Ypease... wow you’re coverage doesn’t provide anything? I’m sorry to hear that! I agree I think my 3 months will be faster than 6.

Krimsonbutterflies... I’m sorry you have to wait. I’m sure it is for the best though. So you can pick your surgeon? They didn’t just assign you one? That’s pretty cool! I wonder if I’ll get to do that too! 😃

Krimsonbutterflies and Jonah have y’all learned yet who’s doing your surgery? Which kaiser location are y’all at?

Do y’all have Kaiser for your insurance provider? Or do y’all have a PPO plan?

GradyCat- Can I ask why you didn’t have to attend the classes? Do you have any serious condition that they’re speeding up the process? I just found out I have a stress fracture in my left foot from my weight.

So I have Kaiser and I have attended the first class of orientation and I’m scheduled to begin the rigorous 12 week class on Aug 5 and ending Oct 28. I meet the guidelines with my co-morbidities. I honestly cannot wait to get the classes finished. I have seen some posts where people don’t do them and others who have. I understand why we need them, I just am beyond ready for this surgery. I’m in excruciating pain daily and I’m extremely exhausted day in day out. I want it all to end and I don’t know if I can wait out the long timeframe. It seems like Dec would be the surgery timeframe based on my reading. How did y’all do it? How did y’all get through these classes? I know the light at the end of the tunnel is faint right now, I’m just anxious at this point and wish it could be the big day already. I’m beyond ready to get my life back from pain. I understand there’s going to be pain from the surgery, however, it’s temporary. I keep telling myself at this point so is all my other pain... Looking forward to a healthier lifestyle!!

I told people i was doing a medically supervised weight loss program. Which is kind of true haha. I basically told them my actual diet but that it was a nutritionist and doctor supervised program, not a surgery. Works on all fronts so far.

Oh my goodness... I get up 3-4 times per night to pee too!! And I have nights sweats badly lately too. Getting a great nights sleep again is what I’m looking forward too the most about this machine. And the additional bonus that it helps me get approved for my surgery 😉

I’ve decided to get the machine. I need it. Can’t stand how exhausted I am and not to mention forgetful. My insurance covers 80% so not too much out of pocket. I have the co morbidities for my surgery and AZhiker said it adds to my approval. So I’m getting the machine.

jaymmee reacted to Coexister in Psychological roller coaster
I am 9 days post-op and I was not prepared for the emotional roller coaster that comes along with this surgery. Yesterday, I woke up with 0 energy and just feeling like an emotional wreck! Spent most of the day walking through a fog and crying. Luckily the nurse from the hospital had called to check up on me when I was feeling my lowest and reassured me that the way I was feeling was normal. That we were Psychologically starving and would naturally go through a lot of ups and downs as our hormones are shifting all over the place but would eventually settle down. She said we will go through spells of were we are burning up and then at times will be cold and that this is the body adjusting to our new way of eating. She said the gastric sleeve only gives you the capacity to eat 30% of what you ate before. She said before you know it your body will finally adjust and start burning fat and then you will have tons of energy and will be running circles around everyone else and not looking back. She said that is why you go through so many classes before surgery. She was very helpful to me and gave me information I had not been given. I did not tell her but In my clinic I had only been through 2 classes pre-surgery and that was the initial seminar that talked about surgery and why it was good for you and then only one other with the dietitian for the pre-op and post-op diet. I had only met the doctor twice which was the initial visit and then follow-up to labs and testing. So I don't think I went through what is usually the norm for this surgery and was much less prepared then most. I am so grateful for this forum as it has helped me with so many issues I was not aware of that I would face in this journey. the nurse on the phone had told me I should find a bariatric seminar near me and a pal to call when I am really low as they can talk you though it? My psychiatrist is so busy that it is hard to get an appointment with him and so I only see him about once a month and he hasn't been much help in this journey.
