I know what you mean, I spent all day checking back in to see if it was fixed. I was relieved this morning to see everything is ok. Weird how we can become so attached to something. Glad everything is back and running though!:clap2:

Hey guys,
My surgery is just a little under 2 weeks aways and I am sooooooo nervous. I feel so committed now and I know it's really going to happen, but every time I think about it, I get this icky butterflies-in-the-stomach feeling. I come here to LBT for support and reading the posts seems to help, but did any one do any thing else to take their minds off of it? This is my first time for surgery, heck its my first time in a hospital period. (for myself that is) and I guess I'm just really nervous.... :paranoid What can I do to feel better??

Thats a big motivator! Congratulations!

Don't feel to bad, maybe the person who got it will return it to sender, maybe in a week you will get it back and you can resend it.

Not to take over the thread, but on the same note, since it's Easter I was giving candy eggs to my students, and then I offered the left overs to some parents waiting in the hall. One of the mothers patted my belly and told me not to eat any. A total stranger touching me and telling me what to put in my mouth. I just smiled and left. I could have slugged her. People have good intentions but they really have no idea how rude they are being. It's hard to shrug it off, but thats part of our society. :speechles

I love the Stupid Girls song, and the video is even funnier. Good to know there are still some sensible people left in high places.

Hey Susan,
This question has been posted many times before and the answer is yes, many people cheat on the pre diet (I stress pre, because post op cheating could be dangerous) and I am in the same boat as you, I need to start the liquid diet next week and to be honest I'm not sure how I'm going to do it, but I know it will pay off in the long run, hopefully making recovery easier. ( and less gassy!)

I'm being banded on the same day as you, although not with the same doctor. I'll be thinking about ya when they put me to sleep, knowing I'm not the only one!

My doc is having me do a liquid diet 1 week before surgery and I have a BMI of 40.5. I heard however it helps with the gas and pain afterwords, not to mention easing you into the liquid diet after surgery.

You look awesome!!!!!!

Sorry to get off topic here but you don't even need to upload the pictures to a web album or any thing, LBT does that for you. All you need to do is:
Click on the paper clip icon when you reply or start a thread (it's next to the smiley face) A new window will open, and then find the photos on your computer and click upload. Then close that window, and just click on the paper clip icon again. The photo you uploaded will be there and you can just insert it.

hum....his info doesn't seem quiet right. Just because you have no history doesn't mean that there might not be something. How does he know what your blood test will show just from the color of your skin? Sorry I know this isn't much help. Let us know what else happens.

I'm waiting on my easter bunny as well....the mail here in Portugal can be soooo slow sometimes. It usually takes over 2 weeks to get any thing from the US. I hope my bunny didn't have to spend to much on shipping! :Banane04:

Hey Tx,
Where would u rate the pain on the lower back tattoo? Which one was the least painful?
-
Hey Suzi,
Sorry to butt in but I resized the photo for you.
To everyone: All the tats look great! I wanted one when I turned 18 but chickened out and got my tongue pierced instead, I also had my belly button pierced (even being 70lbs over weight) but eventually had it removed because it was becoming infected (my tummy folds over and it was dark and moist in that area so it never really healed properly) If I get to goal and if I don't chicken out, I would like to get one on my lower back. Or on the back by the shoulder, similar to Suzi's.

I haven't been banded yet, but per the diet my dietitian gave me I'm supposed to be eating every 2 hours after surgery for good! In each phase I'm supposed to eat a small amount every 2 hours or so.
-
Well, the diet I was given only says Soups, yogurts, and fresh fruit juices. Is that really what I'm supposed to eat for a week?? I was thinking about making some kind of Protein Shake or carnation Breakfast shake or something for in the morning, Soup with a yogurt for lunch and dinner, maybe pudding and Jello for Snacks in between?

Any one wanna come in and chat with me? :blah:

Did you try Panadol? It's similar to Tylenol but I find it works better for me.
Ps: I LOVE your new avatar....much less scary then the other one...Chistopher Walken *shiver* ew. :biggrin1:

I love to play tennis and I also would love to find some one to play with....problem is I doubt we live any where near each other!

Animals think their humans, I don't think they realize their different from us. We wanted to get a 2nd cat and we brought one home from a shelter. The cat only stayed one night (turned out he had an infection and was dying from it. We had to take him back to the shelter) but the next day when the cat was gone, Mia (my first one) went around the house looking for him and meowing... after only 1 day.
We now have gotten a 2nd cat from a shelter but shes a kitten and very playful. Mia acts like the kitten is just an annoyance, but every time the kitten meows for something Mia comes running over looking all concerned! It's very cute. Mia is the orange cat and Annie is the kitten. (but hubby calls her mini kitty. I don't think she knows her name is Annie yet!)

Hello all,
I will be starting the liquid diet on the 19th. My surgeon only wanted me to do it for 1 week...but GEEZ it seems to hard to do that...how are you guys doing? What kinds of things are you eating? I have some Soup mixed my mom sent me, as well as Portuguese Soups, and yogurts, but apart from that I'm out of ideas. Maybe some milkshakes or something?

Well, I live in Portugal so I'm sure the pricing is different. I think I'm ok for now, if after I lose weight with the band I'm still having trouble sleeping then maybe I'll look into it, but I didn't start having these problems until recently, and I think its probably more due to stress, or job related then any thing else. Thanks for the input though!
Time flies when your having fun?

Thanks for the support guys, I guess its just cold feet I mean this isn't to be taken lightly.
Susan: we will have to keep each other updated on our progress since we are getting it done about the same time, and I start the liquid diet on Wednesday and I am NOT looking foward to it at all! But I think it will be well worth it in the end!
Paula: Big bazoombas eh? I thought they shrank when you lose weight? I think my hubby is afraid mine are going to shrink! It's nice to see some one with stats similar to mine. I think I have seen some photos of you in the before and after thread. A size 12 at 180lbs would rock!
HarleyNana: It was brave of you to go first! I will be my surgeons 11th patient and I don't believe there will be any one else there (at least he hasn't told me there will be) I just keep telling myself one step at a time and take a deep breath!
