  1. Hi everyone, hope you all had a nice Christmas. I have had stomach pains for a while, which I put down to constipation, Went to A&E and was told Id a UTI and was given anti biotics , but then started vomiting- and had 2 massive bouts of diarrhoea. I tried to ring the bariactric team, but couldn’t get to talk to anyone , so rang 111, but by the time they rang me back , it had stopped after the diarrhoea attack. Ihave gone back to the beginning on a liquid diet , and so far am sipping skimmed milk which has been ok . Has anyone else experienced any thing like this ? I’m scared to try anything else, but had anyone got any ideas if sugarfree jelly , thin soup, or protein shakes would be ok at the moment ? I’m not sure if I can take vitamins with only liquid . I know I need to speak to my team and will do . I am 4 months post op . Thank you for reading this .
  2. I couldn’t find how to get into chat either Im hopeless on some of these sites ?I emailed them and they said I can ring them , which I did earlier ....well......I thought I did , but rang a wrong number .No hope really is there ! I’ll try again tomorrow . Thanks Fluffy ❤️
  3. Can anyone help me ? I’m trying to order from the Bariactric Store, I created an account , got my items in my cart ,and can’t get any further . It’s not taking me to the checkout, what am I doing wrong?
  4. Hi Mrs Btown, Congratulations on your surgery ! ? I know what you mean, I used to have Slimfast , but couldn’t tolerate them after a while either.when I told my dietician I was making them with fruit , she said the only trouble is fruit has sugar in it . However I read in other places that we can have fruit as long as we pick the right ones , and in moderation I make them 2 different ways . 1). small amount of frozen berries 1 protein shot. Blitz it until it’s thick and smooth. If I want it a bit thinner , I put a little bit of sugar free squash or juice in. The protein shot gives you 24g of protein . 2). 1 scoop of flavoured Whey Protein powder . Approx. 1/2 pint of milk. ( or more if you want it thinner ) 4 ice cubes . ( optional ). Blitz until thick and smooth. What I was advised by my dietician to up my protein , was to make up 1 pint of milk , with 4 tablespoons of skimmed milk powder , and use throughout the day . Gives you 40g of Protein ! How’s it going ? I wish you all the very best on your journey. ? Good Luck !
  5. I am 4 months post op , and finding it very difficult to eat ,although Ive been drinking all the time , however, Ive started to feel nauseous when drinking .Ive started making protein shakes at mealtimes because so can get them down easier .

  9. That’s true! And don’t be too hard on yourself, you’re not the first person and you won’t be the last , and I bet a lot of people are not as honest about it you. We’re all going to do it at some point at least once .
  10. Sounds great! and it doesn’t upset your stomach ?? ohhhh ........I knew it was too good to be true - I bet we can’t get peanut butter powder and marshmallow dip here- I’m in the UK !?
  11. Hi . Can everyone tell me if we’re safe to take Fybogel at 4 months post op? I’ve tried looking it up online , but can’t find anything .
  12. Is Stevia not good for us ? I was told it was one of the ‘better sweetners’ So I sometimes use it. Is there a better alternative does anyone know?
  13. Oh my gosh!! I really felt for you when I read your post . What a nightmare ! It’s hard enough to make the decision to have this surgery as it is, without all that stress . I’m glad you finally got it approved, and will be thinking of you on 17th. I wish you all the very best on journey l
  14. Thank you MarvelGirl. That’s what I’m doing , and was just hoping I was doing it right , so thank you. for putting my mind at rest ?I don’t see how we can increase the calories if we’re stopping when we’re full, if I tried to eat more I’d be ill!
  15. How many calories are we supposed to be eating now ? I don’t think I have 1,000 calories
  16. well done Bethow! you look great ! and yes , I can see more confidence in you in the last picture, than in the first one. Good for you !
  17. Hi , thank you everyone who replied to my post about being thirsty . I’m sorry I couldn’t reply , but couldn’t get any emails due to a glitch in my system. SO frustrating ! Ive got them back now , and am currently going through 400 and something of them ! Hope everyone is doing good .
  18. Hi, is anyone else always thirsty ? I am 12 weeks post op and keep wanting to drink water with half the glass filled with ice cubes . I’ve read that it can be an Iron deficiency to want to eat ice cubes , but I don’t want to crunch them, I just want them in the drink , or to make ice chippings and eat them. I always want sharp tasting things too. How long do we have to sip our drinks for, and hsve to wait half an hour between eating and drinking ? Or is it an ongoing thing ?
  19. Thank you so much for replying ? What exactly are electrolytes drinks?
  20. Thank you Prestonandme.
  21. It’s awful what you’re going though . I really hope you get sorted soon , but you’re reaction to the last reply was so lovely . I hope they listen to you .
  22. Hi everyone . I I’m 11 weeks post op after a bypass , and. think I’ve got a mild dose of flu after having a flu injection. I can’t eat , but am constantly thirsty , but can only take sips of fluids , does anyone have any ideas please ?
