Burlington coat factory have bigger sizes, not much I can wear at work. Goodwill has mostly been a miss. (Just got some slacks on sale at Penny's) 2. I have a timer in my pocket to remind me to drink water during the day, and I am using Kirkland brand powdered fiber to stay regular. Any other suggestions? 3. I am a therapist so I walk for ten minutes between sessions during the work day (Using ankle weights at home when I walk) Any other ideas during the work day? 4. Still have a low sex drive, but better than it was at this current weight; suggestions? 5. I am using an Instant Pot/ Vitamix blender and a smoker/grill so I have been thrilled with a variety of food choices. 6. I am sticking to a plate with measurements for portion control and am still full after 1/4 cup of protein (salmon, chicken/beef) 7. Can't wait to hear from many of you!

    Feeling exhausted

WOW!! You took a trip early. One week after my surgery I went to the market, pushed an empty cart and was exhausted. I am impressed! Yes, your energy will be low; major surgery, and eating and drinking next to nothing. so, it took me six weeks to get up to the water levels I needed. So, try sipping and ounce of water every 5 minutes. Then when you have liquid protein, its still sip, sip, sip, and walk, and sleep. Down the line, think about getting an Instant Pot, a Vitamix Blender, and a air fryer. They really help with making multiple, healthy, fun bariatric meals. Keep up the great job your are doing. Don't push yourself, you need to heal.
  3. Hi Team, Well, I had to go to NE for a funeral; Of course lots of stress. Drama. I ate well, water, protein shakes, eggs, avoided comfort farm foods in Creighton NE. The hardest part was (besides stress) was high heat and humidity. No way to do aerobic exercise, so long walks. Then of course, coming back home, and lots of stress at my work place. So, for me, I am beating stress with: Elliptical machine Home small set of bar bells Lots of water Moving around between patients at work Music, action movies Fun on Social media on Facebook Of course, being a therapist, I started some short term therapy for me. Got approved for a monthly B-12 shot, which has helped with energy (One so far) Eight weeks, -64 pounds How are all of you dealing with stress, work, family, weight loss ? Wishing newbies and long termers well! Brian

Given airline restrictions I am bringing 4 protein bars, and will ask for plenty of water on the flight. Once we land, going to the market to get what I need/can eat. Any other tips? Thanks, Brian Grossman

    Week 5 Update

Internal: I have listened to positive motivational podcasts, self-help books that I love. Trying to embrace this is a permanent lifestyle, eating, drinking, exercise change. At times I worry I'll eat the same types of food over and over. Then I look at Pinterest, cooking books and know I will still have fun cooking, eating, and being with family at meals. Just anxious about what work will be like with eating between patients. (I work at a prison.) I am 5 weeks out and have lost 54 pounds and am off medication (Blood pressure, diabetes) So, still EXCITED. My goal is to lose 120 pounds and keep it off for life!

Scrambled eggs, pudding, protein shake, tuna, salmon, cottage cheese, soups, protein water. NON spicy chili. 4) Look up this stage on You Tube, Pinterest and you will get TONS of ideas. 5) What motivates you? Listen to music, podcasts, watch some favorite movies. Keep moving every 20 minutes. I hope this helps.

  15. Ok, I think I am normal, I think I am normal. Thursday will be 21 days post surgery. As a car passenger, visited my parents, one hour each way. Rested at the folks house. Just starting pureed food. Got home, super tired. Next day, one mile walk in morning and night decent energy. Today, in a fog. Also, when trying to do some work on the internet, (seeking new work) concentration is limited. Any thoughts? GREAT NEWS, for right now, my primary care doctor says stay off my diabetes and blood pressure meds. YAHOOO! For anyone on the fence, do this surgery.

    Day 13

Today is day 13 post Gastric sleeve. Still sipping an ounce of liquid at a time. Pre-surgery, I loved Protein 2.0 water, now, I can't take it. Isopure tastes pretty good. I am on full liquids. Trying bone broth for more protein, loved the HealthSmart (Baripal brand next month)powdered soups, and applesauce. Part of a scrambled egg takes 20 minutes to eat, and I am stuffed. Making really thin protein shakes. Looking forward to your reactions, tips, and feedback. Happy Pre-July 4th!

    Dat ten

(Ten Days out)To vary the routine, I am switching between Vitamin water, Gatorade zero, cold water and this protein water: It has 15 grams of protein and tastes better than Premier protein water. I get it at Sams club. I still cannot finish a bottle in a day, so I mix protein powder with cream of wheat and drink the protein soups.(I mean Sip) any other tips?
  21. Good Luck. Tonight and tomorrow morning listen to positive fun music, movies, comedians. I wish all of you the same experience I had; You will wake up feeling positive, excited, tired. You will love your short walks!
  22. Hi Team! Well, I went for a ride to a pharmacy on a nice smooth road. Stayed in the car. Came back. 15 minutes each way. Needed a nap. I am sipping soup broth, protein water, water, ever 5 minutes while I am awake. Now, with all the July 4th food commercials, fast food delivery, fried chicken commercials, I HAVE NO CRAVINGS, very happy. I am thrilled that I work for a living! Day time TV is terrible. I can't yet concentrate on a book for a few minutes yet. I have a small puppy, so I have company every time I get up to move around. I will post later today, keep moving everybody!
  23. Hi, I felt decent the day of surgery and the day after. The first week, I was not close to drinking recommendations from my doctor. Now I can sip 8OZ of chicken broth, protein soup, cream of wheat, in 25 minutes without discomfort. Trying to drink water, up two 50oz a day, today is Day 7 Today, I will be at 80 oz of protein. Saw my doctor on day 5, he says I am doing great. Walking a 1/2 mile twice a day.

    Day 7 after surgery update

Hi, You had MAJOR Surgery. You need sleep and rest, and the pain medication will help. Your first week, or start now, take a dose to sleep at night, and take a dose during the day. Rest, sleep hydration, and being pain free are KEY. You are special, heroic just for going through the process. Take the prescribed meds. (Don't mean to yell )

    Day 7 after surgery update

To ANYONE who has upcoming surgery: (Tips from a guy who had LapBand just had Gastric Sleeve) 1) You will be walking about an hour after you wake up. 2) You will be full on one or two ice chips 3) You may feel an immediate positive attitude. 4) You are not returning to work in one week. 5) Learn to sip. Slow 6) For myself, and many other on YouTube, you will feel full and NOT hungry after one 1 OZ sip 7) Follow your Doctors plan, talk to your Nutritionist; 😎 Use this forum, YouTube, and Your doctor. I was surprised I could not sip 1OZ every five minutes the first 5 days; it's critical to stay hydrated. Keep plugging along
