You probably need to be catheterized. Are you in the hospital? If you don't go to the bathroom they will catheterize. They usually monitor your urine flow. This happened to me every time I had surgery.
If you are home go to the hospital..

Sassenach, you have inspired me to start using Protein Shakes again. I am already monitoring my intake. Though my real problem is lunch.

Hey Suzczar, You needn't drink Protein you don't like. I drank a clear mango flavored Protein Drink by Premier Protein. It was delicious. Lots of different supplements give something else a try.

Hey, you just had surgery give yourself time to heal. Those issues of nausea and gas are to be expected. And if you are now lactose intolerant pay attention to that. The pain from dairy products is short lived but awful.
When drinking your Protein take slow sips and hopefully you will avoid those problems.
there are all kinds of protein supplements. Some aren't even creamy or don't need milk added.
I drank Premier Protein Mango drink (it was like cool aid) and chicken broth.< /em>
clear liquids all the way.
Let me tell you I had such pain. Not from what I ate but from the surgery. there was nothing they could do and oxycodone wouldn't touch the pain. I just lay in bed for a month ( with intermittent bouts of walking to build myself up) and had family do everything for me. when I was in the hospital I even had the nurses lift my legs up on to the bed for me cause I knew I couldn't push past the pain. the nurses called me the screamer cause when I moved the pain was so bad.
But now I am past that and it has been six months and I have no pain and no issues.
Good luck Bunbun!

Wow Georgette, I am sorry you had to go through that. I hope it has resolved itself now.

Try logging your calories on an app when you start eating again. This will help keep you on track.
I'm sorry you are going through this. I went through it with my Mom and had a significant weight regain.
Luckily I could move out of her house to shield me from her bad food choices.

I don't know about SIPS but with gastric bypass the malabsorbtion stop sabout 14 months out.
Maybe you should be using this time to get a handle on your food issues that way you won't experience regain.
Good luck!

Besides hand washing and social distancing. I change out of my work clothes before I see my mother. She is eighty-one. I am an essential worker. I am in defense. Good luck and Aj is right think about your plan for going back don't just react. If you have a plan about how you will act it should calm you. You will feel a bit safer. In the bank I go to they make sure you stay 6 feet away from the tellers by putting a table in front of their areas. I am glad they are keeping them safe.

That's a wonderful loss!!
Maybe you could start to monitor yourself using measurements rather than the scale. It might give you a truer picture of what is happening.

Your doctor and insurance company will determine whether you need or what kind of diet plan you go on.
Most people do go on a diet in order to make their liver smaller. It helps to keep it out of the way during the surgery.
Your insurance company may want you to go on a diet in order to learn new eating habits for your new digestive system.
Good luck to you!

I'm in defense and so considered essential. I am a little frazzled about the thought of being exposed to the virus at work. I have an elderly parent to care for and don't want to exposes her to the virus.

I find it is not worth the calories for the short lived buzz I get do to gastric bypass.
I also here that folks who have had RNY can end up alcoholics trying to chase that lengthy buzz.
I just make do with the occasional drink.

HI Pam,
I had ulcers in my esophagus and that postponed my surgery till the ulcers were gone.
I also had the hiatal hernia and the awful GERD and that was taken care of during surgery.
I can't be sure but It doesn't sound like you need worry about anymore cancellations.
Good Luck!

For me Bupropion, an antidepressant, helped with my eating disorder. Before I had my surgery I was in control of my eating habits enough so that I didn't gain weight this was due to Bupropion which was originally a drug for OCD which eating disorders have a lot in common with. Unfortunately, I was steady at 350 lbs thus the WLS.
There are drugs out their specifically targeted at weight loss patients and cigarette smokers that contain Bupropion.
Contrave is the one I heard about for weightloss patients.
The Bupropion and keeping my distance from trigger foods has always helped me.
Not that it is perfect, I had to move in with my mom and she lived with every trigger food imaginable. During that time I gained a lot of weight. But as soon as I left her house, the bupropion helped me at least not gain anymore. Then it was hard work of dieting that helped me get down 40 lbs.
Good Luck on your weightloss journey and I also think 204 sounds great for a six foot guy.

Good luck! I sympathize with you about a hiatal hernia.
