  1. It's time.

    Any new surgery dates yet?

Thanks. At least you have a date.
  2. With so many surgeries being postponed in March and probably April, are the doctors giving you new dates, if so how long out? A month? Or are they just saying," not now"?
  3. i was postponed today. I'm not surprised, but feel disappointed.
  4. We are right there with you.  A lot of time and work waiting for this and  boom.... but no end in sight and the uncertainty is sooo hard.  But,  I do remind myself that people are dying and being in a hospital isn't a safe place to be and I rather be fat and alive than thin and dead.

  5. I received this today from Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor. All elective surgeries are postponed until after 4/10/20. Our directors are reassessing this timeline every day since things are changing very quickly. As of now you are still scheduled for 4/15/20, but if that changes our schedulers will be reaching out to as soon as we can. I think I'd be more comfortable waiting at this point anyway.

    April 2020

Yes, this makes perfect sense. And yes, some people may drop out. My guess is nothing is going to happen for at least 30-45 days then they would take the March people first. This is my third time going through this. 10 years ago I was scheduled and was cancelled because I had breast cancer. The second time I was a month from surgery and the doctor stopped accepting the insurance so I'm not surprised this happened. I could say it's not meant to be, but I'm NOT going to say that and will wait some more. grrrrr

    Food Scale

Wondering if and what brand food scale people used after surgery.

    April 2020

HI, I'm scheduled for April 15th and pre-op testing and diet starts April 1. I'm just hoping it's not postponed.

Having or had surgery in mexico 2020

Can you get back into the US after the surgery? I thought the board was closed?
  10. I'm soo sorry. So disappointing to work and wait so long.
  11. I'm in Michigan with two-week pre-op diet starting on april 1st, surgery scheduled for April 15. As of today, it's still on, but I am prepared if they postpone it. I just don't want to be on day 12 of the dreaded diet just to be told it's cancelled.
  12. I'm so sorry. It seems like most are getting postponed.

    Possible delay of appointment

    good point, thanks

    Possible delay of appointment

My doctor had scheduled a group meeting to discuss the pre-op diet and post op diet etc, but now have changed it from a 4 hour group to a one hour individual session. I don't know how they expect to cover 4 hours of info into one hour. I'm scheduled for mid april surgery and expect it to be delayed, but who knows. I think everyone is on a day by day life.
  15. Wondering if you had your surgery and how you are feeling.

    Dehydrated And Low Blood sugar

Can you get kidney stones if you don't drink water?

    Dehydrated And Low Blood sugar

I haven't had surgery yet, but aren't the flavoured waters supposed to help get the water down?
  18. I'm new to this site and wow! people seem to know so much and really have a handle on drinking all 64 oz and no problems with the two-week pre-op diet. Are people really this perfect? How am I going to be able to do all this? There just seems to be so much to take in..... do this, don't do that, start a food journal, protein, more protein, take calcium but not with multi vit, drink water, but not before meals, yadda yadda yadda. Feeling overwhelmed.

    overwhelmed

Thanks, everyone, I feel better. I'm going to try and break it down into manageable changes, one or two things at a time. Yes, a journal, a simple chart and/or a binder are good ideas. Something tangible to keep track rather than just in my head.

    Gym

Generally, How long after surgery can you start pretty easy looking senior fitness classes at the gym?

    3 month supervised diet

I am not restricted with any food, but we set a few goals each month, such as getting off caffeine ( hard to do), giving up alcohol ( easy to do), increase water to 60 oz ( I started at 30 and at 50 oz now), start exercising and maintain it, try out different protein shakes, add fruit and veggie into my diet consistently, add multi vit and the calcium citrate pills to lunch and dinner. And to not drink for 30minutes before and 30 minutes after each meal. This is very hard to do, but I'm trying.
