Had my op on Wednesday and it is so painful I cannot lie down to sleep, I fear if I did I would never get back up again. The wound pain is horrendous. I'm guessing it's where the port is, that's the most painful one of all. It feels like a searing hot pain if I turn or get on and off the bed. Luckily I didn't have gas problems but this is so painful wondering when it will ease off and when I will be able to lie down to sleep because I am getting a sore patch at the base of my spine

Also so I don't ever have to hear again.... You have such a pretty face.....

Thank you Steve X I am taking each day at a time... I am having liquids only but finding it a struggle to get it all in so I don't force it. I am so far having strained thin Soups and Protein shakes and Vitamins and Biotin for the hair. I bought cod liver oil with added Vitamins and bleurgh spit spit.... never touching that hideous stuff ever again.
Tomorrow I am making home made Soups that I can thin out because tinned Soup is beginning to all taste the same now.... have been on ww Soup for almost 6 weeks now, pre op.

Hi there.. I was banded by Mr Leeder just two days ago... I was on ward 311 and I had fantastic care. I am thrilled he was able to do it this time around because the first time Professor Larvin couldn't do it, my liver was still too big and my liver is predominately on my left side where everyone elses is on their right side
Mr Leeder had allowed extra time for me so he could take it slowly he said... he also said it was still difficult to do because of the location of my liver. But I was so happy to hear those words when I came round... The operation went well... this time... PHEW! I have had the best care ever thank god for the NHS.

I am pre op and have failed one op already due to a large liver  even though I stuck to the pre op diet. So to help myself I am on my treadmill now every day... at first I could only go slowly and for 5 minutes. I gradually built up.... that is the only way to do it, you can't go into it full pelt, you just can't. Some days I don't feel like doing it but I think to myself... I am doing this for my health, I so badly want this op and I can't go on like this anymore in this body. So up off the couch I get, turn the tv off.. put on some music and turn my treadmill on. Yes I purchased a treadmill and it cost loads so it has to get used or I have wasted my money on an expensive clothes airer. But once I have done it I feel positive and glad I got up off my butt. I go for my second attempt at surgery so please pray for me that it goes ahead this time. If it doesn't I don't know what plan B will be?

OMG this is scary... I hope to God this woman is ok

Can you be *burped* like a baby? Just wondering because if we can then I will get hubby to do it for me when I get banded.
-
Well this thread has been an eye opener for me. I am due to be banded on the 16th July and although I have been given instructions to have just liquids for 4 weeks post op I didn't actually know why. But now I do know and thank you for the information here, it encourages me to be even more determined to try as hard as I possibly can to help myself. I really don't want any slippage now or in the future

I read about 2 weeks ago someone having watermelon and it stuck  So I would be cautious.

Wow that's very informative thank you.

This is what I think and I always speak my mind. IF I had been able to have lap band surgery at 200lbs or indeed even known about it then, then I would not have gotten as big as I am now If you have the money and you need it then go for it. BUT don't do it because you are just too lazy... you have to have a real reason for doing it I think... like you know you are never going to get slimmer without one. Because it would be better for your health to get banded sooner rather than later. JMO

Yes it just happened to me in the UK Luckily I have a new date... it is soul destroying to know I was thisclose to being banded
-
I have been to Rhodes, it is a four hour journey to get there from the UK. I'm thinking about DVT so soon after an op? If you do go make sure you get up and walk about, also don't have ice in your drinks you don't want to get sick and brush your teeth in bottled Water. Just be careful for yourself.... it's clean and all that but different bugs may make you ill.

my husband and i were banded the same day. same as you; got fluffy after the I do's were said and our extremely active sex life dropped off significantly - and it was more on his part. he was extremely self conscious & unhappy with his weight gain.fast forward 8 months and it's back to our courting days, he's a teenager with the constant grabbing/touching/kissing - very affectionate. he made goal in 6months (hate men loose faster:tongue:), and i'm getting close - the weightloss has made a HUGE difference in our relationship - not just with sex.
Ohhhhhhhhh! He made THAT goal...... phew! ROFLMAO.... I read it wrong.....
-
And that will teach me.... a sweet lil thing from the UK.... to see what my USA sisters are getting up to....

I'm sorry but I couldn't help but laugh when I read your message. I was making dinner for my hubby and parents the other night and without even thinking about it, I popped a piece of romaine lettuce into my mouth while making the salad. Boy did I make a mistake!!! That sucker took 45 mins to get down and it hurt like hell!!! Evil lettuce! hahahaAlso, the other night, I had a piece of watermelon....now I know I'm not supposed to be having these things but I'm at about wit's end with this mushie diet already!!! My doctor's diet is alot stricter than most people's that I've read on here!!! 3rd and 4th week is only oatmeal, cottage and riccotta cheese and mashed potatoes!!!:tt1: So it's been really hard not to stray. Anyhow...I ended up having a major PB...I finally know what PB and SLIMING is...and it was gross!!! But I have to say, I did feel better afterwards. It just sucks cuz I love watermelon...and I'm not sure if I'm ever gonna want to have it again. I just hope I didn't do any damage to my band during my healing process. :tt1:
This band journey is gonna be one hell of a ride...
Good luck to you and hope you're feeling better!
Gosh... you'd think watermelon would go down real easy

I wondered why there were *pee* pads on my bed Now I know why!

I am from the UK. I am allowed to eat a small amount pre op. As long as it's following my diet sheet I am allowed to eat.
Having to sit up to sleep...
