    Can I eat this post-op?

Yes on the cornstarch! I only added it for my family after I had taken mine out. Good idea about the Greek yogurt. I will have to try that. I’ve always felt like I was a “decent” cook but I feel like there’s a totally new world with cooking healthy that I have to learn. Thank you for that tip! And I will definitely be careful with spices!!

    Can I eat this post-op?

True. It says 4 pepper sausage, but to me it’s not spicy at all, just very flavorful. But that might be different post-op. Thanks for the tip!

    CIGNA DENIED

Also, check your medical records and make sure your measurements are correct. Not in relation to WLS but I had an issue one time with a nurse putting info in wrong and it showed that my BMI was a lot lower than what it actually was cause she had made me taller on paper. 😬
  6. Thank you all for your help. I feel a lot better about this. I was just worried it wouldn’t work and then I would have to come up with the money another way and so on. But thank you!
  7. Hey so I’m wondering if my card will work at my doctor’s office when I go in for my pre-op. My out of pocket costs have to be paid at that time and I’m a little nervous about this card not working. I’ve verified the balance on it and that this is something that would be covered but I’ve sent a message twice to my surgeon’s office and haven’t received a reply.
  8. Ok thank y’all. I’ve never had one and want to make sure I have my money stuff together so my surgery doesn’t get cancelled. So I can just use it like a regular debit card, right?

    February Surgery ?

Welcome and congratulations! I totally agree with you. I’m so excited but also have so many other feelings. It’s hard to describe. But I really believe we are making the right choice and our life will be so much better for it!
  11. Following! Interested in this as well.

    Food Before and After Photos

That sounds delicious! We don’t have anything like that here. I have tried Walmart and they don’t sell it here. It’s crazy cause when I was in Miami a while ago, they sell it at their Walmart but not here. It’s probably a good thing for me though because I like it so much and would probably go overboard with it.

I loooooove Dominican salami and cheese made just like that. My husbands family likes to eat that with yucca. It’s sooo good. Sadly, I like in Kansas and I haven’t been able to find either of those for sale here. We have to wait until someone goes to either New York, California, or Florida to get some. But it’s such a treat when we do get it!
  15. This is so exciting! You are looking well. I hope you continue to recover well!

    Food Before and After Photos

Ok yeah. I was kinda thinking maintenance. I’m new to all this and am just learning about the “healthy” options for all of the regular foods that was in my diet.

@GreenTealael is lavash bread something we can eat in weight loss mode or more of a maintenance thing? I have never heard of it.

    How you decided?

So I haven’t had the surgery yet (scheduled for 2/19). But I chose the rny bypass option for several reasons. I am pre-diabetic and this will for the most part reverse that. it is considered the golden standard and my doc says most patients lose more with the option. Another big thing for me was “dumping syndrome”. I know not everyone gets it but I think it would help me in the future to stay on track just in case I got weak and thought I wanted something I shouldn’t be having. I also like the fact that if worse comes to worse, this can be somewhat reversed. Anyways, those are some of my reasons. Hope it helps some.

    OOTD

@BayougirlMrsS that’s cool. Between my husband and dad, we usually have deer meat but they’re the same. Won’t shoot unless they plan to eat. good shooting!

I actually prefer not to die

@brian10x you are hilarious. Every time I read your post, I’m laughing. Most of the men in my life(husband, dad, brother in law, etc) are the same way, so you don’t offend me. best of luck on your surgery. I’m scheduled feb 19th. Hoping I don’t die as well! But figure if I don’t go thru with it, I will probably end up doing just that so I might as well try! but seriously, I’m looking forward to a new start and a better life!

    IM SO SAD

Ugh. I know how you feel. You are still moving and making progress. It's just a speed bump but you will still get it done. I have to wait till mid February too. I plan on staying busy, decluttering and organizing my whole house and hopefully the time will go by quickly. We'll get there!

    Cigna Approval in GA

I do not have that insurance but my insurance company was the same way. One person said they required it, the next said they didn't. I finally pulled up the policy online and found they had revised the requirements on what was mandatory the month prior. When I called them back and quoted the policy to them, they said that information had not reached their office yet but that it was "probably" accurate. So my doctor's office decided to send in a prior authorization just to see what they would say. It got approved in 4 days. I said all that to say that maybe you should just try the prior authorization. My surgeon's office said that if it gets denied, they will send specific requirements that you need and thAt will be the most accurate information you will be able to get on it because it's not coming from a customer representative but rather someone who actually approves or denies based on the info. Good luck!
