  1. I want to fit in the chairs at the dollar movie theater and not be pinched the whole movie. I want to be able to cross my legs. I want to eat out and not feel like everyone is thinking "she shouldn't be eating at all". I want to have children. I want to go shopping at the grocery store and not feel like I'm being judged. I want to buy clothes in "normal" sizes. I want to stop wearing reducer bras. I want to feel comfortable in my own bathtub. I want to go to reunions with friends and shock them all by how good I look. I don't want to fake buckling up because the seatbelt is too small for me. I want to feel sexy I want to actually look good in a stylish swimsuit. I want to wear heels without my feet wanting to fall off. I WANT TO BE HEALTHY!!!!!!!!!
  2. I'm not even going to be banded for a month and I am already addicted!!! I am on the computer a dozen times a day reading blogs and seeing the new posts. I think I'm hopeless since I am so early on!! :)
  3. I am getting banded next month and am hoping for someone I can contact with my random questions, and share my insecurities with. I live in SLC.
  4. Call your doc now!!! The pangs may be nothing, but it may be something, and better safe then sorry!!!! About your binge eating, from what I have heard it may take a while to get the proper restriction. Don't give up yet, go outside and take a walk at a park, or put on some of your favorite music and dance by yourself, something to make you feel good! Good luck!! Our prayers are with you!!! :cursing:
  5. Good luck, it's the waiting thing that gets us isn't it?
  6. I appreciate the replies. I thought it would be sad if I spent so much time and money to just have it out in 2-5 years. Thanks again!!
  7. I am getting banded next month but still have a lot of questions. One of the big ones is, How long do you wait after you have lost the weight to have the band removed? Do you even get it removed normally? is it 2 years, is it 10? Anyone have experience there?
  8. Don't stop now!!! It may cost a little more, and your husband is probably just worried. You have come this far, you can get through it!!! Don't let this set-back stop you!!!
  9. Sorry to hear about your Grandmother. But congratulations on the loss with surgery and such a stressful time!! I will be banded next month, but I know that stress will be a factor.
  10. you could always go with the popular NO BOYS ALLOWED!!!! LOL!!
  11. I have only told my family, my husband(of course) and my two best friends about my surgery. I don't want to tell my in laws because they know someone who has had a bad experience with lapband. I don't want them to know until I feel comfortable telling them. My husbands sister is the one I worry about the most though. I have always felt she was uncomfortable around me because I am overweight. She isn't super skinny, but she is on the thinner side of healthy. But I am worried that she will think I was too lazy and let myself get this bad on my own. I'm only 23!!! most of the bad choices I made were when I was young and inexperienced!!! I didn't understand what I was doing to myself! I have tried to lose the weight, but it always comes back and then some. I can't do it alone, I NEED help on this. I need a tool to help me reach a healthy weight! Anyway, I guess all this was to say that I don't feel comfortable telling anyone yet, and I'm maybe a little ashamed. Has anyone else felt this way???

  14. I need to schedule one of those too. I am self pay on my banding, but I feel tired all the time too. Unfortunatley the weight is probably the factor in the apnea, so good luck. I hope your insurance company sees lapband as a solution!!!
  15. I'm not banded yet, but I have read a LOT on the forums, and from what I hear it may take a while for the doctor and you to find your "sweet spot", where you feel restriction, and can get some food down. DON'T GIVE UP!!!!! It may take longer than you thought, but it is worth it!!!!
  16. I thought about having this done several months ago, but I knew there was no way my insurance would cover it, and we don't have that kind of money. Hubby and I are paying off medical bills from his 2 knee surgeries last year. So I put it on the back burner..... waaaaayyyy back. I had decided it would never happen and was starting to think I would be obese and unhealthy the rest of my life. But my Mother approached me last month and offered my Dad's bonus from work to pay for it. Could anyone have better parents??? Mine are not rich by any means, but say that my health is something worth paying for. They are the best parents in the world!!! Just thought I would let you all know what a blessing this really is going to be for me!! Because of this surgery I may become more fertile and able to get pregnant, and by losing the weight I will be able to run and play with my children, and not have them be embarrassed because I'm the "fat mom". I will be able to walk up a flight of stairs without being winded. I will be able to fasten my seatbelt without sucking it all in. Planes will be a breeze, as well as roller-coasters. I am looking forward to trying my hardest to use this gift I have been given, to change my life.

  18. Just thought I'd say hi to my fellow July bandsters!! I will be getting my band on July 16th from Dr; Kirshenbaum in Denver. I live in Salt Lake, so it won't be too far. Hmmm..... info on me.... I am self pay (kind of) My parents have generously offered to pay for my banding. Which is AMAZING!!! Because my hubby and i are poor college students and still paying off medical bills for his knee surgeries last year. Could anyone have better parents?!! I am looking forward to chatting with you all and good luck on your bandings JULY!!!!
  19. Is there anyone out there who has had a normal delivery with a band in? My hubby and I are thinking about waiting to have a baby for a while after I get banded, but I still have questions. I saw a lot of women talking on here about having c-sections and I really don't want one unless absolutely necessary, so.... Any help?
  20. I actually haven't even had my phone consult yet. I am going to ask lots of questions about that though.

So I have scheduled my appointment for surgery and am SO excited!! It will be on July 16th. I really feel that this will change my life. Not that my life is bad, but my health is. So if anyone is out there reading this and wants to give me any info, I would very much appreciate it!!
