  1. OOTD COVID testing nurse version. Outside in 48 degree driving rain & wind. 7 layers of clothes and I’m still freezing. This might be the one and only time I miss my former layer of insulation 😂

You had the sleeve surgery and lost that much weight? No issues losing?

Nope. Some brief stalls but pretty consistent loss all along. Now two months past my 2 year mark I’ve dropped another 5 lbs. I’m now making a concerted effort to maintain. I’m happy, healthy, fit, and have zero ill effects from surgery. I followed the plan I was given, I now eat a slightly higher carb content diet, but still focus on Protein first.

Last beach day of the year (I was far too cold and it was in the 70’s) 😭 anyone else still cold?

Yes! I’m cold all the time. I’m dreading this Friday. I’m picking up a shift at the outdoor COVID testing site at my hospital. It’s supposed to be 48 degrees with heavy rain & wind in Seattle. I’ll have to send an OOTD post of me in my scrubs with my longjohns, wool sweater, and puffer coat underneath. I’m going to look like the Michelin man 😂

  4. I have always loved rice. I’m a little over two years post op. Still love it, but really can’t eat much. It fills me up way too quickly. I might have a bite or two. I’ve found that even with my old favorites just a small amount satisfies my cravings for them.

OMG! Just remembered I still had the dress. Da daa… E4D5C2AD-96CD-446E-8CB2-62BED5915935.thumb.jpeg.576b05badc4740045d2870b01d058036.jpeg

The shirring doesn’t seem to have perished & if I keep my arms close to my body (so no one can really see my loose skin 😉) I think I can wear it again. WIN.

I love that dress, and you look great in it!

Thanks for sharing- what a beautiful bride! And she looks just like her mom! And where are you?? Scottish highlands. Such a scenic backdrop.

This was just outside of Seattle in the foothills of the Cascade mountains.

Absolutely gorgeous! I love the dress, it is so classic and detailed perfectly and the color is just right. I also love the color mirroring in the landscape and your dress landscape. Your daughter looks just like you right down to the cupid’s bow 😍

    Thank you!
It was a lovely day, and the clouds surrounding Mt. Si made for a dramatic backdrop for photos.

That’s sounds a perfect job for you @Dtrain84 as it ties into your previous career as a police officer.

What a lovely photo of you & your daughter @kristieshannon. Her lace dress is so pretty. And I agree - you do look alike.

Had another visit with the hand therapy place today & decided to wear this slim fit panelled dress with cowl neckline & pouch at the hem. Skirt is very fitted though the hem restricting my stride so I had a real wriggle walk happening as I strutted down the street 😆 It was 5 weeks yesterday since I decided to add extra Protein to my quiche busy slicing a chunk off my thumb & it’s just about fully healed now (was still oozing a little from one spot until yesterday). Just dealing with some hypersensitivity & dry peeling skin. You can just see a faint line from the skin graft. I was so excited last week as I was finally able to put on a real bra for the first time - I just couldn’t do the hooks up before then without causing my thumb pain & discomfort. Such a silly little thing but boy you need your thumb for soooo much.

Love this dress! It makes you look very tall & slender. Glad your thumb is healing well!

When BFF is a dedicated online shopper like you, but totally too lazy to do returns, BUT not too lazy to come by for a coffee with a too-big item cum gift in hand:

They are super tall, and make my butt stick out when I walk in them. I doubt I'd be able to wear them out in the wild for very long before my arches snap. Mr. says they have an "F-me" vibe, like in a stern, librarian kind of way...lolololzzz. I don't disagree.

Damn…those are HOT!! What my bestie & I call “flat on your back shoes” aka f*ck me pumps 😂

  10. I have a date tonight. I bought this dress at Nordstrom Rack today-was stunned to be in a size 4! Last dress I bought was a 6, but tried on several today and they were baggy in the waist. Here’s hoping this guy is worth the effort! 🤞

I can't stop buying clothes. Which is pretty ridiculous really cuz I don't really have anywhere to go to wear most of them. Le sigh.

This morning's Bargain du Jour: 2 pieces of a 3-piece blue-grey linen suit that was on clearance. Which i got a further 50% off of because the jacket was missing for the set, and I didn't want a larger one that was available. Yay deals!

I'll need to get the pants hemmed (i'm already wearing 3.5 inch heels under there but they are still way too long, jeez. And I want to change the tortoiseshell looking buttons on the vest to covered ones in the same material to make it all fancier. Add a belt and slingbacks and i'm ready to go.....nowhere. Whomp whomp.

With a shirt tucked in, with no shirt, with a shirt un-tucked. I like it best with no shirt, but if I did wear one, I think a long sleeved one would look better.

Me too. I still, even 2+ years out, am delighted at the sizes I fit in to, how comfortable I feel in form fitting clothes.

Was that hard to make? Looks good

Nope, super easy. Dice an onion, a couple carrots, and 4 oz ham. In a pot with 7 cups liquid (I used 2 cups chicken Bone Broth and 5 cups water). A 1 lb bag of split peas, a couple bay leaves, 2 tsp salt, 1 tsp pepper, 1 tsp garlic powder. Let it simmer a couple hours until the veggies & peas are soft. Chop a bunch of kale and stir it in for the last 5 minutes.

I actually just recently found an artist near me that specializes in scar matching/correction. (He also does stretch marks 😀) I am considering them, but not sure if it's worth it as mine are barely visible tbh. And except for the small part that show in a bikini (which I wear a few times a year), the rest of them are only visible when I'm naked. Not sure if it's worth spending a couple thousand on correction. Might have to reevaluate when I get my arms done and see how those scars settle.

Kristie - you're still not very far out from ps. My scars at 10 months were still pretty red/purple. But they continued to improve, and are still improving at nearly two years. Mine are mostly a thin white line. But the areas where my drains were are still a little pink/purple. So patience might be the most effective option right now :)

ms.sss - The artist I found does work on dark and raised scars as well. First step is micro needling, to flatten them. Second step is tattooing with ink that matches your skin tone. He says it takes more sessions, and isn't quite as effective on hyperpigmentation vs. hypopigmentation but his pics still show a dramatic improvement

You’re right, I’m being impatient. My breast scars are nearly invisible, and my Tummy Tuck scar is fading fast. It’s just the arm scars that are dark pink. And of course, these are the ones most likely to be seen. I’ll be patient and wait awhile longer before doing anything!

Met with surgeon & hand therapy people today. My thumb is healing, the graft isn’t dying & they said it looked good. I thought it looked gruesome & very much like a Walking Dead zombie finger.

Anyway decided to wear a new skirt. Took me ages to Iron it. All those pleats & it’s a wrap. 😱 It still looks like it’s been stuck in my cupboard for months. Well I guess it had been. The problem of having to buy northern summer clothing in our winter.

Meant to ask if you any pxts of your daughter @kristieshannon? Love to see her bridal gown.

I love that skirt! So classy :) No pics of the bride yet, she insisted on professional pics of her only so we’re waiting on the photographer to finish her editing.

You go on a vacay Lynda?

Speaking of vacays, I never imagined I'd actually want my picture taken, much less pay for photographer to do so. WLS is life changing (along with plastic surgery!)
