    Partner/ spouse support

I'm sorry your husband isn't being supportive. This is your journey though and if it's what you truly want then you need to be true to yourself and go for it. I was one of the lucky ones. I told my husband I wanted to look into it before I even went to the first seminar. He has been supportive the whole way and has been great since the surgery. He's constantly encouraging me and praising me for staying on track and sticking with the program. He has told me right from the beginning that he loved me just the way I was and he will love me just the same no matter how much I lose. I wish everyone had a super supportive partner!!

    friends?

It's definitely a big change and food seems to be the common denominator among friends, family, holidays etc. There will always be people that will scrutinize everything you're eating or not eating. Sometimes I think its because they didn't have the guts to make the serious lifestyle change. If those "friends" cannot understand that you're doing this to better your life then maybe they aren't really your friends. Good luck on your journey!!!

I HATE I GOT THIS STUPID SURGERY!

I actually found it easier to get all my protein in when I was on 3 shakes a day. Once I progressed to food the small intakes of food were super filling and each meal is only small amounts of protein. Once you get through the first couple weeks it definitely starts to get easier. Just stick with the plan and you will do fine. I'm sorry you're struggling so badly now.

    Four weeks post op RNY

I had RNY 10/11 surgery weight 211 and I'm 190 now. So about the same as you. I figure the slower it comes off the better chance of keeping off. I'm also hoping it will mean less saggy skin. Keep following the plan. You're doing great!

    Incision glue

I'm 3 weeks post op as well and I still have some glue on a couple incisions. Definitely just leave it alone and let it fall off. I had one rub on my underwear and come off too soon and wound up with a small infection in that one. The ones that have fallen off on there own are healing nicely and don't look like they will leave much of a scar.
  6. Hi @Mikeyy First you're going to do great!! I had RNY on 10/11. Didn't have much surgery pain at all, it was more gas pain and back pain from how they positioned me on the table. Once I was completely awake I was up and walking right away. They wouldn't give me anything at all to drink the first day. Second day they had me doing 1 little medicine cup of water every half hour. I got my first protein shake that second night at dinner time. At first I could only do small sips at a time but that has increased over the last couple weeks. I still can't guzzle but I can drink a decent amount each time I sip. I didn't feel hungry at all. Even the smell of food was making me sick. I was on liquids for 7 days then moved to pureed. I can only do 1/4-1/2 c at at time. More often 1/4 c makes me full. I'm just starting to feel a bit hungry here and there but still only eat 1/4c I found it easier to get all my protein in when I was on liquids only. Adding food keeps creating timing issues I haven't worked out since you can't drink 30min before or after solids. For me it feels like its been a lot longer when I reality its only been two weeks so I'm still on the learning curve. The biggest thing I've found is I still feel so tired. I expected to get more energy back by now. Don't apologize for posting "a lot" if you have questions that's how you get answers. We're all here for the same thing, Good luck on your journey.
  7. They put you on 2-3 wks of just liquids afterwards? I was moved to pureed after a week. Try to change up your shakes and see if that helps. Can you do FF cream soups? That at least feels like a meal. I do lots of Popsicles too its not much but you can crunch on bite of those.

    Support at Home

My husband and been awesome!! Supporting me each step of the way. I'm currently 11 days out and he's constantly telling me how proud he is for me sticking with it. I think your husband just needs a little education. Yes in the beginning things will be a bit more restricted as far as going out to dinner etc, but nothing you can work through.

    October Surgery Roll Call

Glad you're doing better. I can see where constipation can be an issue between the lack of food plus all the extra meds.

Congratulations on your 3lbs!! LOL I wasn't expecting the whole ewww everything food wise is gross, but I'll take that vs, wanting to eat everything.

    October Surgery Roll Call

Thank you @Panda333. I was worried about the protein at first. Today I was advanced to the pureed stage diet for the next 4 weeks. Definitely had to add some mirlax to my twice daily colace LOL. I've never been looking forward to a BM so much in my life 😂😂

    October Surgery Roll Call

I'm one week post op tomorrow and today is the best I have felt. I'm able to get all my protein in usually around 80-90grams. I just started trying to do a couple small snacks, yogurt and homemade sugar free pudding. I have no interest in food whatsoever so I'm basically eating because I know I have to. I'm down a couple pounds. I was hoping for more but I will take any loss I can get.
  16. Yup I had mine last Friday and the same thing. LOL it's really crazy when I have Popsicles.

    October Surgery Roll Call

Had my RNY yesterday morning and it went great. No pain except some gas pain which I'm trying to walk off. I will be so happy when they let me have something to drink in the morning. Nothing for the first day. (It's 1:30am) I can't sleep. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. Soon you will start getting your daily steps back and forth to the bathroom. 😂😂 I wouldn't worry though it will all come off its just excess fluid.
  19. LOL that's because it's gross 🤣🤣🤣
  20. I have been on Omeperozole for years to to GERD. I don't think it contributed to my weight gain...my poor habits did. You should be fine. It does a great job keep acid down when taken regularly.
  21. I had my pre-op this past Friday and was told to just bring the mask/headgear. I didn't think about the extra air going into my tummy. I just know I sleep so much better with it so hopefully my tummy will agree.
