In the last few days, it's slowed down for me. bouncing back and forth a few tenths of a lb. I was hoping to be down 50 by the end of the year... Nevermind on that lol

Good morning! I'm so excited. I've lost way more than I ever thought I would lose. Did anyone else have fears that this wouldn't work? I really thought I was going to go through all of this for no reason and still be fat, and keep gaining weight. It's working! It's hard, but it's working!!

Congrats on the loss! I do still have some pain, and it's kind of random. But if you think about it, our digestive systems had it's "crap" rocked lol and our abs are swiss cheese. So sometimes I forget I had surgery 2 weeks ago... and other times I'm like, oh, there it is. lol

It's going great! I already notice a few differences... my feet aren't as swollen- my flip flops are loose. I'm doing pretty good on eating, nothing has went over bad yet, which is awesome. I'm pretty excited about the weight loss so far. I am struggling to get all my Water in though. The pain is mostly gone, every once in a while I will move wrong and it hurts.

Just as I was getting my groove back, my oldest daughter (17) tested positive for COVID and is feeling crappy. No life threatening symptoms, just miserable with a cold. So now, we are all quarantined. I guess this is what I get for wishing for a day to just relax?! LOL
Side note, COVID-girl baked Cookies today- and I wasn't even tempted! I did find a new way to do the Protein Shake that was yummy, though admittedly probably not the best.... 1 Premier Protein shake cafe latte, 2 tablespoons PB2 chocolate, and a small squeeze of Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup. It tasted like a Peanut Butter cup! I'll definitely save it for a treat because after i looked at the macros I facepalmed!

Aw, thank you. I live in southern missouri. I've driven so I could have gone and gotten it but needed pain meds yesterday, so I didn't take the risk.
Most of the people I told have had some variance of WLS, but I suspect that my friends and sis may be jealous, because they all struggle with weight, and in the past we've done crazy diets together.

I had surgery on Monday... everything went fine, I slept a lot the first 2 days, and really until about 1-2 on the 3rd day. It was like a switch flipped. I'm still in pain when moving, but not constant pain. Was sent home with Hycet, Zofran, and Pepcid. One thing I learned, do not trust a fart. TMI, I know... but seriously.
Today things are going ok... kids are gone to their grandparents for Thanksgiving, so I'm just relaxing and will probably do that the rest of the day!

I know what you mean! There were so many yummy looking commercials and fb posts leading up to my surgery date. Luckily I'm not hungry, so while they look good, after surgery I no longer feel compelled to go into the kitchen and find something as a consolation prize. Just remember, it's TOTALLY worth it!

Had COVID test today(NEGATIVE), phone pre-op, and found out my arrival time is 830am MONDAY!! OMG I can't believe it's almost here! The pre-op diet sucks... I haven't lost near as much as I thought I would, only about 10 lbs so far. My period started, but that shouldn't have much of an impact on it, or I wouldn't think so anyway. I've been so nervous that they would call it off for one reason or another. Now, the only reason I can see that they would call it off would be if they called off elective surgeries, but it doesn't sound like they will.

Right now, nothing really. I've bought some shakes and Protein Bars. sugar free Jello and pudding. I don't start my preop diet until monday, and this weekend the kids and i are running away for the weekend, and I plan on relaxing and not worrrying about it! My doctor has you do Protein Shakes for week one, and one small meal, staying under 800 calories and like 70g of Protein. then week 2 right before surgery is all liquid.

Thanks! I'm so excited and nervous that I'm nauseous! Of course, that could be because of the 2 week liquid diet.... lol

I'm also tomorrow! I'm supposed to be at the hospital at 830am CST. I'm nervous too... and afraid of failure. I've failed at so many other attempts at losing weight... but we can do it!

I had my first and last appointment with my surgeon today. He is really cool, I feel like if we weren't doctor-patient we would move in the same circle. I scheduled surgery and paid my first payment ($1,050) and won't pay anything else until Feb of 2021, not sure what that amount will be. lol Just depends on how the insurance covers it all. But I'm soooo excited! It works out to where I will start the 2 week preop the day the kids and I return from our fall break so won't have to worry about dieting while I'm out of town. Unfortunately I will not be able to eat thanksgiving dinner, but in reality that's ok. My son is leaving for college Oct 26 so we are doing thanksgiving the week before he leaves.
Anyone else have surgery around Nov 23?

before surgery that is! I had to take a pause and wait for covid and changing insurance to go through.. anyway, Oct 13 I will meet the surgeon, go to surgery scheduling, and go over benefits! Sounds like my surgery won't be until November, but it will be SOON!! I'm sooo excited!
