    Success Story

Congratulations, and thank you for the inspiration!!
  2. I was a huge soda addict too, and those Coke commercials still get me too, especially when they are drinking out of those old fashioned glass bottles. Makes me want one! Alas, I'm soda free since surgery, and plan to stay that way for life! Also means no seltzer, etc, as I don't want that to be something that would remind my body of soda and create cravings. I pretty much live on water, crystal light, and the occasional diet iced tea. Since I don't use beverages to "wash down" my food anymore, I'm pretty satisfied with my limited beverage menu.

    Thanksgiving

Our Thanksgiving is going to look very different this year. We aren't having anyone over, and my kids (who are young) don't care about turkey. I told them since we aren't having family over, we don't have to eat turkey, and let them plan the menu. They want fish sticks, mac n cheese, and pumpkin pie! LOL! So that will be easy for me! If our local sushi restaurant is open, then hubs and I will order take out. If not, then we will eat fish sticks too! ha ha!

How Often Do You Weigh Yourself?

I'm still getting used to those low numbers myself! For years, I would never step on the scale when my husband was around for fear he would peek at the number. I haven't been to my PCP since pre-surgery, and always dreaded getting weighed in. Now I will be looking forward to it. Ha ha ha!! You will be there SOON!!!!!!

How Often Do You Weigh Yourself?

For those that don’t have a Renpho, hop on Amazon and grab one! Can’t beat the price. This is what it looks like on my phone. Just have to open the app on your phone then step on scale. So easy!

How Often Do You Weigh Yourself?

Morning, Night, before/after pee, before/after poop, sometimes before/after shower to see how much my wet hair weighs. I'm a little obsessed! LOL!! Only the Morning weigh in gets logged in my Renpho! The rest are just for fun!!

    Excess saliva???

It's perfectly normal!! Happened to me about 5-6 times in my first few months of solid foods. I quickly learned not to take that "one more bite" as that's when it would happen! Best of luck to you!!

    Brand suggestions

LOL!! I put it on over my head (like with a tank top or regular sports bra), then pull my boobs up to get them into the cups, then reach back to do the hooks! Once you get the hang of, it's easy! Let me know if you love it as much as I do!!

    Brand suggestions

I don't have a girdle suggestion, but definitely have found a bra that I absolutely love! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VK8G7RQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1 It's actually a sports bra, which I needed, so I ordered one to try it out. I found that It gives me the perfect shape under my t-shirts, blouses, etc, so much so that I went back and ordered 3 more, and now use these as my every day bras. It's a racer back, so the straps are more narrow in the front which means that if you had a shirt with a wide neck hole the straps might show, but the bonus of the narrow straps is that they never slide off your shoulder. I can bend down, do whatever, and nothing can ever pop out. I seriously love this bra! LOL!!

Love big trees! We always do a big one too. We usually get it on Black Friday from a local tree farm. Can't wait to start decorating!!
  17. Congratulations on making the decision to have surgery! I also had my surgery in December, and it worked out perfectly!! I wouldn't have changed a thing! Best of luck to you, and I can't wait to follow your journey!

    Fell Off Bad

You can do this!! Admitting you need to get back on track is the first step, which you've already done!
  20. I'm still 36lbs away from my goal weight of 130, and once I get there, I might want to drop the goal to 120. I've just started researching plastic surgeons, joined some FB groups, and it's easy to become obsessed!! I'm obviously going to weight until I hit goal to start setting up any consults, but man I can't wait!! I have 4 Miami surgeons that I'm interested in so far, but then I'll see someone else's photos and want to add their surgeon to my list!
  21. Welcome to the board!! Best of luck with insurance approval, and hopefully you'll be scheduling your surgery very soon! That's great that you have a romantic partner who can relate to the struggle of obesity. Can't wait to follow your progress!

    Post op day 3

I agree, just work on getting your fluids in (sip, sip, sip!) and as your body heals you will be able to get in the protein shakes, etc. Rest well!!!
  23. I'm so sorry that you are going through this. I would make an appt with your PCP to discuss. Irritability is a common symptom of anxiety (as is poor sleep), so perhaps some low dose meds or counseling would help if that's the case? Best of luck to you!!
  24. Best of luck to you!!! There are quite a few guys on here who started out at a similar weight, and they have crushed it! Just like you will do!!! Welcome to the rest of your life!!!

    low energy , tired

I needed to take naps for the first 2-3 months after surgery. It's very common to feel a lot of fatigue in the beginning and your body continues to heal from surgery. Best of luck to you!!
