  1. Congrats on your surgery!! I had mine in December, had 1 post-op visit in Feb, then Covid hit and haven't been back since! LOL!! I'm not having any problems otherwise I might try to go back now. I did get labs done last month just to make sure all is well. I also haven't seen my PCP since prior to surgery, again just b/c I'm not having any problems. I get so much advice on these forums that it makes up for everything else. If you are having problems getting in your protein, I would look at what you are eating and get rid of the low protein foods that might be giving you calories but not the good stuff that you need. I still do a protein shake for breakfast for an easy 26 grams, plus I just really like shakes! My calorie range is 600-750 but I try to stick closer to the 600 range for now. Like others have said, definitely get the labs to make sure all is well, but other than that you are probably on the right track by doing your own research here!
  2. My problem areas are my breasts and tummy, followed by arms and thighs. All of which can be hidden under clothes. I’m having PS in January to address the boobs and tummy just for my own vanity and I want to wear bikinis! I’ll take the loose skin over fat any day though!!

    Eating

Another tip is to take your time eating, and stop eating the second you feel restriction. Don't swallow another bite. I have even gone so far as to spit out food that was already in my mouth b/c I felt restriction. It's that extra bite of food that tends to cause the pain (at least for me).
  4. I’m not usually a fan of 100 calorie packs, but these ones are great. From Aldi of course. lol! Not too much nutritional value but very yummy and satisfies sweet tooth. Also pretty filling (which I don’t usually find to be the case with 100 calorie snack packs).

    Any bike suggestions?

There is a Chinese brand called Cheji, and they are all over ebay and Amazon. I swear they are as good as the high end brands when it comes to padding, etc. They are really inexpensive too!! Also, the more you ride, the tougher your sit bones will get!

  9. Greek Yogurt, Ricotta cheese bake or ricotta w/ vanilla extract if I want it sweet, scrambled eggs. As for protein shakes, have you tried Fairlife yet? They are really good, My fave is strawberry banana.

Thanks! Thighs are a mess though (loose skin). Hoping LBL will fix it a little. In the meantime, I'll get tighter pants to compress it all in!

  13. Phone, charger, and chapstick was pretty much all I needed! You will basically sleep for 18 hours, then it will be time to go home! LOL!!

Yesterday and today’s outfits. I’ve discovered my new look is tight pants with a flowing top. Accentuate the positive, and hide the jiggly bits. Lol!

    Pre-Op Question

They go by your starting weight!! My surgeon said I could lose as much as I was able to prior to surgery. Good luck!!!

Thank you!! I am feeling more comfortable in my own skin every day. I still have 10lbs to go, but I just hit "healthy" in the BMI range, so I feel like I'm playing with the house's money!

What are you thankful for this week? - 8/31/2020

I'm grateful that my husband and I are able to work from home during COVID. I'm grateful for the extra time I've been able to spend with my children. I'm grateful for my health, and for my new body that's able to keep up with the active person that has always been inside me.

    Choosing between surgeries

I chose bypass b/c I had a history of GERD, and knew the sleeve would only make the GERD worse. Happy to say I'm GERD-free since the bypass! It's weird to not carry TUMS in my purse anymore!
