    first post

Hey guys, long time listener first time caller. I just found out today that my insurance company is going to cover my surgery. My wife and I had already decided we would pay cash for the procedure so when we found out today that our insurance was going to cover it we where very excited to say the least. My surgery is scheduled for next friday the 23rd. My question to you all is this; My doctor does not have me on any kind of a pre surgery diet. It sounds like a lot of you had to, did anyone out there have the same experiance i am having, eat whatever you want up to the day of surgery?

    Diet Pepsi!!!

Fellas.......I am 7 weeks post op and fealing great. My comments and question is this: I was a big diet Pepsi drinker prior to surgery, love the stuff. Since getting banded I haven't even so much as sniffed one because I want to be a good boy and follow the docs orders. However......a diet Pepsi at the end of the day sure would be a nice no calorie treat. Have any of you guys tried carbinated drinks since getting banded and if so how did it affect you?

So... what do you fellas do?

I am a superintendent for a large union construction company. I am over the asphalt division, I have 7 hot plants (asphalt plants) to look after.

Fellas, think I my have screwed up....

Obsidian..........Don't even give it a second thought, I was on full solids by day eleven with absolutly NO problems. Like they said before you would know immediatly if there was a problem. The guidlines are just that, guidelines. Everyone will react differently, you know your body better then anyone just use common sense and listen to your body and you will be fine.

    Anyone out there?

Recently banded, vegas resident, anyone else out there?
  6. Hey guys it's buxndux again. 5 weeks post op and down 20 lbs, most of which was lost in the first 15 days. Since going back to solid foods i have been surprised at what i can eat, pretty much anything! Did you gentelman notice a big differance after your first fill? And did the weight come of easier after that first fill?
  7. Hey guys me again, as I said earlier i am 1 week out from starting my life with the band. I have decided to try and keep my band a secret from most people, i'm not sure why thats just how i feal right now. I am very interested to hear from some of you on this subject to find out if you all felt the same way or not and was it difficult to keep it a secret from everyone, and did your fealings change later. It just seams that when you tell someone you had lap band surgery they ( i know i did ) automatically discredit any hard work on your part when it comes to weight loss. I can't wait to hear from some of you on this topic.

    Mushy vs. liquid

Hey all, 9.5 days post op and fealing prety good. 19 lbs lost already! Here is my question for all of you; I started to introduce mushy foods today i.e. mashed potatos, pureed scrambled eggs, thinned out oatmeal ect. I am supposed to be on a liquid diet for three weeks but i sure am enjoying the mushies. What diets did your doctors have you guys on? when did you start eating pureed and mushy foods? When did you start eating solid foods? Looking forward to hearing from you.

  10. Hey all i have a question for you. Before i was banded i found weight watchers to be a very affective, neutritious and reasonable program for long term weight loss. I was wondering if anyone has or heard of anyone that has incorparated weight watchers and the band together and if so how did it work.
