  1. I would like to help you along the way. I think we could help each other! I was banded in February and where I live, there is no support groups. I would have to travel an hour and a half for a support group. I am looking for people close, or far away so would love to chat. Thanks! Michelle
  2. I am looking for a Buddy/Mentor to go through this journey with me. I live in Minnesota, and where I live, the closest support group is 1 1/2 hours away. I use LapBand Talk as my support. I would really like to have a buddy on here who I can share with, laugh with and vent to. I am not necessarily looking for a buddy in Minnesota but it would be nice. I am 35, Female. I am married and have a Son who is 15, a Stepdaughter who is 15 and a Stepdaughter who is 8. My family has been wonderful support, but I want someone who knows exactly what i am going through. I was banded on February 25, 2008. I have lost 60 pounds so far, and have had 4 fills. My band is a 4cc Allergan Band. I am at 2.8cc now. I am excited to find someone to share with me and to help each other through this.
  3. AWESOME! I would love to have you for my buddy! I am down 63 pounds and trying also to find that spot. I think together we will succeed!

    kink in tubing

I had the band put in February 25, 2008. I had a kink in my tubing and I had surgery 8 weeks ago to replace my port and fix the tubing. My surgeon had told me that it was from doing too much too soon, and I should respect my band and not push it....I dont think I did too much to soon, but it makes sense. Everyone is different when it comes to healing. The second surgery was nothing like my first, I had my second surgery on a Friday and I was back to work in the following Wednesday. Good Luck!

    2008 National Lap-Band Conference

Which Wyndham Hotel is it? Do you have an address? I am trying to book my things online and need an address for the hotel where the conference is going to take place. Thanks.

    2008 National Lap-Band Conference

I can only make the one day event. How would I register for this? Also is anyone going by themselves without their spouse? I am hesitant, but would really like to come down there for this event...please let me know. Thanks!
  7. I was banded February 25, 2008 and had to have my port replaced 8 weeks ago. I am worried because I have dull pain where it seems to me that my band is. Nothing horrible, I am eating and not throwing up unless of course I eat something I should not have. I have a 4cc band and I am filled to 2.8cc. This dull ache just started a few days ago, but I am still a little concerned....anyone else experience this and any suggestions?

    Dull pain

What you had just said is exactly what I have been feeling, with scraping as food goes down. I will have to call my doctor. Can you get Nexium over the counter?
  9. Ok so I am a little anxious. I had surgery 2-25-08 and my surgeon has tried to do 3 fills. They have all been successful, except for when he tries to withdraw fluid, he cannot. So he is going back in next Friday, because he believes my tubing is kinked and my port may be dislodged. Has anyone ever had this happen and what do I expect? Banded 2-25-08 by Dr Jeff
  10. I was banded in February, 2008 and my surgeon had told me a "side effect" is hair loss. I am losing hair everyday! And it is not like it is just a little bit, it is many strands at a time. If anyone has this happening, or has had it happen, what are your siggestions? I have been taking my vitamins and I started taking Biotin. HELP!!!!

    Help for hair loss!

I bought my Biotin at Walmart. I think GNC Nutrition Centers have it also. I started taking it about 2 weeks ago and I am thinking I am going to double up on it.

Hi everyone. My name is Michelle. I am 35. I live in Minnesota. I was banded on February 25, 2008 by Dr. Jeff Baker at Unity Hospital, Bariatric Center. So far I have lost 45 pounds total. I am very glad I made this decision! It is the best one I have made in a very long time. I have found alot of foods I used to be able to eat, that I can no longer eat. Beef jerky is the one I miss the most. I also am not able to eat even very toasted bread. I do not miss the bread. I am very happy to find this website. There are no Lap Band support groups where I live, only gastric bypass so I find it very hard to find people like me who have been banded.

    Fill Question/Concern

I had my second fill last week Tuesday and both fills, my surgeon has had problems drawing fluid back out. He did not seem to concerned, but I am. I did have the fill done Fluroscopy and he did check the tubing and my band that way. I am still concerned though. I know I am filled as I do have restriction. I am just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them and if so, what has their surgeon told them could cause this?

Hi! I eat alot of protein, tuna, fish, eggs, mashed potatos, cottage cheese, beef, soups, rice, fruit, vegetables. I still eat pretty much what I used to except for the fast food, chips and deep fried foods. I am having problems with bread, even toasted. I have gotten some pretty good receipes for some dishes that are not too bad for you either....let me know if you want me to share!
