Having comorbidities such as high blood pressure would incline them to okay your surgery in the hopes that the weightloss will help. So I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Hey Girl! Delco in the house! Jefferson is a great hospital. I am sure you are in good hands. I went to Crozer Chester for my initial RNY. Dr. Katz was good doctor with a great bedside manner. But he is out in Reading now. For my revision to DS, I went to Dr Krecioch at Fitzgerald Mercy. He is a good surgeon but I had an unusual amount of pain post surgery and I felt he wanted to divorce himself from it which was not cool.

As far as Contrave controlling your appetite. I think it is more likely to stop binge eating as it discourages OCD behavior. I am on Bupropion which is one of the ingredients and bupropion and it has helped me stay on track for years.

I swear by Premier Protein premade Orange/Mango clear drink. HIgh in protein. Tastes great.

Which surgery are you getting? Bypass could make you more tired. What with the malabsorption and dumping. The sleeve doesn't cause malabsoption or dumping.

I had an endoscopy that caused my surgery to be postponed. I had ulcers on my esophagus and had to take medicine and then have another endoscopy to prove that the meds worked. That need to make sure that your in good shape for the surgery. If you have a hiatal hernia they won't postpone the surgery because they will repair it during that surgery. I regained seventy pounds after my weightloss. It took me two years to lose 40lbs. Still working on the next 30. You can get a revision to RNY but first you should work on why you started eating again and how to address that. I am not on board with super restrictive dieting. It doesn't work for me. I just rebel. It is part of my eating disorder to binge if I am too restrictive. I just watch what I eat and only eat 4 times a day. This is why my weightloss has been so slow since the regain. But you need to find out what works for you. I am a big believer in out of sight, out of mind. So I do not keep any trigger foods in my house. Living with my Mom and her house of trigger foods was what caused my regain. I have to take care of her but I can not live with her. so I moved nearby. Good luck with your weightloss. If I can do it, I feel certain you can.

Sounds like your surgeon has crappy office staff. My surgeon and his staff made the date for my surgery that day. And it was like six months out. You need to get on that staff. Do you know the name of the person who coordinates the surgeries? You need to speak to them asap. Good Luck and stand up for yourself.

One thing if it is dumping you can get it from other carbs not just sweets.

Never heard of this but it makes better sense recoverywise than the starvation one usually has initially with weightloss surgery. Yes, There are no more self administered pain meds. They are very concerned with patients becoming addicted. This drove me crazy as I was in a lot of pain (which believe me poster is not usual at all) and oxycodone did nothing to stop it. I would have killed for a morphine drip. Don't worry poster my situation is very different from yours I was getting a revision from RNY to SADI and I am sure you will be fine.

I had revision due to weight regain. But I think I am an outlier. If I had to do it again I wouldn't. I have had no weightloss due to the surgery. Just my usual two pounds a month due to dieting. I had a surgery that isn't done very often. It was from RNY to a gastric sleeve and SADI. I think most people who have WLS revision due to weight regain after an RNY have a distal revision. But I'll let them talk about there surgery, if they are lurking around.

Hi If you live alone you can just get rid of binge inducing foods. I lived with my MOm and put on seventy lbs post op because she had all sorts of bingeable carbs. I can not control myself around carbs so I control my environment, Get on this whether with therapy or a change in what is available in your home. It took me two years to lose 40 lbs. Still working on the last thirty. Don't head down this path if you can help it. Good Luck!

As I understand it.There is a lot of Estrogen in fat. So as you lose it the estrogen is released into your body. Et voila! You become very fertile!

I live alone so I don't have anything but prepared meals in my fridge. No snacks are available in my home. I have very little control over snacks if they are available. If I want a snack I have to make an effort. I usually don't feel like going out to get snacks. I drink a lot of water and sugar free drinks if I feel genuinely hungry. That usually does it for me. I too am a bored eater. I am trying to address this by starting a hobby.

I had a big weight gain. I was eating things I shouldn't because my home situation changed. After the 70 lb weight gain. I moved out of the situation I was in. I have lost close to 40 lbs. It took years and I am still trying to get back to my previous weight. Hopefully I will lose 50 Lbs more. To get to a more sensible weight. I had RNY and tried a revision surgery to SADI. It doesn't seem to be doing much good. Maybe I am eating too many calories. I was eating between 1500 to 1200. Now I am eating 1000 to 1200. My doctor wants me to go lower than 1000. I am not sure how you do that without relying on protein drinks. Which he told me not to do. I lost 17 lbs since the surgery 12/4. Most of that was during the preop diet and the initial post surgical time. Any suggestions about this situation are welcome.
