  1. yay! the scale is still moving for me, sometimes i think it isn't but when i look back over the past few weeks and months, it definitely is averaging 2 pounds a week! i am in a tight 12, but a 12 nonetheless, and i want it tight now so that i won't have to buy new jeans for awhile!

    my mom is doing well! she started chemo and is doing better than most with that, as far as not being nauseated. thank you so much for keeping her (and me!) in your thoughts/prayers!

    post your before & during/after pictures

    so i finally sucked it up and posted these underwear before/after comparison pics in my profile (well- only half sucked it up, because its still a private album!) the difference is crazy. if you are my friend on lap band talk you have permission to see it! and if you want to see them just add me and i will let you see-- just dont want gross underwear pics of me exposed to the world wide web. only you guys that i talk to on here, who i know will be... kind. haha
  6. omg thats so crazy--- PLANO!! my hometown! i am now like, creepily envisioning you guys married with your kids growing up and going to my HIGH SCHOOL! hahaha that just blows my mind. what are the odds?!?!

    where in dallas is he from? plano? because then we might actually know some of the same people or something and that would be REALLY weird!

    well anyways, sooo glad you are so happy! its just too bad i dont live in texas anymore and only visit like 3 or 4 times a year..

    i'm so glad! you have been doing REALLY WELL so far with your weightloss! you will be at your goal in no time i bet :w00t: my insurance would not cover weightloss surgery for me because according to their scales, i was a 39 BMI (at the time of surgery I was a 38, and when I first looked into the band like two years ago my BMI was about 36), and I only had one co-morbidity that they listed as acceptable. boo! so in the end I ended up paying for it with the money I had set aside for college.... but only because I am graduating a year early and have the extra money. On the plus side-- I should be pretty close to my goal by the time I graduate in August!

    Calories

    32 pounds since november is still very good! remember that! even if you are stalled right now, over 4 months that is an 8 pound loss each month, so an average of about 2 pounds a week! thats exactly where you want to be for healthy, easily sustainable weightloss.

    April Fools Weightloss Challenge

    yay to everyone for either reaching their goal or getting damn close to it! as far as the next challenge goes, i have seen the donut day challenge on here and the shrink de mayo challenge. you can also make your own if you'd like! pick the date that you next want to work towards.... july 4 is just too far away!

    ok so seriously!?! no april fools? i saw that relationship status change on facebook about you and your friend but based on your comments about it i thought it was just you two playing a trick on your friends or something.

    so if you say its legit then thats AWESOME! who cares if you plateaued for a bit if you are in a happy relationship! so when are you moving to texas, and to where specifically? you know how much i love my home state...

    Calories

    i would say try eating a few more calories-- somewhere around 1000 or 1100 may be right for your body size to lose. if you don't get in enough calories, your body goes into "starvation mode" and conserves your fat calories, etc, so that you dont die. sometimes your body gets in a rut too, and your metabolism slows down, so any shift in your eating or routine should affect this. you may also want to try increasing your Water intake if you havent already, and increasing your Fiber if you aren't getting the daily recommended amount in. hope this helps! ive only had a few plateaus since my surgery a few months ago, but they never lasted for more than 1.5 weeks because i tried these things.

    okay... let me just say-- i have been in ONEDERLAND for one whole day.... and it... feels... AWESOME!!! its so crazy that just one pound difference makes you feel soooo different! its like, an entirely different mindset and i have yet to wrap my mind around the concept that I SERIOUSLY WEIGH UNDER 200 POUNDS. just being at the rec center and typing in your weight on the treadmill and typing it in with a ONE first-- or not weighing as much as when a skinny person talks about a really heavy person ("they must have weighed like TWO HUNDRED POUNDS!" as if that is some far-off number)... seriously... guys. i thought my scale was playing an april fools day joke on me. but its legit. i cant wrap my head around this yet!! i didnt think it would be that exciting but now that the day is finally here, it really IS!

    don't cook

    while i definitely tend to cook a big amount of lean ground beef in some fashion one day a week and then eat it for the next few days, there are other things i eat pre-packaged too. i just make sure to get it as healthy as i can. for example: one meal i have been eating a lot lately is tyson grilled chicken breast strips (sold as a salad topper, but i dont like to make salads at home because i cant eat all of the vegetables before they go bad). i eat the chicken with a piece of sliced cheese (reduced fat usually). the chicken comes in a bag, two 3oz portions inside (usually spreads over 3 meals for me) and has a few different flavors.... about 100-120 calories for 3oz and not the worst when it comes to sodium. with a piece of cheese about 60-80 calories, you are looking at about a 180 calorie meal with ZERO carbs!!! i eat mine cold, but you can microwave it if you like. all it takes is like 10-15 seconds. delicious dinner... no cooking. though it does look kind of funny to eat! i'm sure you can make something work. :thumbdown:

    Calorie Tracker

    thedailyplate.com is the site i have used for free for the past year or so, im addicted and rarely skip a day. however, i think the site is now officially merged with livestrong.com -- its the same thing basically, just a different layout. i've gotten used to the old website, which is why i don't feel like switching over, but you might like the new website. :thumbdown: also, they have groups on the site you can join to look at what other people are eating-- there are even a few lap band groups on there. hope this helps! i totally believe tracking your calories is the best way to help us lose weight with the band! too bad if your hubby thinks you are obsessed..... i mean, if you are anything like me, you ARE obsessed, but its a good obsession to have!
  16. i'm joining in! i need a short challenge, so 5 weeks sounds good to me! i would like to lose 10lbs from my last challenge goal weight of 202 (the april fools challenge-- ends tomorrow! and im already down a little!) my graduation is the week after cinco de mayo, so i would like to buy a cute dress to wear for that :biggrin: start: 202 current: 201.2 goal: 192!!!

    April Fools Weightloss Challenge

    congrats to everyone who has already reached goal! one more day people! :biggrin: I came home from a week of spring break with no scale around me and I am now under my goal by about a pound! I knew it wasn't an april fools joke because it's only march 31...
  20. im doing well thanks for asking! my mom is alright, considering the circumstances. she starts chemo on tuesday and is being very brave, but the doctors and everyone are very optimistic so we are too. :) thanks so much for asking! hope all is well on your end-- because you are looking fabulous! :) jane

  21. you look so great! congrats! isnt it a great feeling to be shopping in "normal" stores again? and not embarrassed to tell the sales person your size when they want to help you look for stuff?
  22. my hairstylist has the band and used to have the same problem. she usually has a protein shake with her, but i know that sometimes she will keep something to snack on in the back and go for 2-5 minutes in between appointments to chew a little, come back in half an hour, chew a little more, etc. hope this helps and good luck!

    woohoooo drew thats awesome! yeah you look so good in your pics-- but i hate to tell you, its time for some smaller sizes again! i know, horrible right? haha today i went shopping to get some new jeans. SIZE FREAKING TWELVE! i was waiting for this moment for a long time.... the reason size 12 means so much to me is because the last vivid memory i have being in this size was 5th grade. TEN YEARS AGO! i only remember it because my friend (Who was a normal kid and super skinny) goes "im wearing a size 12".. meaning kids sizes. and i go "me too!" all surprised until i realized that i was actually in adult sizes. it was kind of embarrassing at the time. NOW IT ISNT EMBARASSING!! i fit into size 12 jeans at both Gap and Express. wow... this is going to take some time to get used to! but not too much time. :rolleyes2:
