Dances with Carbs got a reaction from trs5502 in Well this is about Sex
I realize this is the mens room. Just needed to say congrats on your weight loss@AJ Tylo. You look happy as does she. Nothing illegal or disgusting about you being happy. You do you and be proud. -

Maybe labeling as slow loser is not so much self defeating but rather a soothing way to accept that we don't lose at the same pace. And losing as much as our bodies will allow is still good. When there are those that post they lost 60 pounds in 2 months and ask why they are slow losers; that's definitely dismormphic and maybe makes others who are losing at a normal pace wonder if they are the slow losers. But you have others like fatboy slim who just advise people who aren't as quick to lose, to just eat less (which just isn't helpful). Then he assumes all these people on here must be lying about their calorie intake because stalls and slow weight loss isn't a part of his world. Having someone who is not struggling tell you that you must be to blame for your slower loss......that is defeating. Not venting at you, just to you. I just needed to get another perspective out there. -

Dances with Carbs got a reaction from Slownstedy in Dizziness in the shower?
I dont have any advice. This also happens to me on occasion. Hot Water and low blood pressure seems to be the ingredients to this issue or has for me anyway. I try to take cooler showers and that seems to help.

Okay, jumping into this thread a bit late, but I lost pretty slowly and still got to (and now 14 pounds under) goal weight.
The main point is to trust the process and keep working your plan.
I see where many of you guys have identified places that might be causing the slower loss, so as long as those issues are addressed and corrected, the process should start to roll easier.
I’m almost certain that 18:6 IF is what finally got me past a couple of “sticking points” and to goal.
I’ve lost 106 pounds since surgery on 2-6-19, which isn’t even 10 pounds/month.
The key was that I did manage to lose consistently 6-7 pounds monthly after the initial massive loss.
It doesn’t take dramatic numbers, it just takes consistency and willingness to work the program every single day.

@Serengirl, I was going to let that go, but of course, it's crap. Many things can skew it, tons of illnesses. Thyroid issues. PCOS. Tons of medications. Water consumption. Stress. Even sleep. Very little is actually known about it. If it was, we would all be on the same diet and it would work for everyone. Peer-reviewed journals like 'Obesity' have high impact factors because there is tons of interest in weight loss research.
Give it some time. You may be a slow loser and still lose all your access weight.
I didn't say anything because I'm trying to just let people be wrong and not worry about it, but when they are upsetting other people, like you, I'll say something.

we can agree to disagree and this is a place for those who dont lose in a typical fashion I am losing slowly I NEVER said i haven't lost any weight at all but I can indeed go weeks and weeks without losing and since all of my food is premeasured by the containers i buy them in- eg. premiere shakes- i know their exact calorie counts. In fact except for having sushi maybe once a week all of my food (greek yogurt, cottage cheese, premiere shakes) comes in pre measured packets for that very reason so I CANNOT underestimate or overestimate my food amounts. So feel free to hit up another thread if you dont agree. Also please dont tell ME WHAT TO DO or not to do. Its my G-d given right to have my opinion and last i checked I live in a free country where speech is a constitutional right.... I am entitled to be frustrated and feel overwhelmed. I am HUMAN. Hence this thread is a Support thread - not a "please dont type something I don't want to read because Im a snowflake thread" Feel free to not visit this thread at all if it offends you so much.

Hey SL's

and the inches will come off to help you get into smaller sizes. I also upped my Protein last week. I was avg 65-80. I am up to 95.

Dances with Carbs got a reaction from Slimming Down Steve in Has anyone figured out a good way to get the bubble layer out of our protein isolate shakes?
Premake the night before. That stuff will settle and just stir it with a spoon or lightly shake.

Great analogy, tortoise and the hare and great outlook as well. I'm definitely in this slow losers club. I hit my 3 month stall and the scale hasn't moved for 3 weeks now. I'm still eating between 500 and 800 calories a day. I hit my Protein goal every day and I have significantly upped my Water intake to 100-120 oz a day now. I mountain hike 5 miles at a time, 3 times a week and do yoga twice a week. I know it will come off. It has to. It does get frustrating though. But I'm a tortoise not a hare; I will finish strong not fast.
Thanks GreenTealael

Way up just got back From Cuba and took on a 20 year old for five days! No way before this surgery would i have had the confidence to do that

Dances with Carbs got a reaction from NagathaChristie in I'm constantly hungry 10 days post op, is this normal?
Head hunger. Everytime you think you're hungry. Drink some liquid. I had the same issue after surgery

Dances with Carbs got a reaction from catchthewind in Just had my 6 week follow up and told I need to eat more
Seems counterproductive to me for a professional to want to force that much food in a small pouch that was made just 6 weeks ago to prevent overeating. (Forehead +palm) -
Dances with Carbs reacted to catwoman7 in What do you do to amp up your weight loss/break a stall?
don't go back to liquid shakes. It's just a normal stall. Just stick to your surgeon's plan. They know what they're doing...
