You will be great! Prayers for a speedy and safe surgery. I'll be in your shoes next Monday, so not far behind, definitely understand the nerves. You got this!! Just think, time goes by so fast before you know it, you'll be a month out of surgery and be giving someone else this pep talk!
  4. Thanks

Hi, I had my sleeve done a week ago today. All is going pretty well. I didn't have to have any bowel prep with the Magnesium citrate And I've never heard of Anyone else who did either. Good luck with that. When you get to the hospital you'll probably go to admitting where they'll get you registered and put an arm band on you and then you'll be taken to the pre-op area. There they Ask you a lot of questions and get you prepped, starting and IV st cetera. The nurses are usually very good and reassuring. Your surgeon should stop by to chat with you. When it's time the will wheel you into the OR and have you slide over on to the OR table. It's usually about 5 minutes after you're there when they put you out and start the procedures. You'll wake up in recovery groggy. And you'll be there probably about 1 1โ„2 hours. You'll still be someone groggy when they take you to your room but they usually try to get you up within a few hours.Hope all goes well with your surgery best of luck to you.

So this morning in church I told my husband IDK if I should participate in the Lord's Supper or not. We partake by drinking a small medicine cup maybe 1 ounce of grape juice and an oyster cracker to represent the blood and body of Christ! I said that grape juice has sugar in it! I finally just said you know I am going to do what I always do every week and take it because I know the Lord will take care of me. Somehow I ended up getting the biggest oyster cracker I have ever seen. I think it was honestly the size of a dime! I made my granddaughters laugh so hard on the way home because I told them that the Lord blessed me by having me pick up the biggest cracker in the plate!๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

True story. I visited a friend of mine who invited me to visit her Catholic church, so I went. Catholics believe in something called Transubstantiation, which means the wine and unleavened bread are the literal blood and body of Christ. Well, when the congregation went up to receive Communion, I just sat there. My friend asked me, "Aren't you going to join us?" I leaned over and whispered, "No, I am not into cannibalism..." She was laughing so hard she sat out herself, since it would be rude to laugh in the priest's face...

I can't believe it was only five days ago. I have found it easier to tolerate liquids. I was using a sugar free sweetener and that helped but today I was able to take my sips from a water bottle with no issue while I was out, walking and moving does help. I notice more of a gas bubble if I drink while sitting. The soreness is less while moving around so I'll get there. Just being patient and focusing on the day by day..

Tiredmimi got a reaction from Sammi_Katt in Pre-OP diet ugh!
My surgery is Thursday the 27th. I have been doing the 2 week pre-op diet. It is soooo hard. I have had Protein Shakes, daily, Jello, cottage cheese ect. that is called for. Last week when I started I make this chicken santa fe Soup all the time for my family( a family favorite)that consist of chicken breast, black Beans, onion, taco seasoning, chicken broth and Tomato juice! Since my diet consist of up to 2 cups of tomato juice daily and unlimited chicken broth I would eat the broth part of the soup that was more flavorful than just having tomato juice or chicken broth by itself. I have a very active job sometimes walking anywhere from 6-10 thousand steps a day, so this restriction has been hard. I have had 3 Premier Protein shakes a day, the soup broth, and 2 cups of cottage cheese a day mixed with jello and cheated with a little sugar free cool whip on top. Today I have felt very weak and very tired and instead of having 3 shakes I had 2 but I ate a little bit of deli ham. No bread or anything just maybe a couple of ounces. I felt like I just had to have something I was starving. I really hope I haven't sabotaged my surgery. I have also been in the bathroom a lot today to the point there is just Water coming out today. I don't know what to think. I feel like I have already had the magnesium citrate and that is not until Wednesday? IDK what to think?

I'm doing ok so far. I've talked with someone and it's not a big deal. The last 10 days of the pre-op diet I plan to stick exclusively to liquids. I've read on here that there are people who had popcorn or something along those lines during liquid diets and they still have had surgery. I've lost nearly 10lbs in a week, and the whole point is to shrink my liver.
I also talked to a friend who had RNY, and he kinda scared me straight the night I had cravings for taco Bell. I have been so tempted to eat anything besides Soup, but I haven't.
I wish you the best of luck on your journey.

I am actually scheduled the 27th. I was scheduled for the 24th but the surgeon called and ask if he could do mine robotically on the 27th, so I changed it!

I did use my robe to walk around the hospital. I bought a new one as a little lift me up before surgery, it is bright and fluffy and has a tie, so I figure I can wear it for a long time. Otherwise, I was in a hospital gown and the non-skid socks they give you.
I brought an extra large shirt and yoga pants to wear home.
