  1. I had that 2..i hap aetna thro my employer and bariatric surgery was also excluded from my policy...so i switched insurance companies i researched different companies that accept WLS and got personal choice...i got my new insurance 7/1 and got approved 7/8 had surgery 9/8 only had to pay $1300 out of pocket..good luck
  2. I dont have any restriction either but my doctor told me to eat every 2 hours and it helps (im still losing wieght)...(7:30am)for breakfast i have 1/2 a simply jif peanut butter sandwich with sf jam and wheat bread...(9:30am)2 hrs later i have 1/2 cup chex mix...(11:30 or 12pm)2hrs later i have lunch 2oz tuna with 7 pita chips...(1:30 or 2pm)2 hrs later i have string cheese...(4pm)2 hrs later i have 1/2 protein shake..(6pm) 2hrs later i have dinner 2 to 4 oz of meat, some veggies or a small salad...if by chance im hungry by 8pm which is usually NO i eat another Sf snack this has helped me a lot and my doctor liked my routine...good luck o and i drink 64 oz of water a day mixed with crystal light and exercise 4 to 5 times a week 30 min
  3. :confused:Ok so last night i threw up(something got stuck..didnt make it passed the band and came back up) since then my stomache especially port side hurts also my back 2..now did i pull something or did i hurt my band im not sure...i can eat and drink fine just feel uncomfortable like cramps or something...i have an appointment friday to see my doctor for a fill so im sure he will check my band out...anyone have this before?? I wonder if when i puked i strained my insides:confused:
  4. Hey guys and gals I can relate i had aetna thro my employer and he also did not pick up bariatric surgery so it was excluded from my policy...since i didnt want to self pay (lack of funds) i opted to find my own insurance..i went with personal choice...june 6th i had my seminar they informed me aetna would not pay i got my new insurance july 1st and by july 8th i was approved!! Good thing is my employer picked up the tab on the insurance since i dont use his anymore he was willing to pay $400 a month towards new insurance which was great since it costs me 474 a month (family plan)..i got the band sept 8th and my total out of pocket for surgery was $1,300 better then 8,000 or 10,000...my suggestion to u is look into an insurance company that will pay for it.
  5. Im sorry u had such a bad experience i would of knocked her out for sayin that shit but thats me...im goin thro the same thing with my doctor they had me pay $2,500 the day of surgery which is 500 deductible and 2000 co insurance i was fine with that and i paid it...well my insurance told me they shouldnt of did that to me because i wasnt responsible for that much i only owed 1,300...now im receiving bills from procedures i had the day of surgery sayin i owe money i called the billing dept and told the lady i already paid u guys 2500 im not payin anymore and i want a refund of 1,200 that im owed...when i had the surgery done they told me i wouldnt owe anything else now all this shit is happening
  6. I came home tuesday and had sex saturday lol...as long as it feels comfortable do it
  7. I agree with everyone else ur eating to fast or putting 2 much into ur mouth at a time....slow down and take the smallest bites u can and it shouldnt happen anymore remember chew chew chew and take breaks after every bite
  8. Congrats on getting banded!! This is the place to come 2 when u have question sor just need some support!! Good luck on ur journey things will get better i started feeling better 2 weeks after surgery..im 5 weeks out and it doesnt even feel like i had surgery i get my 1st fill next week so ill let u know how it goes...best wishes

  10. Yea i wondered the same thing cause on another thread they said to have a sucessfull fill dont get it done durin the TOM i got scared i thought if i got it done something would go wrong..i dont wanna ask my doctor (he's a guy) i dont think he will understand..thanx for all ur replies
  11. I do feel good and its about time i started exercising regularly im so happy so far with the band and i cant wait to keep losing weight i know the 1st 6 weeks its not about weight loss so im not concerned that the scale doesnt move i know in due time the weight will come off...good luck to everyone
  12. :confused:Is it true that u shouldnt get a fill during or a couple days before ur cycle?? Im just curious because i read on a site that u shouldnt get a fill while u have ur "friend" because u retain water and its harder to get a fill?? im due for my next week and am also getting a fill oct 24th so i was wondering should i cancel my appointment and reschedule til aunt flow leaves?? any suggestions:confused:
  13. Thanx Jacole!! And congrats on ur 77 lbs that are gone forever!! Good luck
  14. Well today i did something i've never done before i rode my bike with my son attached in a seat with wheels for 4 miles...just think my 2yr old weighs 30 lbs so thats 30 more pounds on top of my weight i had to bike around but i DID IT and im so proud of myself.... as long as the weather is nice i am goin to do that 3 times a week and the other 3 days use the treadmill and eliptical at home...since the band i feel energized i dunno this burst of energy came to me.... im glad i made the decision to get this done...good luck everyone and remember KEEP MOVING FORWARD!! -cindy
  15. I had aetna and they wouldnt pay for it either it was excluded from the policy (bariatric surgery) so i decided to switch companies i went to personal choice standard option plan i got the insurance on july 1st and got approved july 8th it was fast..i was banded 9/8 all i had to pay was 1,300 out of pocket which is better than 17,000 so do some research and see what company is better for u
  16. Excuse me but that was kind of rude remark!! In womens size it aint 10 sizes ...it it goes 14/16 18/20 22/24 26/28 so 30 lbs could of gotten her to that..there are key factors here if she doesnt have any muscle fat squeezes into clothes better than when u have muscle it all depends on her frame...so take back what u said and be happy for her!! GREAT JOB!!!!
  17. I do billing and they are all right..If the doctor is in network with tricare than they have an allowed amount (contracted) with each other!! If he is he can not bill u the difference only copays, deductible and coins...i have personal choice and had to pay 2 things for my surgery 1 was my ded 500.00 and second was coinsurance my total came out to be 1300.00 out of pocket which wasnt bad since they billed 17,000. call ur insurance company and ask them what u will be liable for.
  18. I wear spanx when i wear dress clothes and it doesnt bother my band!! Hopefully when i lose all my weight i wont need them anymore!! good luck
  19. I hated Alli it didnt work for me...why dont u talk to ur doctor about getting another fill or join Weight Watchers had have points control..i wouldnt try anything without talkin to ur doc...good luck
  20. Did u try researchin other options?? I switched insurance companies just to have this covered!!! Try goin on ur own with insurance getting something that does cover it...i got personal choice and i only had to pay 1,300.00 to have this surgery done...i used to have aetna which denied it it was excluded from my policy..try a different route like financing.. i went to the barix clinic and they have options for slef pay also..good luck
  21. There are so many fill centers around the U.S. try to look up one where u are!! Im sorry u are having a bad experience but u have to think positive!! Try bumpin up ur exercise...a typical day for me is Breakfast- string cheese or yogurt Snack-sf pudding or Jello sometimes some chex mix Lunch- tuna, chicken or meat with either some salad or organic pita chips Snack- sf pudding, sf jello, chex mix or sf ice cream Dinner- something Protein with some veggies and a tiny amount of carbs I dont eat more than a 1/2 cup to 1 cup of food per sitting I workout everyday for 30 -35 minutes. Maybe u need more calories to help ur metabolism..how many calories do u eat?? What do u eat throughout the day?? Please keep us posted Also try joinin Weight Watchers it might help more with the band Good luck
  22. wow!! Congrats!! My doc told me to stop smokin 6 weeks prior to surgery but ive read a lot of posts on here and some people had 2 weeks others were the day before surgery(im sure ull be fine)...i had my "friend" aunt flow before surgery so that question i couldnt answer u should ask a female nurse tomorrow when u go or call....my liquid diet was 10 days before surgery if u have to do 2 days ur real lucky..it consisted of slim fast, jello, broth (chicken, veggie, beef) for 2 days ull be fine trust me...as for liver shrinkin i have no idea they told me i had to weigh what i did at my consult which meant i had to lose 4 lbs no big deal...Everyone has a last meal trust me it wont effect u..ur NUT should give u a list of foods (liquids) ull need post op if u have any questions there are forums on here for those stages..Good luck keep us in touch!!
  23. Nope, I had Vitamin D def 2! and i had surgery 9/8..i was on pills for 10 days and now im fine evrythings great! good luck
  24. I wouldnt call them!! My brother and sister in law had to both do a 6month diet ( i didnt) and they both tried to lose like 2 -3 lbs or maintain the same weight in 6 months so it can show the insurance company that u did try and u do need the band to help u lose weight...u dont want to try to lose alot of weight durin that process or u may have a hard time being approved. Try to maintain or lose a couple pounds here and there
  25. i had to do 3 weeks full liquids 2 weeks mushies 1 week soft
