My insurance company required I use a "center of excellence" so that pretty much forced me to use the hospital/doctor that I did. Turned out pretty well though.

I would ask the medical professionals advise from the team that you are working with.

6 weeks post-OP (technically that is tomorrow), but tried some cho-cho chicken from local Chinese place. Basically marinated chicken breast satay, four skewers. I could only eat about one and half skewers, about 3 oz. Guess I have lunch for Thursday and Friday as well. Just want to represent for all us noobs out here.

Welcome, it sounds like you are on a good path. Keep up the positivity and good luck with your journey.

I work from home and have a sedentary desk job. I had surgery on a Thursday released fro hospital on Saturday and took the next week off. Back to work on Monday so about ten days off for me. Was tired, but it was manageable.

If is a larger incision, your surgeon might have put a stitch in to help keep it closed. You might be feeling it. Check with your doctor to be sure.

Make sure you know if you need to lose weight or just maintain. I didn't have to lose weight, just needed to not gain any. My surgeon wanted me to lose 77 lbs so surgery would be easier on me, so I did lose weight during my visits.

I do the calcium chews. They have lots of different flavors. I have the French vanilla caramel. They are pretty good.

Technically I am not cleared for regular food until this Thursday, but I have had some bites of things. I can have low fat cheese, so I have had some weight watchers string cheese with a couple of slices of deli turkey for a snack. I would love to have som fruit, but I don't think I could fit it in and still get all my Protein. I just can't eat enough yet to have both.

Supposed to start "normal" foods this Thursday, but I didn't have anything ready for lunch so I had a rotisserie chicken thigh without the skin. Ate the whole thing, but I am stuffed. My stomach is handling well though. It is amazing. Before surgery I could eat half a chicken and still have room for potatoes, veggies and bread.

I am doing Benefiber and also taking stool softener daily. I am pretty regular with that, but still can not go for a couple of days. If you can't talk about it here, where can you.

Yes, they typically tilt your head down 15 to 30 degrees. Called the Trendelenburg position.

The incision that is bruised is where they took the piece of your stomach out. Talk to your doctor about what types of things to take to help you go such as stool softener (colace), Miralax, milk of magnesia, etc. Your intestines are in slow motion due to the anesthesia and pain meds. Also you aren't eating very much either which doesn't help.

I just need some time my stomach is empty. So I will eat right before I drink. Then I’ll wait til I feel less full and drink some more. But while I am working or out and about. I only bring with me my 20oz ice Water. I can do pretty big gulps now. And that is so refreshing!!! I miss chugging water also. But my gulps r pretty awesome now lol I enjoy them. And after I drink water I feel full. I have never felt full off water lol I love it.
I can't quite chug, but I can take about 3 to 4 big drinks in a row. That can leave me feeling bloated as well. I can do a 20 oz bottle of Powerade zero in about an hour. I am doing pretty good with getting 64 oz in daily. I was always carrying around a big cup of water prior to surgery, so sipping constantly was a good habit I already had.
