    Amen Carlene! The car honking outside, the kids yelling in the football field across from my building, and all the dogs barking in the buildings around me don't usually bother me. It was just the drilling in the wall next to us that did it for me :rolleyes

    ahahahaha...thats kind of funny actually susan. That guy is just being silly expecting people to not do any thing until 12:00. As much as i hate the construction, it has to be done i suppose and they are following the rules. Here it's Monday-Friday 8am to 5pm that they can work.

    Coolest Car EVER!

    Thanks! Would u believe that in accident surveys they found the number 1 leading cause of accidents was from people who didn't readjusting the mirrors after some one else had driven the car! I would have thought cell phones, or eating in the car, or the radio, but the number 1 was that. So all the better for me. Besides he's getting a civic in black with black interior....to manly for me, its going to be interesting when we have to go some place together :heh:

    Frick, Frick, frickity, FRICK!

    I work until 10 every night so i only get in around 10:30 or so and have dinner around 11pm, its after 1 or 2 am usually when i go to bed, so i usually sleep until 10 or so...but it's been so hot at night here and we don't have central ac (silly europeans) so its hard to sleep at night and i usually do my best sleep between 5am or so and 10am. And now they are taking that away from me. I can't wait until we move! Lawn service at 7am?! OMG I'd be livid. And 10 months of construction...geezzz...what ever happened to noise pollution??

    hey way to go! I know how hard it is. I struggled to graduate with a 3.0 in my undergrad program it isn't easy! What grad program are you doing?

    Slippage

    Hey Anna, Usually the doctors do a complete unfill to see if the band will fall back into place. Sometimes it does, and sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't then surgery is usually required. At least this is what I have understood. There are some out there who have had slipped bands, I'm sure they will weigh in.

    Another Wedding Topic-Advise Please

    Thanks every one, so it sounds like it's ok to go ahead with this then. I just didn't want people to think we were tacky people trying to get gifts or anything. I just want to have a nice day with friends and family..and darn it i want my dress. And that may even be incentive for me to get this weight off! I want to have beautiful wedding photos to show my kids some day. Nickswife, I'm sending you a pm.
  11. Hey there, I'm 26 but I was banded when I was 25. I didn't realize how many young people their where around here! I haven't had much luck with my band so far but hopefully that will change. I'm moving next month from Portugal back to Florida.
  12. Hi Everyone, It's been awhile since I have been here. Life has been so darn hectic for me with the move back to the US. I just have a lot to get off my chest, so I figured this was a good place to do it. I haven't lost hardly any thing since I got banded. But I'm not blaming the band, it's my fault for not "working" with the band. I try to follow the rules, but I inevitable break them. I have seen my band doctor but he doesn't really say much. At the moment I am supposed to be filled to capacity. 9cc. But other then a few foods I have to avoid, I can pretty much eat what I want in the amount that I want as long as I eat slow. I'm not sure why that is since I'm supposed to be completely filled. I have seen the nutritionist and she keeps telling me to eat several times a day, but since at work we only get 10min breaks with no lunch break its hard to eat anything, and when I get off work by 10pm, I'm starving and I eat way more then I should for dinner and then go to bed. The doctor says I can't eat dinner that late, but since I only get off at 10pm every night, I have no choice. As far as exercise, I have been going about 3 times a week on avg to a Curves type gym.(some weeks more some weeks less) Plus the school I work in is 4 floors with no elevator and I'm always going up and down. Plus I walk about a block or so to work because thats how far away the parking garage is. I probably should exercise more regularly but at least I'm doing some exercise. Things are about to change for me however. We are flying back to Florida on July 4th and I'm going to start a new teaching job with a normal school schedule. The apartment we are renting is in a very nice complex with lakes to walk around, tennis courts, and a fitness center. I'm hoping to take advantage of all of that. I lost some considerable weight before banding on Atkins, so I was thinking about doing South Beach when I get back. (healthier version of Atkins I've been told) I've been very stressed about the move and about hubby adapting to American life. Plus trying to rent our place here in Portugal and selling our cars etc. I have been really emotional and depressed, and the fact that it's been over a year and I have lost next to nothing doesn't help. I'm looking forward to seeing a band doctor in Florida who is highly recommended. Don't get me wrong I have full confidence in my doctor here as a surgeon. But for any thing else...well...I have no idea what he's thinking. Okay, well sorry this post is so long but I had to get it all off my chest. Any advice or words of wisdom would be appreciated.

    Moving to Florida

    Hey that sounds great! I sure would love too! Just let me know a date and time and I will see if I can make it. If it's on a weekend it shouldn't be a problem at all. beachgirl....ahhh...i'm gonna have to look at a map. :eek: I'm from polk county and I lived in Tampa for awhile, and my grandparents are in charlotte county, so I dont know much outside of that area. when are u moving down?
  14. Thanks for the responses guys. You know I don't know why the doc said 9cc was full. I could have sworn he told me I have the VG band which I thought was 12cc. And 9cc seems weird to me any way. And I am afraid of pouch dilation as well since I seem to be able to eat so much. I'll feel better once I get to the doctors in the US and it will be easier to communicate. I'll keep every one posted. Alex, I just wanted to say I'm sorry about your band removal and I hope your doing well. I feel so guilty for not taking advantage of it properly when I have the chance, and here some people lose their band all together. I really need to get on the ball before it's to late.

    Moving to Florida

    Hey everyone! Hey Mandy...long time no talk..Yes, I'll be there in September, we are moving in July so we should really look each other up. Hey Brenda, your really close to me. What band doctor do you see? One in Tampa or one in Orlando? Or is there one in Lakeland now? Don't get discouraged, u have only been banded 2 months, we can work on it together! Feel free to pm me or e mail me as well. Beachgirl, where exactly is Fort Waldon Beach? I haven't been there before.

    To Spank or not to Spank

    My mom use to spank us and hit us in anger. The last time she hit me she slapped me across the face with an open palm when I was 16. She tried to slap me again but I grabbed her wrist and that was the last time she tried it. I wish she hadn't done things like that, but I don't hold a grudge against her, and I think that I turned out just fine. When / if I have kids, I would not be against the occasional swat on the bottom if it's necessary. But there is a time and a place and like some said, as children grow, different things are appropriate like grounding etc. To each their own methods, but I for one as a teacher and tired of teaching kids who are rude and disrespectful and who's parents refuse to acknowledge that they need to teach their kids some manners. I'd like to swat a few of them across the bum myself.

    Self Sabbatoge

    I know how you feel. I'm there right with you. I'm pretty good all day and then boom at night....animal. It stinks. And I'm afraid to tell my doctor as well. I'm seeing a nutritionist and she wants to send me to a psycologist...she thinks my eating is psychological and she wants to work out my issues. Lets hope so.

    Extreme Frustration

    I know how hard it is to get under 200. That seems to be the most difficult point for all of us. I have been struggling with it myself. I don't have much advice other then to just exercise and watch your diet which is what I'm trying to do. I went to my nutritionist and she has me on a diet and I'm trying to hit the gym 4 times a week. Stay positive. Change is always good...maybe change up your diet a bit or your exercise routine...you never know what could have you blocked. Good Luck!
  23. I'm feeling good, just wanted to say that I made it to the gym today and that I have had a good morning this morning....now if I can only do this every morning!!! I've got chicken breast sitting out for lunch and hopefully I can keep my snacking to a minimum today.... What have you done good today?

  25. Thanks Mandy, Those are some good theories. I'm going to try drinking before bed because I usually eat so late. Plus I don't get my daily 2liters in any way so this should help. Thanks!
