  1. I felt the exact same way! 16 days of liquids was rough, but finally being able to eat some non-liquid food helped me with continuing to get the liquids in. I'm entering week 5 and just started feeling "hungry" again recently, which seems new and interesting! I had to change up my "eating" schedule to curb this. Now I eat something small about 4 times per day, and that seems to work for me (and allow me to drink 64oz without doing it 30m before, during, or after a meal!).
  2. I'm entering week 5 post-op, and I had a pretty easy go at first too. I couldn't drink more than about 30oz of fluid in the first week, so I did get an infusion of fluids about a week post-surgery. It took me until week 3 to get a full 64oz of fluid and 60+g of protein per day. Since then, I have had no issues. I did hit a stall last week - that was depressing, but since then have lost a few more pounds (the people in the forums were right!). As long as you follow the diet and introduce things like they say - it should work!
  3. I didn't start to feel "hungry" until about a week ago - and it wasn't like how I would be hungry before surgery. Weirdly enough, I can tell when I start to get "full" because of the increased pressure. I also will get hiccups for like 5 seconds... it's weird. I've also heard a bunch of people say that their noses run when they feel full!

    Pain Under left Boob ?

I've literally had this my whole life! I always tell people it feels like my lung is being punctured by my rib or something. I have no idea what it is. I assume it is just some kind of a muscle spasm.

    Protien

I'm 5 weeks out and I still use Genepro protein powder at least once a day. It's a tiny scoop of flavorless, fully dissolvable protein. I put it in water and mix it with some crystal light drops. One scoop is 30g. I will also mix it into other recipes (you can bake with it up to 400 degrees). So when I make ricotta bites I add a scoop or two. It helps just boost all the things I eat with extra protein.
  6. I had a hard time with the protein shakes - they were all sweet and blech. I ended up switching to flavorless, dissolvable protein (Genepro) and just mixing it in with my water (and then adding Crystal Light drops). Since one tiny scoop was 30g of protein, it made it a lot easier! I still can't drink the sweet protein drinks. I'm entering my 5th week post-op, so I finally get to do soft foods and more meats. Definitely excited for new flavors!
  7. That's good to know! I don't know too many people that have had the surgery and my husband, while supportive, doesn't quite understand what I am going through! I'm definitely glad that I found these forums!
  8. Congratulations on getting/staying sober! I had my sleeve done on 2/11 and am only down about 12 lbs. I also feel like kind of a failure. I hear the same thing "the weight just falls off" (specifically regarding just after surgery) and I am not experiencing that. I'm exactly following the diet (and have recently started to become "hungry"). I have just started walking, etc. outside - but get tired after about 2 blocks. I'm starting to worry myself - what if I just spent all this money and I don't lose the weight? As an emotional eater - that is taking a toll on me. I want to eat stuff (especially bad stuff) but I haven't (and can't). People say there can be stalls even in the first 6 weeks, so I'm hoping it's just that!
  9. Hi All - new to the group. I had my surgery 2/11 - am still in the "smooth foods" phase. I seem to have hit a stall on the weight loss after only about 15 total pounds. It feels kind of frustrating. I know that it is supposed to be normal to stall - but it feels kind of depressing! I have just started to walk more in the last week or so - before it was too tiring to walk more than about a block. Hopefully the weight loss kicks up again soon.
