    60" waist to 32" photo

    Fantastic, you are an inspiration.
  2. Yes, I had to lose 77 lbs before I could have surgery. Some insurance policies require people to lose 10% of their body weight. Thirteen pounds doesn't seem like that much. Count your calories a do some walking each day. As part of the pre-op you will probably meet with a nutritionist, so ask them for help.

You probably won't see him much, but the rest of the staff there are fantastic.

No, I guess I don't mind cold food I guess. You could try putting your plate in oven on low temperature to heat it up before putting food on it. I saw Alton Brown use a heating pad to keep food warm on the Good Eats TV show. Maybe that might work?

First day on soft foods for me today. I had egg beaters omelette with reduced fat cheddar cheese and some canned chicken breast. Forgot to snap a pic, but it was delicious. I could only eat about 3/4 of it though. Going to have buffalo chicken dip for lunch.

    Robotic sleeve surgery

I have had two robotically assisted surgeries. My sleeve was done robotically on January 16 and I had a piece of my colon removed in December 2018 robotically. There are lots of advantages. First is there is less incision pain. In laparoscopic surgeries the cannula move in the incisions. With robotically assisted surgeries the only movement is inside your abdomen. Second is the surgeon has much better magnified 3D view . Third is the can use a dye in your bloodstream which will fluoresce so the surgeon can see blood vessels better. Fourth is the surgeon has much more precise control over the instruments being use down to the millimeter. I am sure there are more, but those are the ones I remember. Robots may one day rise up and take over, but until that day, I reccomend robotically assisted surgery.

There will be good weeks and bad weeks, but it will all average out.

    Pre op tests

My insurance required 90 day weight management program with a doctor. Didn't have to lose weight, but couldn't gain any weight. For pre-op testing I had bloodwork, EKG, sonogram of my gallbladder, and EGD. I also had psychological evaluation, pre-op class and meet with nutritionist. You can't really "faiil" any test, but the tests may uncover some things that need to be taken care of prior to surgery.

    Hip pain increased?

My hips, knees and ankles have all gotten better since I have lost weight. I have gout and I did have an attack starting about a week after surgery, but I think that was due to me not taking my allopurinol which reduces uric acid whi h causes gout attacks. We also had some cold weather and snow which can also cause gout attacks. Staying hydrated helps as well.

What did your doctor and/or nutritionist say you could have? My pre-op diet allowed 1 cup of vegetables or fruit twice a day. Stick with what the information that you were given.

    Protein

Try mixing unflavored protein powder into the food you can eat.

    Sleeve Percentage Difference!

My doctor didn't go into percentages. He said my new stomach would be the size of a small banana. Each surgeon has their own preferences.

Very nice. I had to buy ring size adjuster as my wedding band felt like it was too loose. Hopefully everyone will need them. Here are the ones I got and they work well. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Q3RCQGY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

I had tried Syntrax Nectar. The have some pretty good flavors. I like the grape the best. You can get a sample pack of it, but it isn't just all fruit flavors though.

    Food Before and After Photos

Toss your wings in baking powder before you bake them. Bake them at 350 for 20 minutes then up the temp to 400 for the last 20 minutes. They will turn out crispy and ready to be tossed in your favorite sauce.

    Water

Sounds like you are finding your limits. Just keep sip, sip, sippin' with what works for you as long as you are getting your water in daily.

I have done egg drop soup and today hot and sour soup and had no problem with either. I start soft foods on Thursday and I am looking forward to scrambled eggs. I use egg beaters, don't know if they are better or worse than real eggs on the new stomach or not.

    Post op stage 3

On my liquids phase I could have sugar free popsicles, jello and pudding. I took SF pudding and mixed two scoops of protein powder into it. This will bump the protein up and help satisfy you. I also bought some popsicles molds and used them to make protein popsicles out of protein shakes. Just having that helped me. I also had greek yogurt. Dannon Oikos triple zero is good. Just remember to take small spoonfuls and wait between bites. I was taking anywhere between 30 to 60 seconds between spoonfuls.

    Surgery date 2/4

It does get better. Have you tried watering down the protein shakes? They also make protein water, but that may be too sweet as well. This site has fruit flavored protein mixes that are pretty good. I have tried the orange and like it. They also make unflavored protein powder which you can mix into things you can stand to drink. I got a nice double walled cup in the hospital and I carry it everywhere. It holds 18 oz and has markings for every ounce and that makes it easy to track how much water I have drank.

Just went to the gym this morning and did 30 minutes on the recumbent bike. Pre-surgery I was exercising 4 to 5 days a week and felt pretty good. Today I felt week like a kitten even though I did a very easy pace. Just got keep going though.
