Surgeons are not your best bet when it comes to nutrition. If one wants nutritional counseling - go to a dietician who's familiar with WLS patients.

Fully agree they are the cutters and once done with you, on to the next! A Nutritionist will stay with you for the long run. If you can not find one with WLS experience get a work out one, They also know how to shred weight and get you to you max health and shape

I'm confused. Did you NOT receive any advice about portions and Stages to eat post surgery?

I am totally amazed at how many people - Including myself did not have a plan or guidance after this surgery! WTF is this industry going to get oraganized! We all know the surgery is just a tool, Without the workshop your screwed

  3. Yes you body is healing this same post is all over this site, You wracked your body hard and now it is recovering. Let your body tell you when you can go to other foods. shakes do suck, But you need them. Make your own with Protein powders, The only one i like that is store bought is Core Fitness.

Feel free to join my WLS mix masters club! I can make a mean as Protein Shake and martini!

  4. Great post above

YOU ARE NOT HUNGRY - YOU ARE FULL! Your mind is playing games with you. You do not have to eat till you are full, Eat healthy and portion it! Done

The hardest part of this journey is re learning how to eat healthy! and to put it clear It f@#ckin is a b***h to do! Not only do you have to condition your body your mind is going to fight you! Stop focusing on food. You eat for fuel not for any sort of satisfaction. Once you master this you are home free!

    Is this normal?

How long until you cut the cheese after your surgery?

    What can I do?

I'm seeing the surgeon in about 6 hours. Is there anything he can do for me?

Thank you all. Any advice is appreciated. PS. I've been doing knee to chest squats and raises, walking, and laying on my sides with knees raised.

It will come - But get out of bed and Put on your head phones and walk the halls! The more you move the faster you will get the gas out! I was skipping down the hall a few hours after surgery, within 10 hours i had most of the gas out! Now my brother had to get catheterized from the knock out gas, His lower unit stayed asleep!

Good luck and trust me Move your ass! and welcome to the journey

t smelled so good at first and now I’m nauseous from smelling it in the kitchen. This really blows.

Actually I disagree. As a chef i have done the same thing you are doing many times. But i take this journey a different way, We all had food and way to much food we loved! We choose to get healthy and live! so i love trying to design and eat new foods that i never did before. However you are way to early in this journey to go that strong towards dairy. The shock and awe plan does not work, Been there - I tried making chicken parm about one month out and dang near killed me - sick for 4 hours! Slowly progress into new foods but go easy on the dairy and sauces.

Here is on thing about your time that worked. I made spring rolls with top shelf ingredients. Air Fried and Jap Soup. Never ate these pre op but the different tastes and flavors got me going on this search for new foods - Do it every week now. For example this week doing all Grilling foods. Veggies. Fish, wings, Pork. But all healthy and tummy friendly. Sure i will hit a bump a food that does not sit right, but sure is fun trying to eat different

Good luck and be patient - Take it slow and you will get it

  8. NO NO NO-

None of you are hungry! You are addicted to food like everyone else on this site! You are bored and you head is playing games with you. You do not need to eat and consume non stop.

We all had to get thru this phase! You are in the head game stage and you are not hungry! You head is tricking you to think you are hungry. Your nerves and sensors were cut out. So how the heck are you getting hunger pains when you only have a 4 oz pouch. Tv marketing and packaging is everywhere. There are so much more things in life then a box of Cookies or chips. However all of us addicts are caught in the food industry nightmare@

Ok now that i attacked you ---- You guys got this ,,,,,,,Change focus from food to something else. Slowly you need to sip something to get your mind tricked to think your not hungry. This is a b***h to do! I crashed and crashed big time The post is here way back. I was saved but my key was a puppy! Yes a lab puppy. I started focusing on him and training him and walking him and getting my abusive behavior towards food and vodka Under control. I also have chosen to Fish a ton and Travel a ton.

You guys do the same - Mix up you life. The old life sucked you were out of control with food and unhealthy. Now its time to change. Look up Fluffy Chick here and she has great posts on changing you lifestyle. Find something new to add to your life, hobbies, craft, outdoors, Partners, Pets, movies, Like Nike JUST DO IT!

This is not going to be easy, but once you do it the best journey gets even better!

Not know here for being the snuggle member more of the right at you member

  9. How to Vortex them

First things you have to get a Vortex

    https://www.amazon.com/LUTANI-BBQ-Kettle-Grills-26-75/dp/B07BP7JFWK/ref=sr_1_4?crid=GUJUNI9LG6TT&keywords=vortex+grill+accessory&qid=1584617398&sprefix=Vortex+grill%2Caps%2C166&sr=8-4

    Step one

We prefer only wings but get you chicken wings and legs. RInse off and put in bucket, Now the key to this is the brine. To brine use 1/3 cup of salt, 1/3 cup of red hot. Use chicken stock or base. I prefer the chicken base paste. Also on Amazon. Add Water to cover wings and refrigerate for 12 hours. I do this before i go to bed then they are ready the next day.

    Step two

Remove wings and lightly rinse. Put in zip lock bag - Add wing sauce, butter and pepper and shake it all up. Store for 3 hours or more flipping bag every so often.

    Step three.

Get your grill rocking with the vortex in the middle. The ones i did yesterday the vortex had the grill at 600 degrees Hot as Hell in there. I found it easier to remove the grate and arrange them around the outside off the grill. We wanted a little smoke flavor so i added a chunk of apple wood to the middle of the grate. Put grate back on grill. Close lid. You have to keep the lid closed the heat is going to roll around convection style with the vortex in the middle of the grill. Took about 30 minutes and I did rotate them at 15 min.

Skin was perfect, moist from the brine, and perfect taste.

On the side we did have a variety of hot sauces, Ranch and blue cheese - Not a wing in site 15 minutes later
