  1. I have a few ... :w00t:

Back in high school there was this guy I had a crush on that would always call me "thunder thighs" ... and back then I was only a size 12!

Easter last year during an Easter egg hunt, my middle son was mauled by a dog so while we were in the ER with him (as he was getting his head stapled back together), the doctor started making "small talk" with me and as we were talking about my 3 boys he says "and you have another one on the way ... do you know if this one will be a girl?" ... Ummm, I wasn't pregnant.

A couple weeks later I was having somewhat of a conversation with my Mother-in-law (I never really liked the woman) and she's telling me about some family member of hers that lives back in Indiana. She's explaining to me that this woman is "SO BIG" and then she says "well, she's about your size" (I wanted to smack her )

Then of course, after my band surgery was the comment from my disapproving husband (who was against me having the surgery, against me going out of the country for it and didn't talk to me or sleep in the same bed with me for over a month afterwards ...) he says I took the "easy way out" and I could have lost the weight on my own but instead I did it the "lazy person's way" ... That comment started WW3 in my household! :tt1:

If that is your pic then can I just say this.... you are beautiful! Is your husband serious! Are you still with that jerk?.... because you can do a whole lot better for yourself than that.

  2. Thank you for replying. I am recovering from my non op :cursing: I went for surgery on Friday morning and they discovered my liver is too big, even though I was on a low carb high Protein diet beforehand. Will get back to you again at the moment I have to rush off and joy of joys get my slimfast drink ready... it's my only highlight of the day right now... lol...

  3. I am back from hospital and I didn't get banded yesterday... my liver is still too big  The surgeon was lovely and he explained that it's one of those things... like some people are born with big feet I'm born with a big liver. So I have a month to get it down... He says I am not the first and another lady had the same as me but she got banded a month later. I am sore and glued.:)

  4. I am a stay at home Mum married to Alan my lovely Michigan hubby... I have to lose about 10 stone :frown: I am new to all this and would like for someone please to help me avoid all those pitfalls and to guide me to success please. My hobby is going to America and visiting Disneyworld! Yay! Been 4 times and going again in 2009. I do have a goal this year though... I want to be able to fit into a plane seat comfortably because I have three weeks in Mexico coming up in September... so I have/want to do this. Thank you for reading XXXXXX Helen X BTW I forgot to say... I am 45 years young!

  5. What should I do to really make sure this op goes ahead next Friday please?... Because I seriously don't want/need them to say we didn't do the op because of the liver  I have a three week holiday in Mexico, with hubby and daughter, in September... so I have a goal to be thinner on the plane and looking abit better in my cossie.

  6. hi leslie,

I'm also not telling many people about the op, my mother and my sister and that it. If people are going to be negative, there gonna be negative. But as for me i don't have the time to listen to it...!

They dont live my life, or go through what i have to go through, or suffer from the effects of the weight i carry around. So stuff the lot of them.

They had better move outta my way , cos GG is coming through, no matter what they say or do!! :smile2:

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

:thumbs_up:Yaaaaay! High Fives all round! You go girl!

  7. Welcome to the forum... I only joined last week too. I am getting banded on the NHS luckily, on the 13th June so I am on my liver shrinking countdown. Glad to hear it all went well for you.
