No regrets here! I have lost 40 pounds so far and am extremely happy with the results. Dr. Carcamo was my surgeon and I think he's great. I believe that Dr. Carcamo and Dr. Wright do all of their surgeries together. I was self pay also, so I needed to research my decision well also. This forum is a great place as well as True Results. Good luck with your decision. Jeanette

    Daily News!

Ouch! I don't want to laugh at your misfortune, but that sounds hilarious. Sounds like something that would happen to me. Then, I'd go home and tell my husband and he'd be rolling on the floor laughing. Hope it didn't leave bruises.

    Daily News!

I had my 3rd fill today. It did not go as smoothly as the other two went. It was a different person doing the fill than the first two times. It took quite a while because she said the port was tilted. All I know is that it was starting to get uncomfortable. I had a huge bruise after my first two fills, I can only imagine what it is going to look like this time. Hopefully this one helps with the hunger. A couple hours after breakfast I am so hungry. I'm sure the kids in my class can hear my stomach rumbling. I hope all the Jazzy Junes are doing well.

Since I was self pay it did not take too long for me. My 1st consult was in mid May and my surgery was June 25th. The post op diet wasn't too bad. Especially in the beginning because I was just not hungry. I just got my first fill yesterday. On a liquid diet again for 2 days and mushies for 2 days then on to solids. I am hungry today. Jeanette

Jazzy Junes First Fill Line up

I got my first fill today. The appointment was supposed to have been on the 24th, but I missed that one because of bad weather in DC. I couldn't fly home the night before and ended up sleeping at the airport. (whole other story) I finally asked questions today and got answers that everybody else already seemed to know. They said I have the 10cc band and it was filled at the time of surgery with 4.8cc's. Today I got another .6cc's. I am on liquids for 2 days and then mushies for 2 days and then I can start adding regular food in slowly. Can't wait for that because I'm hungry today. The fill itself- not bad at all. I do have a little bruise where the needle went in, but otherwise its fine. I didn't feel anything.

Jazzy Junes First Fill Line up

At my check up, I made a fill appt for July 24th. They told me I may not get one then, just depends on how things are going. I've noticed the last couple of days that I can eat alot more than I could a week ago. The swelling has definitely gone down.
  8. Congratulations and good luck on your weight loss journey!
  9. Have you had any prior experiences with anesthesia? I think its normal to get nervous about the surgery. I know I did. I had two knee surgeries prior to the lapband with no problems with anesthesia and I still worried about it. I'll keep you in my thoughts, let us know how things go. BTW, congratulations on being banded!
  10. I was banded on the 25th as well and I still have left shoulder pain. Maybe not as often, but its definitely still there. I asked my doctor about it yesterday. I wanted to know when it would go away. His answer - "Eventually." That helped.

    2 weeks post-surgery

I bought the protein bullets also. (fruit punch) I use half of one with my raspberry lemonade crystal light and it is pretty good. Someone had suggested using it with crystal light on another thread. Was that you Music Mom? It's a great idea!

    Banded June 25, 2008

Hey Becky, I'm Jeanette. I live in Lytle and I had my surgery with Dr. Carcamo at True Results in San Antonio on the 25th. I am sore, but the gas is bothering the most. I can't wait for that to go away. Congratulations on your surgery and good luck on your weight loss journey.

    Post Surgery check in here

Today I am really sore! The thing that bothers me the most is my throat. I woke up every few hours last night because of my throat. I am also having problems getting all of my fluids in. I am suppossed to have 1 to 2 ounces of fruit juice or broth every hour that I am awake, and of course water constantly in between. Whenever I drink something though I can an extremely full feeling that is very uncomfortable and lasts quite a while. I am taking tiny sips, so I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
