    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

I never got any notice that there was a reply lol Things are still going good! I broke the 200lb mark! It took a lot to hit it, but now I'm below that and I'm never looking back! Every once in a while, I get disappointed because it's slowed down.. but then I realize no matter what, I would have NEVER have been able to lose this much weight in 6 months... probably not even in a year. Just now my work schedule has changed so I'm going to join a gym and hope it picks up from here!

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

Hey everyone! It's been a long time since I've checked in! I'm down to where I can wear just large leggings, size 14 jeans, and large or medium shirts. My smart scale now gets confused over if it's my big football playing kiddo on the scale who's gained a few or me who's lost weight! lol The kids and I went on vacation to Florida and it was nonstop on the go.. and I was able to keep up. I was able to ride every ride at universal/disney. I also was confident enough to walk around the beach in a 1 piece with no cover up! I'm loving life and SO close to being under 200 lbs, which has probably been like 15-17 years for me!

I don't think anyone has lost any weight... but my sister tried to follow the same diet as me... without the surgery. It didn't go well. I had an appointment with body comp last week... I'm down 6.75 inches off my waist! Also, I'm doing low fat, low carb... but recently was told to increase carbs to increase weight loss.

I'm down 45.9 lbs since Nov 9 when I started preop diet. Less than 100 lbs from goal! I had no preexisting conditions and no health conditions before surgery.Yes, overweight, but nothing else. I'm a pre nursing student so I know just enough to make me dangerous! lol

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

Hi everyone! I've been so busy with kids, work, school, and just life! Weight loss has slowed down some, but still 10 lbs in the last month, so way better than I would have ever done on my own! Friday I had a dr appointment with my PCP for a referral about a cyst I have on my forehead... as I lose weight, it's becoming more noticable. I also mentioned I think I had a UTI. So did the customary pee in a cup. She said that the urine showed signs of liver issues... like too much urobilinogen and bilirubin in my urine, as well as ketones. So she ordered blood tests. The blood tests aren't exactly normal either, but of course I haven't heard from her because the test came back after office hours, and she's off on monday and tuesdays. A friend said it may have been because I had fatty liver... but wouldn't someone have said something throughout the whole prep for surgery process if that was the case?
  6. So today I made butternut squash soup. 1 stick of butter, 2 butternut squash, 2 32 oz containers of chicken stock. I don't have surgery until 11/23, but I decided to freeze some of it in muffin pans in just shy of 1/2 cup portions. I have no clue how to know if that will be ok after surgery? I know the butter wasn't a good choice, and probably could have done fat free (is that a thing??) stock. How do I figure out the nutritional value of it? Websites I've found want me to know how much soup it made. I didn't measure it before I ate some for lunch and supper and the kids had some too.

I'm feeling fine... it was just like a 48 hour cold

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

In the last few days, it's slowed down for me. bouncing back and forth a few tenths of a lb. I was hoping to be down 50 by the end of the year... Nevermind on that lol

I don't have enough symptoms to be tested yet. But we've been under quarantine since 12/2

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

I'm so frustrated... my daughter had covid, we're still quarantined. Now I have a bit of a runny nose and am sneezing. I have no clue if I have COVID or a cold...

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

Good morning! I'm so excited. I've lost way more than I ever thought I would lose. Did anyone else have fears that this wouldn't work? I really thought I was going to go through all of this for no reason and still be fat, and keep gaining weight. It's working! It's hard, but it's working!!

Yeah, I can't do pureed. LOL I pick soft foods already, and there's a lot of things on my allowed list that didn't need to be pureed... like baked fish, tuna or egg salad, soup, cream of wheat.

Congrats on the loss! I do still have some pain, and it's kind of random. But if you think about it, our digestive systems had it's "crap" rocked lol and our abs are swiss cheese. So sometimes I forget I had surgery 2 weeks ago... and other times I'm like, oh, there it is. lol

I also took pictures the morning of surgery. I haven't taken any since, I don't want to be disappointed in not seeing a difference! I'm not sure when I will retake them. Maybe at 1 month since surgery?

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

It's going great! I already notice a few differences... my feet aren't as swollen- my flip flops are loose. I'm doing pretty good on eating, nothing has went over bad yet, which is awesome. I'm pretty excited about the weight loss so far. I am struggling to get all my water in though. The pain is mostly gone, every once in a while I will move wrong and it hurts.

No, I'm not really watching macros, but I just finished my BCS165 homework, which was dealing with macros. lol 35 protein, 15 carbs, 4 sugar, 5 fat, 220 calories for the whole thing

Just as I was getting my groove back, my oldest daughter (17) tested positive for COVID and is feeling crappy. No life threatening symptoms, just miserable with a cold. So now, we are all quarantined. I guess this is what I get for wishing for a day to just relax?! LOL Side note, COVID-girl baked cookies today- and I wasn't even tempted! I did find a new way to do the protein shake that was yummy, though admittedly probably not the best.... 1 premier protein shake cafe latte, 2 tablespoons PB2 Chocolate, and a small squeeze of sugar free chocolate syrup. It tasted like a peanut butter cup! I'll definitely save it for a treat because after i looked at the macros I facepalmed!

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

I finally pooped yesterday. lol Figures I would complain about it, and then it happens. I need to dig out my paper and see what stool softeners are allowed though. I haven't had a chance to intentionally "go walking" but man, for this being a week I'm supposed to be recovering, I have TONS of appointments and things that I have to do. I want a day to just relax... lol

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

Monday I had my postop visit and got the stitches taken out and released to pureed foods. Anyone not poop yet? I had a little bit of diarrhea the first day or two home, but nothing since then.As I'm now eating a bit, I thought I would. I don't know that I'm uncomfortable from needing to, and still passing gas, so not worried.

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

Aw, thank you. I live in southern missouri. I've driven so I could have gone and gotten it but needed pain meds yesterday, so I didn't take the risk. Most of the people I told have had some variance of WLS, but I suspect that my friends and sis may be jealous, because they all struggle with weight, and in the past we've done crazy diets together.

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

Things are getting better. I've been able to get up and down as long as I cradle my belly, especially on the left where my drain was and I have stitches. Emotionally, I'm feeling pretty forgotten. Several of my friends and family members know I had surgery... no one has checked on me since I got home on Wednesday. Yesterday i reached out to 4 friends, and my sister (who lives around the corner... like 1/4 of a mile) and asked if someone could get me a cup of egg drop soup (it's on my allowed list and sounds soooo good)... and my sister was too busy decorating for christmas, and only 1 friend answered.... and she was home and she lives farther away than the rest so I understand that. But oh well. I'm ok.

    Nov 2020 Bypass Peeps?

Wow, my doctor requires a 2 night stay.. and there's no way I would have been ok to go home Tuesday. Is your pit thing on the left lower part of your belly? I suspect that's because it was the business end of it all? Not really sure. It actually has stitches, vs the rest are just glued, at least on the surface.

It's wishful thinking... I mean, I haven't eaten anything I wasn't supposed to, and they pushed fluids through iv pretty hard core for almost 36 hours. Plus my period had to start... fingers crossed! first post op appointment on monday. One of my incisions also looks like a big orange sized hole, and I did not sign up for any extra studies. It was the one where I had the drain until I was discharged.
