted.

It seems to have stopped now but only going to the bathroom every few days. Guess I need to keep on the sennokot Constipation relief, kinda hurts to go :(

  5. Tried to have 4 strawberries for Breakfast this morning, but i don't think it agreed with me. Not long after i was vomiting white foam 🤢

I felt better about an hour or so later. Maybe it was too soon? I'm almost 3wks out of mini bypass surgery.

Anyone else had this? I'm one of those people who absolutely refuses to throw up and will fight it to the end.

Thank you, that's what i was thinking after i finished freaking out 🤣

  7. Sorry for the tmi.

I'm 11 days post op from a one anastomosis gastric bypass and have just managed to go to the bathroom for the first time since the morning of surgery.

Is it normal for there to be a significant amount of dark blood the first time you go? I read up that it could be old blood in the intestinal tract from the surgery but it could be a staple leak or bleed internally too?

I don't have pain or any symptoms, such as fever or difficulty eating/drinking so I'd like to know if it's common before I call my surgeon's emergency line tonight?

    Thsnk you ❤

  8. I had a mini gastric bypass on Monday 16th March. Had a rough recovery in hospital after the biggest of my port wounds bled Tuesday night. My surgeon cleaned the blood that pooled under the skin and replaced my staples. I'm horribly bruised and swollen. I'm still struggling to lie down, get comfy or sleep and ny clips are itchy as hell.

My question is, how normal is it to want to cry your eyes out after? It's not a pain thing. I am sore and uncomfortable but the crying comes on suddenly and is uncontrollable sometimes. It's been every day since i got home Thursday. I get that I've been through a traumatic experience but anyone else find themselves crying like a baby for no reason?
