You're sure they specifically said CLEAR liquid during the post-op 2 week diet? Would be the first I've heard of that. I know some do Clear Liquids pre-op.

Clear liquids is tough - RTD Protein Shakes are out so you'd have to do Syntrax Nectar or Protein Water.

I think you may be right. I am double checking. I may have misunderstood Clear VS Sugar -free ,low fat full liquid diet. Thanks. I would really like to have insure Protein Shakes first day home. Glad that I'm learning this now. 6 days to go. lol

The dietary phases aren't there to ward against nausea or vomiting, it's to protect the suture line in your stomach as it heals.

You are sooooooo right on sister ! Sepsis and Peritonitis is no joke ! I spent a month in ICU,( 2wks in a Coma ) 4% chance of surviving . Hellish ! My flu turned out to be a perforated duodenal ulcer. I am terrified of another leak ! VSG scheduled for 12/04. lol

Thank you all so much for your support! I went to the emergency room and they said the shortness of breath was actually just pain from the tube being down my throat during surgery, thank god! Got some morphine and resting now. Thank you all so much❤️❤️

So glad you're ok. Sorry if my panicked post frightened you. Best wishes from Santa Barbara Ca. It might snow wed! lol Keep checking back.

Sorry for TMI, but the constipation is what’s completely killing me. I’m very committed to this liquid diet and have been journaling and keeping my eye on the prize for sure. But this pain is awful. I bought some Colace and Smooth Move tea praying it helps.

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. This process will be worth it.

Unless you're the size of someone on "My 600 lb Life", that 20 lb loss is pretty average. Most "normal" WLS patients lose about 15-25 lbs the first month, so you're right on target. I lost 16 lbs my first month, and I started out at over 300 lbs (and I ended up losing all my excess weight).

Watched every episode of my 600. lol Great show. Those staple lines look like zippers. lol The scale doesn't lie !

I had really bad insomnia last night. Was super drowsy at 10pm, woke up wide awake at 1:30am, didn't get tired again until 4:30am and then slept until 9:30am. Other nights it's because I wake up feeling gassy and end up with very Water stools. (Never trust a fart!)

My doc added oxygen to my CPAP which helps, provided my mask doesn't leak. This morning I switched from sleeping upright with a large triangular pillow support my wife bought, to sleeping on my side with some blankets supporting my abdomen, and I was out like a light.

A farting , whistling , mask wakes me up several times a night when the pressure ramps up. They want me to bring my Trilogy 100 to surgery . I'm affraid of blowing air into my new sleeve causing a leak.

I went through the emotional part also, I think it is common. Our hormones surely are altered and all that comes with a surgery like this can cause someone to be emotional. Hugs to you both!

Especially when you start burning fat and releasing ketones.
