I'm sure it's to get medical clearance. I actually go to my primary today (I'm having surgery 7/20 w/ Dr Lutfi in Chicago). My doctor told me it's just a quick exam to make sure that you're fit for surgery. I will come back & let you know what all the appointment is about.

So I just got done with my appointment, I did an ekg, X-ray & he took my bp. That’s it 😁

My surgery date is end of July. Besides the COVID test, I need to get to my primary doctor before. My appointment is next week and I’m wondering what that appt is for? My only concern is since the pandemic I’m been vaping MJ (it’s legal here in IL). I plan to stop 2 weeks before surgery. Should I be concerned?

Hi everyone! i'm brand new to this site. As of today, my vsg is officially booked for july 20!!!!! so nervous and excited. i have chosen not to tell many people aside from immediate family and one close friend. i'm not ashamed its just a private matter and i think its a big enough surgery and emotional/physcial roller coaster I don't want nay negative comments etc.

    Surgery buddies! ❤️❤️❤️

I thought I was going to stop sharing, but I've been very public about it myself. I made a big Instagram post about it and posted a picture of me in recovery (@mrs.svejgaard if anyone is interested). I want to document my progress and if that helps other people, then I would be more than happy to be an inspiration to others.

Just added you! And I agree 100%.

well i'm considering my opinions. i have literally done everything and i keep getting lied to that it was submitted but still hasn't been. almost 2 months and now that i requested my records telling me for sure again monday. i'm just over it no reason for me to sit and keep sitting al is done been done

I totally get it. I had issues with the last because they constantly wanted to drug test me & others weren’t being treated the same. Go for it! I did have to shop around though!

They do the same thing for my surgeon they schedule the date and then submit.. they initially called me with a date of 7/01 .. but that's my sons 4th birthday.. I didnt wanna schedule it then.. so the following date available was 7/15 soooo that's what I settled for... I'm so excited/nervous...

Hi ladies I've read all your comments.. sooo exciting to know we are getting surgeries soon.

I started the process back at the end of april.. but because of covid19 everything was just so slow... now in may and june I've had all my appointments and lab work done.. only thing I'm missing is my final nutrition appointment for preop liquid diet on june the 10th.

I'm in Florida I dont know what your insurances required for me it was.

Pre labs (tsh, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, hemoglobin a1c, pt/inr, aptt, CBC, and CMP and lipid panel, h.pylori breath test)

    Upper GI Series

Letter of medical necessity from PCP

    Two nutrition appointments.

    Mental Health Evaluation

I'm excited to get a surgery date for. I called my weight loss coordinator and she said usually after last appointment (nutritionist) it is tentatively scheduled for 3-4 weeks out.. so I'm looking at the first or second week of july.

    Ahhhhhh so exciting

    Hi! Congrats Emily!
