  1. Hi! Did your surgeon send you home with a waist binder?? That really seemed to help my bloating go down. I think medical supply companies sell them as well if you weren't sent home with one. Best of luck, hope you feel better soon Sent from my Alcatel_5008R using BariatricPal mobile app

    No change in taste

Nice! To be honest I'm not sure my tastes have changed either, it's more just what sits the best in my belly the most comfortably [emoji23] like if I eat something that hurts or just doesn't quite sit well I almost develop an aversion to it Sent from my Alcatel_5008R using BariatricPal mobile app
  3. Some of my favorites were cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, and scrambled eggs... also you could try baby cereals with a little flavoring and/or pureed baby foods with some flavorless protein powder. Good luck! Sent from my Alcatel_5008R using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. [emoji3531]So far so good with no trouble losing but I'm not much help in regards to long term, hopefully someone else can fill us in because now I'm curious lol Sent from my Alcatel_5008R using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. Hi!! I struggle with anxiety disorders with depression and have been prescribed Zoloft 100 mg for two years along with medical cannabis and both have worked WONDERS!! The day after surgery I skipped my dose of Zoloft but was able to resume taking it the next day and have not had any problems with the weight coming off (started 273, Day of surgery 249, current weight 169; surgery was 1/8/20). I hope you are able to get some relief soon, I know how hard daily life can be when you're struggling in your mind [emoji3531] Best wishes Sent from my Alcatel_5008R using BariatricPal mobile app

    11 Days Post Op plateau

Your body is still healing, and most people gain wait during their hospital stay due to the IV fluids, so I really wouldn't worry quite yet. I know its hard but I would suggest not weighing yourself for a week or two and focusing on your Water and Protein goals and the weight will come off, I promise! Best of luck! Sent from my Alcatel_5008R using BariatricPal mobile app Edit: I would also contact your surgeon about what you described to be water retention, always best to be safe
  8. I was allowed to take pantoprazole and Zoloft whole the day after surgery with no issues, good luck! Sent from my Alcatel_5008R using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. Honestly the first few weeks are horrible in that regard. I had to shut the door any time my husband cooked because my mouth would water. Now, 5+ months later, it really doesn't bother me anymore, I think it may be "head hunger". Stay strong, I promise it will get better, especially when you are able to eat purees and solids. Best of luck [emoji3531] Sent from my Alcatel_5008R using BariatricPal mobile app

Have you tried the Gatorade Zero? Regular Gatorade may have too much sugar which might be causing your diarrhea Sent from my Alcatel_5008R using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. Hmmm. Celebrex is a heavy duty NSAID... even 3 months post op my surgeon recommends staying away from anything but Tylenol unless I take carafate beforehand.... strange that they would want you to take it immediately following surgery Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J327AZ using BariatricPal mobile app

    Post Op

Congratulations! I know it probably doesn't feel like it right now, but you just made the best choice of your life [emoji170] take it slow and don't expect too much from your body! Remember, your new little belly is healing from major trauma and I promise it geys better day by day! Don't be afraid to take your prescribed pain meds and sleep, especially those first couple days. Just a tip though, try to get in a couple ounces of water before you fall asleep so you don't have to catch up on hydration when you wake up. Best of luck! Take care! 14. I'd try some protein for breakfast instead of the cheerios and if you can I would get your bloods done, you may be anemic and need iron. Best of luck, hope you feel better Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J327AZ using BariatricPal mobile app

    January 2020 Surgery Folks

How is everyone??? Tomorrow makes 9 weeks since surgery (crazy it's gone so fast) for me, and overall I'm feeling fantastic. My bones ache less, I can chase my toddler farther and faster, and I just feel better in my body again! Clothes are getting loose but I'm waiting to make any big purchases until the ones I have look like crap lol.. anyhow, I'm female, 5'6", started pre op diet at 260, surgery weight was 249, and I've made it down to 210 as of yesterday. Can't wait for more of this progress!! Hope everyone is doing well, can't wait to see the new us in a couple more months. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J327AZ using BariatricPal mobile app

    I screwed up

You won't get a leak. My surgeon actually prescribed Sucralfate PRN if I have a cigarette slip up though since it does impair healing and sometimes causes stomach irritation. Best of luck Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-J327AZ using BariatricPal mobile app
