    R.I.P. Boobs

My cup size didn’t really drop much. From 44DDD to 36 DD. However, what was left was just big empty sacks of loose skin. Anything at all low cut looked terrible because you could see kind of bunched up loose skin. I had a lift & augmentation to fill them out. I’m now a 32 or 34 F depending on the brand of bra. I think they fit my frame perfectly, are nice & full & perky.
  2. My heels aren’t crazy rough anymore! I used to have to used a pumice stone on them several times a week between pedicures and even then they never looked great. No idea why being heavy would = dry, crusty heels but it has completely resolved. Yay for feet that look good in sandals!

    Going crazy

Oh gosh, it gets so much better! Days 2 & 3 were the worst for me and I rapidly improved after that. Hang in there!

    Sleeve Chat Room

Hi @DeneeD-this thread is really old and might not get much notice! I’d suggest starting a new thread. I’m just about two years out. Starting weight 286, now 140. This surgery has been life changing for me. My recovery was pretty easy. Expect the first 2-3 days to be rough, and then every day after that to get better and better. Follow the guidelines your team gives you. Be kind to yourself, practice healthy self care and be patient! Reach out for support when you need it, there is a wealth of knowledge here. Start exercising in whatever manner you can tolerate as early as you can and keep it up! I now hike, run, kayak, bike, attend kickboxing classes, and love it all. Keep track of non-scale victories to motivate when the scale is being stubborn. Track your intake vigilantly! Remember that you didn’t put on the weight overnight and you won’t lose it overnight either.

    At My WHITS END

Sorry you’re having a rough time. Have you talked with your surgeon and nutritionist? If not you for sure should! I lost hair too, but now at nearly 2 years out it has grown back. If you need to use protein shakes to get to your daily protein goals you should. I actually still have one every morning for breakfast.

Starting my PS journey-first consults today

Dr Alex Earle at Pure Plastic Surgery in Miami. He and his team are really awesome.

Starting my PS journey-first consults today

This is an old thread :) I had my surgery back in January! Feeling great & loving how it all turned out.
  8. Hiccups for me are a sign that I’m full and probably took one bite too many. I see it as a warning sign that I better quit or I’m going to puke 😂 I agree with everyone above. I bought either super cheap clothes from places like Old Navy, TJ Maxx, or thrift stores while still losing rapidly. I hated wearing saggy baggy clothes. Now that I’m at goal I splurge a little more since I know I’ll get plenty of use out of clothes.

    Question

You also usually sign your surgical consent form at this visit-a legal requirement in which they list all the possible things that could possible go wrong.

    too much food?

Are you tracking everything you eat? If not you should think about starting to! Not just for calorie content, but to make sure you are meeting your protein goals and not exceeding the carb guidelines your plan gave you.

    Driver's License

Washington requires it too. I’m now 80lbs less than what mine says! Ive gotten some weird looks when I have to show ID. One bartender even said “girl this needs an update!” Mine doesn’t expire until 2025 and I’m too cheap to pay to get a new one early 😂

Thank you-I’m going to try this with a mix of veggies!

    Skin removal

Check out Dr. Earle. He operates on a lot of post WLS patients. He’s not the cheapest, but his credentials and safety record are top notch.

    Skin removal

Sure-and thanks! You’ll find that prices vary wildly around the country. I’m from Seattle, it would have cost me $30,000-$40,000 there. Even after the costs of travel I came out way ahead by going to Miami.

    Skin removal

I had mine at about 18 months post WLS. I had a tummy tuck w/muscle repair, breast lift & augmentation, and arm lift. My surgeon was Dr. Alex Earle in Miami and I paid $16,100.

    Very discouraged after sleeve

In short, yes! I follow the guidelines I was given. Very strictly at first. Now at nearly two years out and at goal not as strictly, but still within my maintenance calories. That doesn’t mean I didn’t ever “slip” but it was rare during weight loss phase. I figured I did something drastic, went through a major surgery and I wasn’t going to mess it up. I’d suggest tracking what you eat vigilantly, making an appointment to see your nutritionist to review your plan and come up with options that work for you, and consider therapy. Come here often for support! Best of luck to you ❤️

    Struggling with Weight Re-Gain

Oh man, I feel you. Night shift is so hard to keep on track. I’m a nurse and have worked many an overnight. I do best when I pack everything I’m going to eat at night and track every bite that goes in my mouth. I have even gone so far as to leave my wallet at home so hitting the coffee stand or vending machine isn’t an option. Try your best to keep up with hydration and sleep-I have fierce sweets cravings when I’m low on sleep. Meal prep on days off and pack healthy snacks that are waiting plan. I also walk the halls on breaks to get steps in. Keep up the good work!

    Plastic surgery

Yes! Check out the Plastic Surgery forum. Lots of us have had plastic surgery post weight loss surgery. I had a breast lift and augmentation, tummy tuck with muscle repair, and arm lift in January. Here are my before & after pics. Absolutely no regrets. WLS was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and I’m loving my PS results too.

    Thigh lift

I didn’t think I would be heading for another round of PS, but at 6 months post op from my tummy tuck, breast lift/augmentation and arm lift I am now planning to get my thighs fixed. I’ll go back to Dr. Earle in Miami for it. He is amazing and I trust him and his team. I’m booked for a thigh lift with him next March. However, I want to get de-bulking lipo done first after I get back to Seattle after my summer living and working in Boston. Anyone have this done prior to a thigh lift? Anyone here have lipo in Seattle and have someone you can recommend? Thigh pic for reference.

How many bites to the center of.....

Meal prep/planning is key for me! I do much better staying on plan if I bring pre-portioned meals and snacks to work with me. At 21 days out I think I could only eat about 1/3 of a cup at any meal.

    Food Before and After Photos

Would you mind sharing your quick pickle recipe? I love pickled veggies of all sorts. What are Duxelles? All look delicious, I need to get in gear meal prepping tomorrow for and four night stretch of work.
  23. I didn’t use that doc but hi! I’m a fellow Seattleite, had my surgery @ Swedish First Hill.

    Hungry or full

Oh, and also-are you getting in plenty of fluids each day? Sometimes people get what feels like a hunger feeling when actually they are thirsty. I’ve found warm beverages can often cut that signal off pretty well. If it’s happening in the evening try camomile tea, it’ll have the added benefit of helping you sleep :)

    Hungry or full

Some of us notice signals from our body that we are full-I’ve heard mention of sneezing, a tight feeling across the chest, or what I feel which is hiccups. If you don’t have these signals, something you may consider if you aren’t doing it is strict calorie and macro tracking. That way you will know when you’ve met your body’s needs for the day and can tell yourself you are done for the day. This can also help to make sure you aren’t eating so much that you’re hitting maintenance calories vs weight loss calories.
