So in October I stopped Protein Shakes because I thought I was eating enough Proteins with my meals. Well I guess I wasn’t my hair is thinning terribly so this month I started drinking Protein shakes again. How long does it take for the Protein levels to build back up in your blood and how long till my hair grows back? Should I drink extra shakes to get some extra Proteins for it to build up faster? Or how many shakes a day is to much? (I drink Premier Protein Shakes with 30g) figured this would be a good time to do a liquid”ish” diet where I drink shakes during the day and one real meal for dinner. I feel like I’ve been eating to much the past couple of months. I’m not longer in Ketosis so I’m thinking if I do this liquid diet my body will start burning fat again(haven’t lost much since November) There’s a photo of my hair to show how much it’s thinned.

It never grew back for me.

Is it even an option to do such a surgery without anesthesia?

I'm exploring all options. My friends are holding a special event this weekend to help me prepare. They claim its 100% effective if somewhat out of the mainstream. Some kind of consecration by the Luciferic Knights of Dusk. They swear to me it doesn't involve pagan sacrifice or strange rituals, but I have my doubts.

You're not ready for this surgery . Period

I am strongly considering having my surgical procedure done without anesthetic. Since cleaning myself up, I've been very cautious about taking any sort of drug or using any substance that alters my perception.

I have a high tolerance for pain and I'm refusing all pain medication. I made the same choice a couple years back when they had to remove a foreign object from my rectum. Lots of pain at first, but after about 30 minutes it was tolerable.

    Has anyone else done this?

You're not ready for this surgery period.

    Hello,

I had my bypass in August 2019 and everything was going great.

However, about 2 months post op, I started experiencing some dizzy episodes where my limbs would go weak, my head start spinning and I would get either white bright spots or fully dark vision. I also noticed that it is particularly bad while I'm in the shower and I have actually collapsed a few times now.

Has anybody else experienced this? Normally I lay on the floor and take deep breaths and it passes after 20 minutes but leaves me drowsy and delirious.

I'm just waiting for results from my drs after I had a blood test and an ECG. The nurse told me that my heart rate was a little slow on the ECG.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I find the episodes very scary.

    Many thanks!

Gotta wait for the labs. Could be Anemic or hypoglycemic or hypotension or... anything . My resting heart rate is between 40 and 50 ( beta blockers ) and that's after cutting the dose in half. At least I don't feel like I'm going to pass out anymore. Could you please follow up when you find out ? Be well :)

Will it work? Maybe. But the good news is that the answer to that question depends mostly on you! I have a strong suspicion that most people who say WLS didn't work for them didn't follow the process or weren't ready mentally.

Also, I want to give a dissenting opinion. The honeymoon period is not always easy. My hunger drive has not left me. I still have my appetite. Yes, it's easier to eat much less than I used to but I didn't have the same experience as some posters here and I think there are lots more like me.

I'm at 28 days and have a strong physical hunger drive early in the AM then again in the evenings . I didn't expect that so soon ? Also 8 or 9 days into the 3 wk stall :(

Colonoscopies can save your life, so I wouldn’t call it BS. They do need to find out why you have the low Iron count. I had to have an endoscopy for my sleeve, and the GI doctors suggested both at the same time. I’m glad I got it done and out of the way. With insurance it wasn’t that much.

Same here , they even put me under and removed a polyp. My Hematocrit and Hemoglobin took a big hit after surgery . Supprised they didn't test your poop for blood ( Hemocult test ) as that is standard uif you are under 50 yrs old. Best wishes.

Isn't it too early for that if I just had surgery 10/28 of this year? I haven't eaten one bad thing. I think it's just a normal stall. I thought about it, but I was literally just cleared for regular food yesterday. I'll see what happens I guess.

I'm in the same boat, lost 60 pre op and my 3 wk stall hit with a vengeance . I was losing about a pound a day. Last 5 days 0 :(

I was joking around when I had spinal fusions and sleep apnea surgery the same day. It's how I probably deal with stress. If I offend anyone, it's unintentional. Usually.

Certainly didn't offend me. :) P S , Take all the pain meds you can get and start walking your ass off the minute they let you ou of bed. Worked for me.

I'm still on thick liquids. The idea of a deviled egg sounds heavenly!! Can't wait to chew again!

I'm 11 days post OP and haven't had a BM yet. How long did it take everyone else? I don't feel constipated, but am wondering if I should take a laxative or something so I don't get too backed up???

P.S I thought you were a sleeve. 11 days ! Contact the Surgeon office tomorrow .

30 - 60 mg of Milk of Magnesia + 8 oz Water at or around bedtime and it may happen early morning. That worked for me last night. :)
