Hope you didn't rupture your pouch, o well what's a couple months in the hospital on feeding tubes . Right ?

I've gotten sensitive about my "turkey wattle" but don't want to pay the cost of plastic surgery. But wearing a mask--instant face lift! I look YEARS younger with a mask on!!😁
We all wear masks.. Metaphorically speaking

High triglyceride levels are initially treated with a low-fat, low-carbohydrate diet and lifestyle modifications. When this does not work, your health care provider may want to add medication to help lower your triglyceride levels

Drink standing up helps then walk around a little bit, especially after/Protien shake consumption. Also dont get scared if you start dropping 2lbs a day. Just hit your h2o and protien goals and you'll do fine.

Most of us will eventually get exposed and develop immunity - just like with West Nile Virus that now lives among us. The biggest problem is the disruption of services and the financial impact on businesses and families. I work in a hospital and masks are in short supply already. Most of our masks and protective equipment are made in China. China has shut down a lot of these factories, so that is a very real issue. Some hospitals are shutting down services like elective surgeries in order to save supplies for emergencies.
Bottom line - we will get past this. The more we can slow the spread, the better off we will be. The elderly are the most vulnerable and I worry about my 86 year old mom in a care facility. People will die, yes, but up to 40,000 people die in the US each year from the flu and still, a lot of folks won't get a flu shot. In another year, this will just be another virus that lives with us.
My take on the whole thing is that it is an excellent rehearsal in preparedness for a really BAD pandemic, with a much higher mortality. If the avian flu ever mutates and goes person to person, it will wipe out over half the world's population. If we can learn lessons from this Coronavirus outbreak, it could actually be the best thing to happen. People need to be prepared with food, Water, medicine - for ANY disaster. FEMA, the CDC, and state health departments have been saying this for years, but people still don't even have enough TP in their homes to last 2 weeks!
This already is a real bad Pandemic . Take care.

10 hours ago, GAjeepGirl said:My biggest issue post surgical with my routine and my "normal" day is and has been my one weakness...my morning latte. I normally make a espresso shot, and pour it into 1.5 cups of steamed skim milk.
I've tried four different ways of adding Protein Powder to this and have thrown out every single one...they were awful.
So I ask, is it okay for us to drink "coffee". I haven't started on my mushy food phase yet, but LORD I can tell you that my liquid phase has DEFINITELY been a downer without my morning latte 😞
Thoughts? You can absolutely drink 1-2 cups of coffee.

The U.S. does not have nearly enough tests and IMHO our government, which has been underfunding science, does not have a good plan to combat it. About 20 major universities have asked students not to come back after Spring Break.
I'm healthy, but my husband and parents are older and have compromised immune systems. My father is in a nursing home. I have a few thoughts, and I'm curious about what you think, and how things are in countries besides the U.S.
As more tests become available, I think there will be a sharp increase in cases over the next several weeks.
In the U.S. some people have been asked to self-quarantine. The period seems to be for two weeks.
I would avoid all unnecessary visits to the hospital. I'm not sure what I would do if my surgery was in the next few weeks.
I'm keeping our house stocked with 2 weeks of food as recommended by the CDC (Center for Disease Control).
Keeping all my medications in stock
Washing my hands carefully and often
I also have purchased small amounts of these things, although I'm not sure they will help: N95 Masks, rubber gloves, antibacterial wipes, and hand sanitizer.
What do you think? What are you doing?
Hoping for 1,000's of new cases to be diagnosed here.

13 hours ago, Taj said:Sarah Singh and BadWolfGirl, your tummy’s might surprise you, as mine has with rejecting all fats. A few years ago I did an intensive bariatric weightloss program through NYU and learned that my body was insulin resistant. I did the weightloss program because I had done a Whole Foods diet for six months and even though I felt fantastic and my skin was glowing, hair was shiny and beautiful and allergies completely cleared up, I DEVELOPED HIGH CHOLESTEROL and only lost 6 pounds in six months, despite also doing 1 hour of intensive cardiovascular exercise five days per week. I was overweight but at every physical my pcp said my numbers were healthier than healthy (her words). The bariatric doctor put me on a low carb diet and I lost 50 pounds in five months and my cholesterol dropped to normal. I put the weight back on in the last two years because I stopped eating low carb and menopause and I stopped working so no more daily commuting on the NYC subway which is walking blocks and climbing stairs daily. At any rate, not sure what I’ll do if my tummy doesn’t want any fat so hoping it will get better for me. Today my husband felt so bad that I haven’t been able to eat anything but snow crab that he came home from work (on the crowded subway) and drove me to Stop & Shop in rush hour traffic to buy me snow crab. And yay!! I was able to eat it!! And I didn’t overeat, even though I felt like I was starving.
And I thought New Yorkers catching Crabs on the Subway was a myth ? lol

I still have 2 pens and was considering 0.6 to see if it would help restart weightloss . All my morning fasting numbers are between 110-130.

Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
If Steri-Strips are used to close or support an incision then they should fall off in about a week or so. If they are still in place after 10 days, usually it is safe to be removed by the patient, unless the healthcare provider has said not to, as some wounds might need more time to heal properly.

This morning I woke up and the titanium rod I have in my back was sore- much like when I first got it. It’s been sore all day! I’m going to mention it at my 1 week check up Tues but I thought I’d ask here if anyone has had similar pain. It’s almost like it’s moved and scar tissue hasn’t formed around it ... anyway, just checking....
I have 2 titanium hip joints that ached for a few weeks. Lots of walking and starting to build new muscle although verry slowly seems to be doing the trick for pain. No meds.

I made the mistake of weighing myself and I’m up 15 pounds from Tuesday. I’m walking to get rid of the gas they pump us with but man—when you are sore and the scale goes up it’s frustrating!
You will lose that extra 15 and then some in the next 2wks. Don't sweat it.
