  1. Hi all! I had my surgery on 6/4. Leading up to it the nutritionist told me the pain would be similar to my breast reduction that I’d had many years ago. Well- the pain when I woke up from surgery was truly the worst thing I’ve ever experienced. I had horrible nausea, but the chest/gas pains were the worst. Wow! Every day has been better and I’m up and walking and not needing my pain meds except to sleep. The nutritionist also told me I wouldn’t be hungry after the surgery. Wrong! I’m on full liquids but I’m dreaming of scrambled eggs and rotisserie chicken. I was hoping I’d have no appetite. Anyway, why do some people do full liquid for a month and some for two weeks? Just different doctors?
My surgery is scheduled for the 24th and they said I'd have to do clear liquid diet for 2 weeks, then 2 weeks of anything liquid diet.....also weeks 4 to 6 would be pureed foods.

  2. So I didnt see a June thread and wanted to make one so we could all stay accountable and have a lot of good and bad experiences together!!! Introducing myself: My name is Kassandra, I am 27 years young, I have 3 great kids (9 yr old & 5yr old little boys & a 2 year old little girl), a wonderful hubby, and 3 great cats. I'm a type 2 diabetic & have sleep apnea. I decided to do this to take my life back because I do NOT want my kids to lose me so young. I'm 5 ft 2 and 258 lbs. I was 293 last summer then I started to make small changes to get ready for surgery. I had planned for the sleeve but my insurance won't cover it right now so RNY it is!!!
I have the sleeve surgery on the 24th and I can't wait. I have so many health issues and I would just like to get healthier for myself. I honestly can't wait to be able to walk without hurting so bad that I can't walk a block without severe pain. [emoji2] I'm happy happy happy for my surgery to come!

  4. Hi, who is your surgeon in Mexico? I went to Dr Illan and it was the best experience of my life! I had the sleeve with him two years ago and am going back for a MGB revision in three weeks. I was treated better in Mexico then I ever was in America and it was more like a vacation then surgery! They treat you like a queen there!

How much did it cost over in Mexico if you don't mind me asking?
